bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Weatherproof

2-layer H2No® Performance Standard shell fabrics are completely waterproof, windproof and breathable.

Designed for a wide range of uses, from backpacking to snowboarding, 2-layer H2No® Performance Standard shell fabrics utilize a taffeta or mesh lining rather than a bonded scrim to protect the waterproof/breathable barrier. The lining increases the garments wicking ability, durability and next-to-skin comfort.

2-layer H2No® Performance Standard shell fabrics are coated with DWR
(durable water repellent) fabric finish that repels light rain and snow. In conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

All products bearing the H2No mark have been vigorously tested for durability in our Killer Wash.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great ski jacket so far Purchased last month for my 6yo son to keep him moving through ski school and beyond. He's been warm and well protected with a thin base layer underneath, even down to 0degF. Fits as expected and holding up great so far, albeit only one month in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from "My coat is like a sleeping bag" My son loves his current code so much, we bought this one to replace it when he grows out of it. This thing is warm, indestructible, and helps with the long and unpredictable Maine winters. Hours on the outdoor rink with this coat. Rain, snow, 5 degree windy days, it does it all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 7 year old son loves this coat! My 7 year old son chose the green coat online and couldn't wait to receive it. I had been purchasing coats for him that had two layers and could become thicker in cold weather - but he gets hot easily and I end up seeing him get off of the school bus with only one layer. I was concerned that his habits would result in a lost coat half. So, the boys' insulated Snowshot jacket is warm but lightweight and he is happy every day. I am also impressed with the high quality zippers - I really expect to be able to hand this to his brother. :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Son loves it My 11 year old boy wears this coat all the time. It not warm enough for the coldest MN days but is just right for layering for downhill skiing. I thought some of the colors combos were a little off but he likes them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Staying dry and warm! We ski at Mt Baker in WA state. It's always wet weather and so I am happy to say that my son is always warm and dry in his Patagonia gear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good color, extra body length, bright inner color. Grandson LOVES it! He didn't think he needed a new jacket, but after wearing the new one a week or so, he was ready to trash the old one. Rips, tares, and stains did not make it suitable to hand down. But now that he has a Patagonia those can be repaired. HOORAY.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid kids jacket Nice jacket and is quite warm. My only feedback would be to not have so many stitches per inch on the grow cuff. I've cut many grow with me's over the years and this one is excessive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best jacket We have always loved Patagonia products. This jacket has been amazing for my son and we got 2 years out of it. We will need to get a bigger size for next year. We live in frigid MN and this has kept him toasty. Well made product. Just bought one for our daughter now too.
