Read More Close
When we wash synthetic garments, tiny plastic fibers are released and make their way from the washing machine to our waterways. The GUPPYFRIEND Washing Bag protects synthetic garments and reduces the number of microfibers that get flushed through washing machines and that eventually may enter our rivers and oceans. The inside of the bag is slick—even where the tiny threads cross—this leads to reduced abrasion and breaking of fibers. The clothes in the bag undergo less mechanical stress and less friction with other clothes, which leads to decreased fiber loss and a longer lifetime of the textiles. If you use the GUPPYFRIEND Washing Bag, you’ll find fewer fibers in the washing machine compared to washing without GUPPYFRIEND. After washing garments in GUPPYFRIEND, remove the microfibers from the bag and dispose of them by throwing them away in the trash.

Guppyfriend™ Washing Bag is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome product I bought this product and was skeptical at first but in the first small load we found a bunch of micro fibers! The clothes also did not come out dripping wet which was a big worry of mine. The only thing is I wish I had bought three in total as the one threw our top load washer a little off balance.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from don't expect to see lots of fibers I bought two of these bags 4 to 6 weeks ago and have used them both about twice a week, so I've used each one about 10 times. The first time I used them, I didn't see any of the fibers these bags are supposed to catch, so I was completely confused. I emailed Patagonia and one of their customer service folks researched the issue and found out that a) the fibers are so tiny, you won't see them the first few times you wash and b) the bags are very smooth inside, which reduces the amount of fibers the clothes lose. Now that I have used them about 10 times, I'm just starting to see some dark fibers in the corners and creases of the bag, as you can see from the photo. As you can also see, the bags turned pink when I washed them with some red items. Fortunately, the pink color does not transfer to white clothing; I have washed white items in the bags after they turned pink and the white items came out fine. I like these bags and wouldn't hesitate to buy another.
