Slipping into the Merino Daily T-Shirt is a mood changer. Schedules go awry, plans fall through, but inside the soft comfort of this versatile tee, you’re feeling fine. Merino Daily is our regular-fit, everyday Merino baselayer, made for all-day comfort and easy care. Merino wool is naturally breathable, regulates body temperature and stretches. It's also wonderfully soft and naturally resists odor. Our fine merino wool is sourced from the grasslands of Patagonia. We slow-wash it for softness and shrink resistance, without the use of chlorine, then blend it with 48% Capilene® recycled polyester for durability, quick dry-times and moisture transfer superior to that of 100% merino. Features include a self-fabric collar for chafe-free comfort and full underarm gussets for unhindered shoulder mobility.
  • Fine merino wool from the grasslands of Patagonia blended with Capilene® recycled polyester for improved wicking, durability and dry time
  • 18.9 micron-gauge yarn; jersey-knit construction
  • Slow-washed without chlorine to prevent shrinkage
  • Full underarm gusset for range of motion and chafe-free comfort
  • 4.1-oz (140-g) 52% chlorine-free merino wool/48% recycled polyester. Fabric is bluesign® approved

bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Recycled Polyester

In 1993, we adopted fleece into our product line made from post consumer recycled (PCR) plastic soda bottles. We were the first outdoor clothing manufacturer to do so. PCR® clothing was a positive step towards a more sustainable system – one that uses fewer resources, discards less and better protects people’s health.

Today, we’re able to utilize more sources for recycled polyester and offer it on more garments such as Capilene® baselayers, shell jackets, board shorts, and fleece. We now recycle used soda bottles, unusable manufacturing waste, and worn out garments (including our own) into polyester fibers to produce many of our clothes.

Using recycled polyester lessens our dependence on petroleum as a raw material source, curbs discards and reduces toxic emissions from incinerators.

Men's Merino Daily T-Shirt is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Make More I wear it under a Micro-D fleece. Super thin and adds just enough warmth out here in the Oregon Coast Range. Great indoors lying around (w same Micro-D) because it's so thin and never hot or annoying in any way. Quite the opposite, it feels cool and sensual. Great for sleeping if you need a little warmth. It's an exactly what I wanted kind of thing, and you should be making more of them asap. It's very durable, but people oughta know not to put merino wool in a dryer. Good fit, typical, not tight like a baselayer. It could be a little longer but it's ok like it is. I like the supply green and charcoal grey ones. Make more and I'll buy several. Thanks. :-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite shirt! Fits so well!! It's soft. It is warm, if you like that. Breathes well, I wash is now and then. It's already starting to pill, but I'm still happy with it. I wish I had two.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All Winter Long A few of these populate my drawer and they go through a rotation all winter long. For travel, one will suffice for at least three days. A minimal and warm layer on its own or under a variety of other layers, casual to functional.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from functionally sound, but pills I bought this on the recommendation of a friend. It's a good product in a functional sense--it's a merino shirt. It wicks, it warms. It fits well. It did start pilling on my second wearing--and these were light uses, without backpacks or gear of any kind. . That's not the end of the world for me, since I bought it primarily as an undershirt, but at this price point that's a disappointment. From a purely functional standpoint, though, and setting aside the pilling, it works as I'd hoped, and I anticipate using it a lot during this summer's adventures.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from itchy The shirt I received was surprisingly itchy, the first marino shirt I've had to do so. the fabric did not feel as soft as other marino shirts I own. However; if my shirt was a one off in terms of itchiness, than the rest of the shirt was great. the sizing was spot on, and the color looked good.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fabric Pills Like the other reviews, I noticed the fabric on the back of this shirt started pilling after wearing it on one three day backpack trip. I had bought two of them, and I regret doing so. I'm not sure why this is happening, but i cannot recommend this product. Did no one try this out before they marketed it?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pilling from the get go, otherwise awsome.
Date published: 2016-03-06
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Pilling after one wear shirt was as advertised, comfortable, quick drying, no odor, but both started pilling on the back after one wear, would expect more for the price point. Is there a way to reduce/avoid pilling?
