Traveling to the local crag or the crowded markets of Delhi, if you want to stay comfortable through a wide range of temperatures, you start with this tee. Worn alone in hot conditions, our lightest-weight Merino baselayer exchanges heat and moisture between your skin and the air to keep you cooler and more comfortable. It also layers easily as part of a system for colder weather. Merino wool is naturally breathable, regulates body temperature and stretches. It's also wonderfully soft and naturally resists odor. Ours is sourced from the grasslands of Patagonia. We slow-wash it for softness and shrink resistance, without the use of chlorine, then blend it with 35% Capilene® recycled polyester for durability and for dry times and moisture transfer superior to that of 100% merino. Features include a self-fabric collar for chafe-free comfort, full underarm gussets for unhindered shoulder mobility, low-bulk merrow seams to minimize chafing, offset shoulder and side seams to lie smoothly beneath pack straps, and a drop tail for additional coverage. Machine wash cold; machine dry at low temperatures.
  • Fine merino wool from the grasslands of Patagonia blended with Capilene® recycled polyester for improved wicking, durability and dry time
  • 18.9 micron-gauge yarn; jersey-knit construction
  • Slow-washed without chlorine to prevent shrinkage
  • Self-fabric crew at collar with internal neck tape for comfort; locker loop for hang-drying
  • Offset shoulder seams eliminate chafing under pack straps
  • Full underarm gusset for range of motion and chafe-free comfort
  • Low-bulk merrow seams to minimize chafing; drop tail for more coverage
  • 3.5-oz (120-g) 65% chlorine-free merino wool/35% recycled polyester. Fabric is bluesign® approved

Rated 4 out of 5 by from No complaints, satisfied customer Pretty standard. Exactly what I expected from Patagonia. Works well. No complaints.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not bad, but not bomb proof Had this shirt for about 5 months. It has all the advantages of wool that I love, but already has started pilling with just day-to-day wear (i.e. worn and washed almost weekly). The wear and durability are a little less than I had hoped.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Tight I found the shirt to be tight for a medium. If used as underwear or a base layer then it might be fine, but if you plan to use as a t shirt then consider sizing up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A lot of mileage running in this Tee I use this garment for running in most weather conditions from spring through summer until mid-autumn. I've tried other manufacturers and other fabrics, but they just don't compare well against this product in terms of fit and functionality. I run 8 or more miles a week. The shirt is a light weight wool blend fabric and the fit is against the skin. The shirt wicks moisture away from the body well and is not too heavy in the warmest weather. The fabric works well in this regard. It doesn't feel like I'm running in a sponge, like heavier t-shirts I've owned. Also, odor control is good. Neither fully synthetic t-shirts nor cotton t-shirts work as well for running. While synthetic t-shirts wick moisture well, they are terrible with body odor. Cotton t-shirts tend to soak up moisture like a sponge and lack the comfort. Because of the light weight fabric, the product may not hold up as well over time. Nevertheless, there is a definite benefit to the light fabric weight in terms of comfort in a variety of conditions. I have used this product for over a year and a half, running pretty much every week, twice a week. I replaced the first one after a year, with another patagonia merino 1. I've tried other shirts, but nothing else has worked as well. I highly recommend this product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not for backpacking... Was super excited for this shirt. Very light, very comfortable. Bought it for a 5 day backpacking trip through Zion NP. Liked that it never got smelly, sweat dried very fast, and it was a great fit for me. But, even after the first day backpacking, the back of the shirt was pilling really bad. By the final day, it was starting to get holes in it. I backpack frequently and have never had this issue. I was testing this shirt out because I am looking for something to control odors and hold up on a 21 day trek along the JMT next summer. Sadly, I will have to look elsewhere. Probably a great shirt for running or activities that don't rub he shirt too much.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Major strengths and weaknesses The merino wool meets expectations for wearing numerous times and managing odor. For my daily bike commute, this shirt holds up all week. Cuts down on washing. The merino however is a tad itchy, less comfortable than Capilene, and pills at friction areas where my bike bag makes contact. I purchased three of them in different colors and am questioning whether I should have jumped in with both feet. That said, the fit is spectacular and the colors are really nice. So basically, the look great and offer good odor control, but are a bit uncomfortable and question if they will be as durable as other Patagonia products. I have dark blue, red and light blue shirts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good undershirt for moderate or cool temperatures Have worn this in Florida and Oregon this summer. My shirt size is usually between small and medium; the medium size of this shirt fit me well. At temperatures in the 80s (F) or higher, this lightweight merino T-shirt (that I wear as an undershirt) didn't stay as dry for me as Capilene 1 silkweight T-shirts with any activity more vigorous than walking, especially when humidity was high. At temperatures in the 70s, with low or moderate humidity, the lightweight merino felt about as dry as Capilene 1 T-shirts and felt comfortable. When temperatures dipped into the 50s, the lightweight merino felt a little warmer. If the lightweight merino gets wet for any reason and it's windy or cool, I still feel a little warmer.
