Now trimmer through the body, it features a center zipper with a rope pull and flat-felled seam detailing. The hood has cinch ties for an adjustable fit. Self-lined, zippered handwarmer pockets have flat-felled side seams and rope-pull closures. The left pocket serves as a self-stuff pouch with carabiner clip-in loop. UPF Fabric

Lacking fur, feathers or scales, we humans have to think up clever ways to protect ourselves from the sun. Products with the UPF designation provide built-in sun protection that won’t wear off.

To achieve sun protection, Patagonia takes a varied approach, depending on the degree of protection desired and the fabric used. Elements of the strategy can range from yarn selection to fabric construction to the use of special finishes (especially for light colors which generally provide less protection).

Water Resistant

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Men's Light & Variable™ Hoody is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from great casual windbreaker I bought this to have something to clip to my work backpack and have for evenings that the coastal fog came in. I like the balance of breathability and warmth. I think it does run a little baggy, but it was probably meant to since it has UV protection so in sun you'd want a jacket a little baggier. I do wish the way it stuffs in itself had a smaller pocket like the Houdini cause it can be a decent size when packed. But i like the color and quality and always love PG gear due to the quality and warranty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Windbreaker I just bought this a week ago and the day I got it a huge rain storm rolled in. This kept my dry and comfortable while I was out during the day. I'm a heavier guy so I didn't know if this would fit how i'd like it to but I love the way it fits so don't be afraid if you're a bigger guy. would be good for windy cool days or nights, don't expect to wear this in the winter though.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cool jacket, not cool in rain I bought this jacket and was way super excited to wear it. I'm a 110 pound female. I thought this jacket was cute and I wore it all the time on my vacation in Hawaii. It's super lightweight and looks good. It's awesome for travel because it folds up into the pocket and packs nicely. Although, absolutely do not wear this in rain. It is like wearing a wet garbage bag. It is rain resistant for like two seconds, and then is not nice to wear. I like it for a casual jacket to wear out and about and it is a slight wind breaker. Just absolutely do not wear it in rain or cold conditions because it will not keep you dry or warm.
