They say you can’t take it with you, but in this large, burly duffel you can certainly try. Rugged and highly weather-resistant, this bag will protect your equipment from spitting camels and all other forms of insult. Access its main compartment through a zippered U-shaped lid, which has a pair of zippered mesh pockets on the underside for small items. A zippered exterior pocket holds the stuff you need to get to quickly. The padded bottom panel adds structure and helps cushion the load when your duffel gets the baggage-handler treatment. Carrying options include padded removable shoulder straps, webbing handles with a snap closure and haul loops at either end that facilitate linking multiple bags. Four daisy chains let you lash additional gear to the outside. Made from 15-oz 900-denier polyester ripstop (50% solution-dyed) with a TPU-film laminate and a DWR (durable water repellent) finish.

Water Resistant

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Black Hole™ Duffel 120L is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Land, Sea, and Air I've taken my black hole in the back of my pick up, on a boat and it's rugged enough to be handled by a baggage person. I've used it to move ice, fire wood and a ton of gear. This thing will endure. If you use it for what it is for you will have no complaints. Some people use patagonia products for other than its intended use and complain. If you complain about this bag your doing something wrong.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Patagonia bag Bag is plenty big but lacks a bit of structure. It's a little floppy. Also having even the tiniest little wheels for pulling would be great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome as always This is my 5th black hole gear purchase and I love it. It's plenty roomy, easy to attach the straps, durable and the same excellent quality as my other Patagonia gear. It's definitely coveted amongst my friends when we go on trips.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic bag I've flown all over the world with the 120L Blackhole — it's amazing. I use it for two purposes: 1. To carry all of my camping gear — both car camping trips as well as flying into other cities and countries. 2. As a replacement to my large checked roller for multi-week trips. I know that people are hesitant to use duffel bags as checked luggage on flights for fear that the soft casing is more susceptible to damage than the materials used in rollers; I've checked the bag on about 20 flights so far, including 4 international, and have not had any problems. And, the one time I had a bag destroyed by baggage handlers it was a heavy duty roller. The handle got caught on something and then the bag was yanked, tearing out the handle. My point is, that anything can be destroyed by baggage handlers. 120L is enormous. By comparison it has more storage volume than just about any roller you're likely to see at the airport. But that's why I got it. If I'm going car camping I don't bring my ultra-light gear; I just load up the bag with by big 2 person tent, cheap mattress, etc. On through-camping trips I put my backpacking pack into it plus clothing I'm going to need before and after the trip. For non-camping vacations I like that I don't have to pack expertly to fit everything in — I can be a lazy packer. I can also pack a lot of items that don't weight much buy take up a lot of space, such as shoes (I like to take at least 3 pairs of shoes with me: dress shoes for dining out, running shoes, and a backup everyday shoe). I particularly like using the bag on multi-week trips where I'm not doing any camping – just a regular tourist vacation to major foreign cities. Outside of the United States it's possible to get to airports via public transportation; it's way easier to go up and down subway stairs with the Blackhole worn as a backpack than having to carry a traditional large roller with a single handle — rollers are not meant for stairs. And with trips that involve a lot of train travel I find that it's easier to get around with the duffel than roller. Because the Blackhole is so big you do have to be careful about overpacking it. ~38 lbs is about the limit of what I can comfortably carry as a backpack. I have loaded it up to 60lbs; at that weight I just take a taxi.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Product I had purchased this product because I like the flexibility that these large duffles provide. I used it on a trip that friends and I took to NYC, the shoulder straps worked very well with all of the walking we had planned. I had it loaded with around 50lbs of gear and I did not feel as though it cut into my shoulders. The straps attach and detach very quickly, useful in airports and unloading. There is plenty of room for just about anything that you could imagine to pack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Airline Travel Put all my gear including my Osprey 65 inside for a trip to Havasu Falls. Purchased for the flight only. Worked great. Very durable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Initially confused Initially confused by backpack strap setup, however this is our 5th black hole bag and the first with the internal management system! Another quality product in our quiver. Endless room with more options to help manage space.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The last travel duffel you'll buy This bag is it! Went on a week long climbing trip with this bag and fit everything in it. All my climbing kit, boots, food/stove, clothes for leisure and climbing, hygiene stuff, sleeping bag, tent parts, you get the idea. But this bag could easily fit more. If your going traveling this bag will handle your stuff. It's very lightweight but also very durable. The pockets inside help organize as well and the ability to stuff it into its own pocket for storage is so awesome. When bouncing around airports and customs checks the backpack straps are lifesaving so easy to get around with it on your back. Great bag, so happy with it.
