We like our coffee from all-night cafes and our miles from the open road pointed north. This easygoing polo shirt is made of Merino Daily, our regular fit, everyday Merino baselayer for all-day comfort and easy care whether you’re six days into a road trip or just cruising around town. Merino wool is naturally breathable, regulates body temperature and stretches. It's also wonderfully soft and naturally resists odor. Our fine merino wool is sourced from the grasslands of Patagonia. We slow-wash it for softness and shrink resistance, without the use of chlorine, then blend it with 48% Capilene® recycled polyester for durability, quick dry-times and moisture transfer superior to that of 100% merino. Features include a self-fabric collar with a 3-button neck opening and full underarm gussets for unhindered shoulder mobility. Machine wash cold; machine dry at low temperatures.
  • Fine merino wool from the grasslands of Patagonia blended with Capilene® recycled polyester for improved wicking, durability and dry time

bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Recycled Polyester

In 1993, we adopted fleece into our product line made from post consumer recycled (PCR) plastic soda bottles. We were the first outdoor clothing manufacturer to do so. PCR® clothing was a positive step towards a more sustainable system – one that uses fewer resources, discards less and better protects people’s health.

Today, we’re able to utilize more sources for recycled polyester and offer it on more garments such as Capilene® baselayers, shell jackets, board shorts, and fleece. We now recycle used soda bottles, unusable manufacturing waste, and worn out garments (including our own) into polyester fibers to produce many of our clothes.

Using recycled polyester lessens our dependence on petroleum as a raw material source, curbs discards and reduces toxic emissions from incinerators.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile Shirt These are my first Merino wool shirts. They feel like cotton, but act more like a synthetic. I will be buying more in different styles soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New fav shirt This shirt is my new fav. I usually wear a small in Patagonia button up shirts but for this polo medium is a nice trim fit. Finish is excellent and the fabric is very comfortable. No issues with durability but it's only had a handful of washes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shirt at a great price. Perfect for a game of golf, a day at work, hiking and then grabbing a nice dinner in town. I have a last seasons medium that fits fantastic. However, this season I had to switch to a large in the same model and now those fit great. Just FYI.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Pilling Mess I bought five of these and five of the crew-neck version to wear as a daily uniform... they each get washed approximately once per week. Within a month they were all pilled. I'd also caution that the light grey discolors in areas of high sweat, turning a sort of orange color. I wouldn't buy this product again and am planning to switch to a different "uniform"... I'm thinking the more casual nine trails shirt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's not perfect, but still excellent I own 2 pairs. Extremely comfortable to wear, although I prefer cool days to warm for the wool. I wish everything I own had an 'underarm dressing' - a large part of why it's so comfortable. The fabric does 'pill' a little when being broken in, but it's going away on it's own and it I doubt anyone but myself noticed it. I only wish the 'underwater blue' was a tiny bit darker and more saturated in color, but the black color looks perfect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the shirt, but... I own two of these shirts and love them. I wear them to work and when traveling. The shirt breathes exceptionally well. My one complaint is the pilling. The pilling only occurs when I wear a backpack. I should have known better than to wear a pack set directly on the wool, but I was hoping it would stand up better than it did. 5'8, 155 lbs - Medium

Rated 2 out of 5 by from A pilling nightmare I bought these shirts (3) on the strengths of my Patagonia merino zip underwear. An amazing product that will just not quit after a lot of long ski seasons. Unfortunately, these polos are just not made of the same quality material. They have shrunk and are constantly pilling. These problems make them pretty much useless to me for my purpose. I have bought a lot Patagonia products during the last 25 years and this is the first time I am unsatisfied, which explains my bitterness.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I wish all Patagonia shirts fit like this As a fairly slim dude, 5'9 - 145lbs, buying a Patagonia shirt usually means a trip to the tailor. While I'm sure their cuts flatter a lot of stereotypical Americans and appeal to the older generation.. not exactly great for skinny people in their 20's. I was pleasantly surprised when I bought this polo, in Medium, and it fit perfectly immediately. No need to take in the sides. Hopefully this is a sign that Patagonia will start to feature more modern, slimmer fitting casual clothing. I know that I would personally love to support the brand more often. As other reviews have mentioned, it does run a bit warmer than t-shirt material, being that it's made of wool.
