Recycled Polyester

In 1993, we adopted fleece into our product line made from post consumer recycled (PCR) plastic soda bottles. We were the first outdoor clothing manufacturer to do so. PCR® clothing was a positive step towards a more sustainable system – one that uses fewer resources, discards less and better protects people’s health.

Today, we’re able to utilize more sources for recycled polyester and offer it on more garments such as Capilene® baselayers, shell jackets, board shorts, and fleece. We now recycle used soda bottles, unusable manufacturing waste, and worn out garments (including our own) into polyester fibers to produce many of our clothes.

Using recycled polyester lessens our dependence on petroleum as a raw material source, curbs discards and reduces toxic emissions from incinerators.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Vest life My husband loves it! He wears his vest almost everyday. I would recommend most Patagonia products to others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect layering for winter in NYC I love this vest. It fits tight on my body, which is great because I wanted to layer it underneath a jacket for the winter. The vest is light and soft, but not too soft. It definitely has a sturdy feel and isn't flimsy. The fuzziness on the outside isn't a turnoff, if that's a concern for you. I've received many compliments on this vest and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a light and durable vest to layer with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Awesome, might've gotten a little bigger. I love it so much its a really great vest. Everyone compliments it and some people say I look like I'm wearing a sheep. :D I think it might have stretched just a little, but otherwise it was a great purchase and I'd recommend it to anyone. Its very comfortable and soft and, to me, has a much better texture and feeling than the Synchilla snap-t's(the piling is reversed on the retro-x). I really do love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Base layer. Living in GA, I don't always need a full coat while camping and hiking. This vest is a perfect light jacket with wind protection and as a base layer to upgrade a normal winter jacket. Love the look too. I am a hip dad!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfy Its a good piece of gear for in between days. I keep it in my car for warmth after a late fall/winter day of surf. Its also nice for wearing when running into the grocery store or sitting in a restaurant. Low bulk and very comfortable. Our little dogs like to nest in it while going for a drive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is my third retro vest Warm, fuzzy and sharp. Looks and works great with long sleeve tees and button downs. Vests aren't really for super cold weather so wear this when its cold but not super cold. The fuzzy fabric is too warm for a moderate fall day. For moderate cold days a Karsten Vest or Synchilla Vest would suffice better. Love the high collar on the Retro vest and the windproof fabric is really nice. This is the best vest on the market.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I feel like a sheep I feel like a sheep when I wear my vest, maybe not the best look for Wyoming. It is windproof and cozy. Just right for hikes in the fall and I suspect that it will be great under a shell for skiing. Looks ultra cool. I'll be a hit in the bar apres ski.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great, color just not as pictured I like to consider myself a loyal Patagonian, and have yet to be discouraged by the versatility or wear ability of anything purchase. I love the look of the retro x collection but found the jacket to be cumbersome so I got the vest (on a web special at that!) However, upon receiving it the color isn't what I expected. I ordered the purple, which online shows to be pretty true to just that. Purple. Opening the package I was surprised to see more of a fuchsia or magenta color. I'm pretty out there sometimes so I gave it a try and didn't return it. I love it. It's definitely a conversation item.... That being said, still wish it had been better represented online.
