Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect This has been a great coat for our one year old son. From single digit temps in Michigan to cool mornings in San Diego this jacket has been perfect. *This review if for the 2T (28lb, 1yr old)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Chicago winter! I bought the coat for my 15 month old son (26lbs) and got the size 2T. We tried on the 12-18 month size but it was too small. The 2T fits perfectly even with a hoodie and a long sleeve tee underneath. The hood is a great feature- it actually stays over his head with a hat on. The material also makes it easy to slide on and off (as easy as dressing a toddler can be!) The photos may not show too well but the rear of the coat also has an elastic band that helps the jacket cover his backside. Another plus is that it's not too bulky so it doesn't interfere with getting our son in the car seat. We've had some brutal weather in Chicago this winter and he was perfectly content and warm outside in the snow in this jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Daughter loves the Jacket I own a couple Patagonia jackets, so when it was time to buy my 2 year old daughter her own quality jacket I went to Patagonia. Same quality as by backpacking jackets, just smaller. I expect this to be passed on to my other daughter in a couple years.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great coat, but... I purchased this coat a month ago and my daughter absolutely loves the coat. It is super light and it has been keeping her warm during the cold New England days. My only knock on this coat is the durability. My daughter blew two holes in the coat sledding the other weekend and it is throwing down feathers everywhere. I have had to resort to duck tape to cover the holes and the little one is not psyched about it. Great coat, very warm, but not durable for those active winter children.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful jacket This hooded version of the down sweater jacket has been great for our 3 year old preschool aged daughter (size 4T or 5T) to wear on many of the deceptively cool, windy days here in San Francisco. The jacket is lightweight, yet warm and very comfortable for her to wear on a daily basis. The jacket provides solid protection for her from the wind which was a specific feature we were looking for in a jacket for our kiddo. The coat's insulation, spandex binding at the hood and cuffs, and elasticized hem are also key features that make the jacket a solid choice to keep out the wind. In addition, we love the deep sea blue color that we chose for the jacket. The color is a more neutral color (than the usual pink or purple) that looks absolutely beautiful on our daughter. Note - I do not consider this a full on winter snow coat. If you live in a cold region looking for a winter coat, you may need to choose a thicker, more insulated winter coat for your child. Obviously depends on the buyer(s) and their child's preferences on layering winter coat/clothing, but something to keep in mind. You would need to layer well if using this as a winter coat in truly cold climate conditions. Similarly, this is not a rain coat. It holds up well to light rain, but definitely it doesn't replace a rain coat. But for most other cool conditions throughout much of the year where a jacket is needed, especially chilly, windy weather - this hooded down sweater jacket is perfect!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for the outdoors With toddlers, putting on clothing is a challenge, let alone thick and bulky outerwear. This Down sweater hoody is a delight to put on. It is amazingly warm with a fit that is true to its size. In -20C temperatures, we had a long sleeve onesie, long sleeve cotton shirt, a cotton pullover, the Patagonia fleece synchilla Baby Swirly Top and then the Down Sweater Hoody. Short distances outdoor were not an issue in the cold.
