If New York is the city that never sleeps, you’re going to need a sophisticated, street-friendly jacket that keeps you warm and dry if you want to keep up the pace. This insulated jacket provides windproof, weather-resistant protection to anyone walking the beat, day or night. Insulated with 600-fill-power Recycled Down reclaimed from duck and goose down products, it feels like you’re wrapped in a soft comforter whenever you head out the door. The 2-layer shell, made from a 50-denier 100% polyester fabric, has a buoyant, supple hand along with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish to shed moisture and increase durability. A 100% recycled polyester ripstop lining wicks moisture and glides smoothly over layers. For additional weather protection there’s an insulated hood and a 2-way waterproof center-front zipper with a zipper garage at the chin to protect exposed skin. High-volume handwarmer pockets have soft brushed jersey fabric lining, and there’s an internal security pocket (with headphone compatibility) that closes with a zipper. The hem is adjustable using hidden cords routed inside the handwarmer pockets. This jacket has a streamlined silhouette and an at-the-waist length.
  • Durable, soft-to-the-touch 2-layer 100% polyester shell with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish and insulated with 600-fill-power Recycled Down
  • Waterproof, polyurethane-coated 2-way center-front zipper with zipper garage maximizes the jacket’s weather defenses
  • Insulated hood with hidden adjustment cords that cinch down for protective warmth
  • High-volume handwarmer pockets are lined with ultrasoft brushed jersey; media-compatible internal zippered pocket
  • Adjustable bottom hem with hidden adjustment cords routed to interior of hand pockets
  • Trimmer, more streamlined fit allows the down to conform closely to the body and trap heat more efficiently

100% Recycled Down

There’s a huge upside when you can turn waste into something beautiful; we’re doing that with Recycled Down. It’s a mix of 600-fill-power goose and duck down reclaimed from cushions, bedding and other used items that can’t be resold. The reclaimed down is washed, using detergent and thermal water at 34 degrees Celsius, then dried at 135 degrees Celsius (20 minutes longer than the industry standard), making it hypoallergenic. Recycled Down offers the identical performance benefits to virgin down.

Water Resistant

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Men's Jackson Glacier Jacket is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Awkward Fit Like many others I found the fit odd. Sleeves to be short and the armholes to be tight... and I'm rather short. Seems like a design flaw to me. If you size up for the arms to fit the overall jacket would huge. This is quite bulky compared other insulated jackets, feels and looks like a padded suit, but probably will keep you very warm.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Suffocating collar I bought this and returned it after getting it home and realizing the collar is ridiculously tight at/under the chin. On a cold and or windy day, doesn't everyone snug up their hood, and tuck their chin under the collar? It's near impossible with the tight cut of this jacket–a major flaw, I believe. Otherwise a seemingly durable, warm, and slightly heavy version of a contemporary Michelin-man down jacket.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic for commuting Living in Canada and having been tested by several -30°C days this winter, this jacket has kept me warm. My daily 15-minute walk to the train station is no problem. I’m kept warm by it’s down fill, and the hood (also insulated) adjusts perfectly to fit and keeps in body heat. This jacket fits slightly on the small side for me (I’m 6 ft tall, 200 lbs) but that means it’s close to the body, again keeping out cold air. Would definitely recommend this one for daily urban commuting in colder places. My only wish is that this jacket came in brighter colours. Winter in Alberta means dark mornings and early evenings, so a higher visibility option would have been great.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Urban Parka, fits small Nice quality parka. Good material and construction. Nice sleeve opening and wrist design. Sizing for me felt slim. It does not feel it was designed for layering. I'm 5'11, 210 and the L was good with a t-shirt. XL was needed for a sweater but upsizing was way too large. Hood and neck is where the jacket failed for me. Hood was short and narrow. I could not do the jacket all the way up, comfortably, unless I had the hood up. I would prefer if this had an alpine style neck that went all the way up to my nose so I my head could rest in a natural position when the jacket was closed. This would offer better protection regardless of the position of the hood. Ultimately had to return it as a Parka that can't protect my face and neck isn't very practical.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great jacket, but sizing is off Great jacket, windproof, weather resistant, very warm, but sizing does fit a bit smaller than the average piece of patagonia outwear. If you plan to have anything on under this jacket other than a t shirt, I recommend sizing up. Sleeves are a little short and tight and arm holes up by the should are smaller than usual. Other than the sizing being weird and having to size up from my normal XL, I love the jacket already.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Spot on Beautiful jacket. Everything fits perfectly, including the sleeve length. The fabric doesn't gleam in the light (unlike most DWR) and is subtle in color. As in the video, the bottom cinch is controlled on the side of the pocket; I've never really liked this design, it adds more to the inside of my pocket where I want my hands warmed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great jacket but short sleeves limit mobility I really wanted to keep this jacket. I love the clean design with laminated baffles and matte fabric material. The colors are great to for around town wear, and it fit great through the body. However the sleeves are a tad too short, and the limited range of motion in the upper back make the cuffs yank up to my forearms with any bit of movement. Really annoying! I'd much rather have sleeves that were slightly too long that too short. And as it is, I didn't want to live with that annoyance. Shame cause it's a great around-town winter jacket otherwise. I wish Patagonia would start laminating the baffles on all it's down jackets.
