Fair Trade Certified™

We pay a premium for every Fair Trade Certified item that carries our label. That extra money goes directly to the workers at the factory, and they decide how to spend it. The program also promotes worker health and safety and social and environmental compliance, and encourages dialog between workers and management. Fair Trade is one of the first tools we’re using at Patagonia to raise workers’ wages, improve their standard of living and move them closer to earning a living wage.

Organic Cotton

In 1996, with an increased awareness of the dangers of pesticide use and synthetic fertilizers in growing conventional cotton, we began the exclusive use of organically grown cotton in all of our cotton products.

The quality of organic cotton is equal to or better than conventionally grown cotton, yet organically grown methods support biodiversity and healthy ecosystems, improve the quality of soil and often use less water. Growing organically takes more time, requires more knowledge and skill, and, for now, costs more. But it’s worth it.

To ensure we are buying cotton that is organic as defined by the USDA’s National Organic Program, we require numerous certificates issued by an accredited third-party certification body for every step of the supply chain, from farm to factories.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great design Love the 100% cotton tee's color and design. These are the only shirts I buy for my boys!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from huuuge I like that the shirt is made in the USA. Comfortable fabric and attractive design. However, the shirt is HUGE. I wish I had followed other commenters' advice to order a size down; the L size I bought fits like an XL.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very soft and comfortable My skin has become hypersensitive to the point that I can wear only Patagonia organic cotton shirts. The Fitz Roy Banner shirts in particular are made of extra soft fabric and are my favorites. I prefer the generous fit and length of size Men's Small; there is a nice choice of colors that suit women too. I hope Patagonia continues to make many organic cotton shirts. I can't wear cotton/polyester or recycled fabrics. Patagonia shirts are the only brand I've tried that don't give me a rash. Keep up the good work!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor build quality, uncomfortable fabric The top seam on one sleeve is over an inch longer than the opposite sleeve. Very poor stitching throughout. Looks like a size too large. The fabric is pretty terrible too.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too big Shirt feels like the next size up. Will not be keeping this item. Would not recommend.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Comfortable T but size down I recently purchased a few T Shirts for summer casual wear. I purchased a mix of cotton poly and organic cotton shirts. While the cotton/polly fit well if you upsize then wash, the cotton never shrunk. I look like I am wearing a tent. I am 6' 180 lbs and purchased a xl. I should have purchased the large as recommended on the size chart. My bad.
