Traveling to the local crag or the crowded markets of Delhi, if you want to stay comfortable through a wide range of temperatures, you start with this tee. Worn alone in hot conditions, our lightest-weight Merino baselayer exchanges heat and moisture between your skin and the air to keep you cooler and more comfortable. It also layers easily as part of a system for colder weather. Merino wool is naturally breathable, regulates body temperature and stretches. It's also wonderfully soft and naturally resists odor. Ours is sourced from the grasslands of Patagonia. We slow-wash it for softness and shrink resistance, without the use of chlorine, then blend it with 35% Capilene® recycled polyester for durability and for dry times and moisture transfer superior to that of 100% merino. Features include a self-fabric collar for chafe-free comfort, full underarm gussets for unhindered shoulder mobility, low-bulk merrow seams to minimize chafing, offset shoulder and side seams to lie smoothly beneath pack straps, and a drop tail for additional coverage. Machine wash cold; machine dry at low temperatures.
  • Fine merino wool from the grasslands of Patagonia blended with Capilene® recycled polyester for improved wicking, durability and dry time
  • 18.9 micron-gauge yarn; jersey-knit construction
  • Slow-washed without chlorine to prevent shrinkage
  • Self-fabric crew at collar with internal neck tape for comfort; locker loop for hang-drying
  • Offset shoulder seams eliminate chafing under pack straps
  • Full underarm gusset for range of motion and chafe-free comfort

Men's Merino Lw T-Shirt is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great first layer I purchase two of these shirts to replace two similar shirts that I purchased in 2006 that have seen constant use. My old shirts I wore out completely and certainly got my money worth out of them. I was completely satisfied with the two originals, which is why I purchased replacements. I find the light weight merino wool shirts to be very comfortable and I use them almost every day. In cold weather I use them as a base layer and often add a merino wool sweater on top of it followed by a light weight windproof shell. I can get multiple uses out of a shirt without it smelling. This is important on extended backcountry ski trips or backpacking trips. In the summer I use these shirts for running or biking. The shirt fits just right and the fabric thickness (weight) is perfect. I noted that you added a hanger tab to the new version of the shirt which is an improvement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite shirt by Patagonia It's everything great about wool and polyester. I can wear it multiple times before it needs to be washed. It saves water. I wear them regularly. I own five or six. Mine have not pilled like the other wool shirts I have from Patagonia with less capilene in the fibers. I much prefer these to Patagonia's cottons shirts, which stretch out of place. I guess I won't mind if they do pill because the fact that my shirt wasn't made in a sweatshop is more important to me. I'm 6'2. I weigh 220 lbs. I have an athletic frame. I buy a xxl and it shrinks just enough to be comfortable. I hope Patagonia expands these!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What can I say, this T-shirt is Awesome Purchased two of these t-shirts to wear in lieu of cotton t-shirt during winter. Whether to work, around the house, or out walking and hiking, I wanted to have something that was not as absorbent as cotton for base layer. I was not disappointed. In fact, I have been wearing the two t-shirts i bought almost continuously since they arrived. Just washed once. They are almost silky, very lightweight, extremely comfortable, and a joy to wear. Wish they had more colors in earth tones to work with clothes I wear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite tee shirt! This is the second one of these that I own (liked the first so much and wanted another color) and I can't say enough about them. They are lightweight, have a little bit of warmth if/when you need it but are also great in warm weather. The shirts maintain their shape after multiple wears and I probably get about 4 wears before I feel I need to wash it (even more now that it's winter and I'm not sweating in it) and it dries in a heartbeat. For a 6'1" 155 lb guy, the medium is perfect for me - if you're of similar size and like a looser fit, go with the large. This shirt has been one of the most important and reliable items in my backpack throughout 9 months of continuous travel in Europe-- these are highly recommended.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great fit Great fitting shirt and does what you would expect of a patagonia wool base layer. Smells fine after many wet bike commutes, which is awesome. Also breathes great for high intensity backcountry advetures.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not bad, but not bomb proof Had this shirt for about 5 months. It has all the advantages of wool that I love, but already has started pilling with just day-to-day wear (i.e. worn and washed almost weekly). The wear and durability are a little less than I had hoped.
