bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

2-layer H2No® Performance Standard shell fabrics are completely waterproof, windproof and breathable.

Designed for a wide range of uses, from backpacking to snowboarding, 2-layer H2No® Performance Standard shell fabrics utilize a taffeta or mesh lining rather than a bonded scrim to protect the waterproof/breathable barrier. The lining increases the garments wicking ability, durability and next-to-skin comfort.

2-layer H2No® Performance Standard shell fabrics are coated with DWR
(durable water repellent) fabric finish that repels light rain and snow. In conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

All products bearing the H2No mark have been vigorously tested for durability in our Killer Wash.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Another vote for Bibs next year While the snow-skirted jacket and special attachment points on the pants are nice, snow still gets into kids pants. It's something about sliding down the snowy hills trying out every direction (feet first, head first, hot dog roll) that lets snow in. Rough and tumble play in the snow doesn't magically end when they outgrow the toddler sizes. Please keep our growing dirtbaggers comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gra ski pant These are the second pair of ski pants I have bought for my daughter who is now in grade 3. The first pair lasted 3 seasons ( I find they run a bit big) and they were then handed down ( they wash well) they passed the ski, skate and sled test and are not too bulky.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from sizing is off I bought a girls size L for my daughter as she had outgrown the M she had used for a few years. We had loved these snow pants because they are waterproof, warm, sturdy, with an adjustable waist, and the legs can be easily lengthened, all features that we used. All in all we were very satisfied with her previous pair. Her first pair had been a S which also worked very well. But when the L came the waist was huge! and there was no way to use the waist adjustment to make it small enough to fit her. Highly disappointed as we were looking forward to using it. It is strange how the sizing from the M to the L was such a jump. Unfortunately we have to return this size.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Big Kids Bibs! I put the activity for which I'd recommend these pants as "other". This, because "chilling by the fire with hot cocoa" isn't an option. Don't get me wrong. Love the pants. Absolutely LOVE the brand and everything for which you guys stand. To echo what the two Mom's prior to me wrote....PLeASE OFFER a Big Kids BIB (6x to 12) for '15. This coming from a Dad. Once again, Moms are correct... Snow bunnies with snow in their pants es no bueno. The only way to warm it up is to pour the cocoa down their pants. Then you end up with what we call in TX, a "Hot mess". :-) so, 4 stars for the pants. The Bibs would get 5.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 2nd the BIBS PLEASE! WINTER OF 2015 WOULD BE !!! We own the BIBs up to 5T. We also own the pants starting at size Kids XS (5/6), S (7/8), and M (9/10). My kid who should fit in a S (7/8) prefers to wear the size 5T BIBs when she plays in the snow. She will not wear the snow pants! BIBs are the way to go. Please make a set of kids bibs starting at Kids size XS in unisex colors such as Red. For 2015, this would be amazing!!! Patagonia, we love you, your quality, your designs, your fabrics, everything! BIBs would help the Bigger Kids of the world enjoy snow play so much more!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from BIBS PLEASE Kids need ski bibs! Please consider making some. I'm sure moms across the universe would LOVE it if you made bibs instead of or addition to pants. Bibs are the secret to happy kids playing for hours out in the snow, especially little ski bunnies learning to navigate the sloppes. Otherwise, it's a hard life with crying 'cause they have snow down their pants. :)
