Like a perfect pitch of climbing with just enough protection, our Adze Hybrid Jacket lets you move without hesitation. The front, back and top of the arms are protected against cold and wind with a Polartec® Windbloc® polyester/spandex stretch-woven fabric that’s lightly insulated with a comfortable, warm and wicking fleece grid backer. Meanwhile, low-bulk, unlined, stretchy double-weave soft-shell panels run up the sides, under the arms and down into the sleek, modified Variable Conditions Cuff, offering enhanced breathability and mobility. Zippers secure the two handwarmer pockets (placed above harness line) and the internal chest pocket. The no-bunch hem adjusts with a cord inside the handwarmer pockets. With a DWR (durable water repellent) finish.
  • 3-layer, Polartec® Windbloc® stretch-woven polyester soft-shell fabric stops wind and resists precip with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish, while a fleece grid backer insulates and wicks moisture
  • Stretchy, breathable, double-weave soft-shell fabric on side panels, underarms and cuffs has a DWR finish
  • Soft-shell fabric on inner collar and wind flap is durable and abrasion-resistant
  • High, harness- and pack-compatible handwarmer pockets and one interior chest pocket have brushed tricot lining
  • Modified Variable Conditions Cuffs fit over gloves and allow sleeves to push up easily without constricting forearms
  • Flat-cinch, no-bunch hem adjusts by pulling cord in handwarmer pockets and releases with cord locks at side hem
  • Body: 3-layer, 9-oz Polartec® Windbloc® 93% polyester/7% spandex stretch woven with fleece grid backer. Side panel, inset and cuffs: 5.5-oz 88% nylon/12% spandex stretch double weave. All with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish
  • 586 g (20.7 oz)
  • Made in Nicaragua.

Water Resistant

(durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Polartec® Windbloc® fabrics block 100% of the wind and provides maximum protection from the elements. The soft hand, stretch, and DWR (durable water repellent) finish combine to make this the highest quality, most comfortable windproof fleece product on the market.

Polartec Windbloc fabrics incorporate a polyurethane barrier membrane that allows moisture vapor transmission while completely blocking wind and water, eliminating the need for an additional shell. This reduces the weight and number of layers needed to protect and insulate.

Polartec Windbloc is durable, quiet, and non-pilling, and has enhanced stretch and recovery, making it ideal for activities when movement is intermittent, and when cold and inclement weather demands high-performance outer protection.

Men's Adze Hybrid Jacket is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket for golfers! I have several Patagonia products and I live and work in an urban environment. This jacket is perfect for my urban lifestyle - I walk or bicycle everywhere. I also play a lot of golf and walk whenever possible and I thought this jacket would be excellent for this purpose. In fact, it is great for golfing. Don't know how that fits with your marketing plan - I'm suggesting that you could sell a lot of great jackets to environmentally aware golfers. I go to the USA mecca of golf every year; Bandon Dunes is located on the wind and rain swept bluffs adjacent to the Pacific Ocean in southwestern Oregon - this jacket will likely be my go-to jacket except for on the stormiest days of the trip when full waterproofing is essential to one's well being. Thanks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from favorite jacket I wear this jacket almost year-round. I'm impressed by the way it protects from the elements, especially rain and wind, and still breathes. It doesn't stand up the coldest cold, but I've layered it with a fleece or better sweater to get the job done. A perfect jacket for fall and spring, especially with a chill in the air or chance of rain. I especially appreciate the length of the sleeves and the fact that they are tapered, which reduces bulk during activity (running, hiking, climbing, etc). I also like the contrast colors; my light blue with dark blue trim makes for a jacket I can wear on a trail as well as around the city. I had a jacket like this (similar weight and material as in soft on the outside with a shell on the outside) made by North Face, but I usually overheated and the jacket got smelly. I've had my Adze for a while now, and not only does it hold up better to the elements and show less signs of wear, but I rarely overheat in it. Definitely my favorite jacket.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid performer. I spend a lot of time hiking and backpacking and have done over 100 miles on the trail with this jacket. In moderate to medium activity, I can wear a thin base layer and then just this jacket, in temperatures down to about 25 degrees or so. This is not the most breathable jacket that I own, but there is always going to be that trade-off, when dealing with windproof/waterproof jackets. The side panels are well done, though and do create a fair amount of breathability. My biggest problem with this item was the zippers. They are not as smooth as they should be and I don't understand why Patagonia chose them over a more functional alternative. I hope they will consider this point for next year's model (I sent my first Adze jacket back as a result, and received a new jacket in exchange). If the zippers were smoother, I would have rated this item five starts. Overall, the Adze Jacket is a durable product and a solid performer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A nice, modern looking jacket, but... I have been wearing the Synchilla coat for literally thirty years (not the same one, of course!) while I have loved it, I was looking for a more modern looking jacket that was not bulky but still offered warmth and water resistance. After consulting a representative for Patagonia, I decided on the Adze hybrid. The look, cut, and color are great. I feel like I'm finally in the 21st century fro a style perspective! However, the coat is nowhere near as warm as the old synchilla. (I was told it might not be quite as warm) But it would be fairly close.) With the synchilla, I could comfortably wear it in Sub-freezing temperatures for reasonable periods of time. With the adze, even 40 degrees F is too cold to wear without a sweatwr or another layer. It's as if it is only a shell, which I didn't get the impression it was all it was supposed to be. Overall, I am happy with the Adze, but I've kept the old synchilla around for walking the dog on cold New England nights...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent fit and versatility I really like this jacket because it is windproof and water resistant making it very versatile. It's great for layering as well. I am 6'4", 195lbs and it fits great, even in the arms which is usually a challenge. Very pleased with this purchase.
