Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wonderfully warm, sturdy, but Hood Unsnaps itself!! We loved this jacket despite top-loading pockets. That could be corrected. Material is amazing, loft of down is unparalleled and dense. BUT...the hood wouldn't stay snapped on and we lost it a few times, finally permanently before we could get it sewn back on. Patagonia would only sew it on with a fee to charge and we could not get a replacement hood. I spent the extra money for an extra large coat so my daughter could wear it for a few years, but now it's not what we need it to be! Will change the review of this fine coat if we can get some progress on a replacement hood for our beautiful purple coat (now only black and navy are an option and not as fun or safe for kids moving around in daylight savings light!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from So close but not right. We returned ours. We desperately wanted this coat to work. The teal blue was gorgeous! We could overlook the Velcro front (we’d prefer snaps that wouldn’t catch on her hair or sweaters), the wider cut that hung loose on her and the slightly shorter length (it still covered her bum), but she could not get over pockets that were low and in the front instead of the side of the waist. It was so awkward for a kid who always keeps her hands in her pockets. Perhaps keep the front pockets for style and add side waist pockets for functionality. We LOVE Patagonia’s quality and mission and really hope they’ll tweak this coat for the next Winter season!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wish it were a longer length I'm a petite woman (5'1", 98lbs) and the smallest size of the women's version of this coat is still too big for me and the arms are way too long. I wanted to order the kids' size hoping it would fit, but the kids version only comes in this shorter length. Please make the longer kids length again!!! I would order one of these in a minute if it was longer! Love the coat, love Patagonia's ethics, but can't find a coat of yours that fits me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Functional yet stylish jacket for my daughter My daughter is 12yr. She's 4' 8" and I got her a large. It's slightly loose fitting on her at the moment, but she will likely grow into it next year. Jacket is lightweight yet very warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect length & warmth! I just bought this coat today & I'm in love already! I'm a tiny adult (4'11 - 105lbs for reference) and I got size XL. It fits well, the length is perfect on me & provides me with warmth for cold NYC winds! The black color goes with everything I own.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for its Purpose I would really like the fitted, long coat style to return. It was a perfect "dress up" coat for winters in Chicago - such as going to the symphony or out to dinner. While this length coat has it's own purpose as a daily play and travel coat, please bring back the long coat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My 9 year old loves this warm and lovely jacket!! My little girl loved the jacket from the moment it arrived! Great must have for cold northeastern winter days and nights. Lovely color and soft feel. Great pockets!
