A trimmer, sleeker version of the original Baggies™, these shorts are lightweight, fast drying and made of a durable polyester ripstop fabric, which provides 40-UPF sun protection. The elasticized waist and internal drawstring ensure your shorts stay in place when you make an impromptu dive in front of a crowd. Vertical side pockets are lined with drain-and-dry mesh to reduce drag in the water and can also be reversed out to create a storage pouch. With a quick-drying mesh liner and a 6.5" inseam.

Men's Baggies Lights is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice shorts I own 3 pairs of baggie lights. I tried the original baggies but found them way too baggy. I use the shorts for everyday use as well as backpacking. I find the fit to be much more attractive than the original baggies. So far I've been using them with the liner and no underwear. Some negatives of the shorts: The fabric isn't very air permeable and when I sit down, the shorts like to sit snug around my thighs. Sometimes this results in a sweaty crotch. Also if I layer some running tights on top of the shorts, they are snugged around my thighs and I don't have much breathability. The fabric is particularly cold when wet. If you aren't wearing underwear and they get wet, they feel like they are sucking the heat out of your legs in cold weather. Anyways that was a lot of complaining, but these are solid shorts overall. I recommend them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from these thing rock I LOVE them! finally baggies that fir me right! the regular baggies are too dang....well....baggie. A medium is just too snug for long wearing comfort and the large is like a giant trash bag. These fit great and feel and look amazing. <3

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Baggies for Skinny People I've had a pair of regular 7" Baggies for more than few years and love them, however as the name implies, they are baggy and when combined with skinny legs they tend to have a parachute look to them. I ordered these in a size small and they fit me much better than the regulars in a size small (usually wear waist size 30 or small in patty bottoms, 32 waist in Levi's fwiw) . I purchased them for a trip to Southeast Asia hoping that their lightness might keep me from getting too swampy which seems to be working so far, although I can't comment on the difference between these and the regulars. The liner is great for freeballing but a pain if you're wearing any kind of boxers. The purple color is pretty cool too. All in all, if you're on the slimmer side go ahead and get these, if you're not on the slimmer side, get the regulars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow! Not the original, but.. So folks, these are not like the old ones (that I also have a pair of) but these are SO light-weight, durable, and good looking. The swimsuit-like liners are very nimble and would be easy to cut out if your really didn't like them - but I hardly notice them. Super comfortable, a nice modest length to wear to work, rock climbing, the beach, or whatnot. Love them! Good colors too -- I got the purple one. I'd get another pair. I'd wear them on hot day's riding easy mountain bike trails, bouldering hard routes in the summer, or if I didn't know what was going to happen and wanted to be prepared for anything (as long as it's not cold).

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Buyer Beware Like everyone else, I love the original baggies, although I have to size down for a better fit. I liked the idea of a lighter version, but when they arrived I was disappointed in the fit. I wear trimmer clothing, but these are sized way off. I am 5'8, 168lbs, 31" waist, and wear a small in the Original Baggies. I bought a Medium in the Baggie Lights, and they are too trim for a muscular build, and the liner is too small. I had a permanent wedgie, and no room in the groin. Also, the crotch seam is too low which led to uncomfortable chaffing in tropical weather - unless you wear long boxer briefs underneath. Lastly they kept falling down unless I knotted the draw cord, because the elastic waist isn't enough to hold them up on its own. Not sure what that was about. Unfortunately, these are going back to Patagonia. Too bad because I like the material. However, they need to be shorter, with a shorter rise and more voluminous liner, and a better elastic in the waist. Improve those items and I will be the first one to try again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome Shorts! I am a smaller guy (5'2", 105'ish lbs), so when I saw that Patagonia was offering a slim version of the Baggies, I had to jump on them. I have owned some of the regular baggies, and find them just too baggy for my build; I could use them as a parachute if I needed to. So for us smaller people, these shorts fit muuuch better. I already own two pairs of these, and will be buying more! As the name of the shorts states, these are a lighter material than the original Baggies. But that doesn't mean that they aren't tough. I work with sea turtles for my job, and these shorts have held up to being smacked by flippers, claws, barnacles, etc, and not rips or tears yet. And they dry really fast too! The only thing that I have to criticize these shorts for is the lack of a back pocket. I realize that these are meant to be a trimmed down version of the originals, and a back pocket would have added some bulk. I wear these shorts for daily use, not just in the water, so being able to easily carry my wallet with me in these would be awesome.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Stick with the original Baggies I have a couple pairs of patagonia's original Baggies 7" inseam in size large and I love them. They are one of the most comfortable shorts and are well made. On the other hand, I ordered a size large in the Lights, knowing it is a slim fit but its all they had in stock at the time, and were extremely small in every measurement. Even the material is much thinner, which is mentioned in the description and hints "Lights". I'm sure these would fit fine on a very slim body, but for everyone else I would recommend getting the original Baggies instead. I would only recommend for a slim built person or size up.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from A little too revealing I loved the idea of a slimmer fitting version of the original Baggies. I have worn Baggies for years, but the last pair I bought seemed bigger than previous versions. The fabric on these shorts is too light and is a little too revealing for wearing these shorts out in public. I can't imagine what they would look when they are wet! The fit was great, so if the fabric was the same as the original Baggies, these would be a five star purchase. Needless to say, they got returned.
