If we took anything more away, only the zipper would remain. Our Houdini® Vest provides lightweight, weather-resistant protection where it matters most: your core. The wind-blocking nylon ripstop fabric has a DWR (durable water repellent) finish, the single left-chest pocket converts to a stuffsack with reinforced carabiner clip-in loop, and the back of the hem adjusts with a single pull. For road rides and asphalt runs, the reflective logos on left chest and center-back neck provide a blip of critical visibility.

Water Resistant

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Piece! Perfect for what I wanted it for: ski touring in late-winter and spring. Wore it for three days in the Wallowa's and it did it's job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from so little, so much i have been using vests for years, but my old ones are worn and heavier than this one. this vest is super light, but packs a serious warmth punch. just like the houdini jacket and alipne houdini, it is worth it's weight in gold. compacts small in a pocket or pack, fits great, easily adds 10-15 degrees of warmth to any top. i'm a big fan of arm warmers for use in the outdoors. arm warmers, a good short sleeve top and this vest will get you through 40+ temps with easy temp regulation. this will get more use than my houdini coats, which is saying something as they are used a lot. but for where I live (portland, or), i have a lot of outdoor time in the 40, 50's and 60's. i am 5'10, and 165lbs and wear the small. it has a snug fit, which is what i like.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for cycling, and life. I have many cycling vest that all fit great but none that pack down so small. Though it's not skin tight to race in for cold descent this rules as I don't want to carry a bulky vest up. But I end up wearing always to keep the early morning spring chill away. I've even used as a mid layler for spring skiing so I can stick it in my back pocket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Vest Great, super functional vest. As a breaker over capilene or UA/similar or really just a cotton tee, it really gets the job done in colder weather. I mainly use it trail running in the southern Sierras, but would definitely take this on longer expeditions, too. It packs incredibly small & light. The Medium fits me well (I'm usually a Medium or Large). A tad tight in the shoulders, but I have a broad chest/shoulders. The Large would be too baggy in the body for a lot of us in this size range (as a couple other reviewers noted). Definitely recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great vest Well designed vest. Perfect for running and stashes away into a small, light package smaller than my fist. I'm 6'1", 175 pounds and first ordered the Large which was a bit too baggy through the torso. Reordered a medium and it fits perfectly - not too tight, but also tight enough so the fabric isn't moving around while running or biking. Great item.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome light and great to always have on hand Cool spring evening here in the Midwest... I get the vest in the mail and have had it on since.. Over a t-neck or t-shirt it's a great super light layer to add. It weighs next to nothing and tucks away the same. Love the red color!! This does run slim, for sure. I am normally large but XL was the fit for me on this. Thanks for a great addition to essentials to have on any hike or hanging out side enjoying the weather !!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from worked great for long runs on Mt. Wilson this is a great little piece for regulating my core temperature when running in the lower mountains. It's super light, yet it provided enough wind protection and allowed me to keep comfortable. I usually wear with light capilene long sleeve and use the zipper to regulate my temperature. one thing i would like to see patagonia add to all houdini zippered jackets is a double slider zipper so that I can wear the jackets/vests almost like a cape which i think will allow for maximum vent without having the jacket come off while running

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new favorite WINTER piece One normally wouldn't think of a two and a half ounce garment as a go-to winter piece, but over my Nano-Air hoody or an R1 hoody and a super light base layer it is the perfect thing for high output cold weather endeavors where wind, self-generated or otherwise, is a factor - from fat bike snow riding to skate skiing to earning my turns in the Colorado backcountry - protecting my core without steaming me up.
