Born of shoulder-season belay duty and quick-hit ski tours, the Nano Puff® Jacket finds a home with any alpine climber or backcountry skier. Its wind-blocking, 100% recycled polyester shell sheds moisture and glides effortlessly in your layering system. Low-bulk, hydrophobic, highly compressible 60-g PrimaLoft® Gold Insulation Eco—now with 55% post-consumer recycled content, and still the most thermally efficient synthetic insulation available—traps heat with remarkable efficiency, even when wet. The jacket has a sculpted fit, with narrow horizontal quilting on the shaped side panels, and the soft, wicking interior storm flap and zipper garage add chin comfort. Its internal zippered chest pocket doubles as a self-stuffsack with a carabiner clip-in loop. It also has two zippered handwarmer pockets, elasticized cuffs and a dual-adjust drawcord hem to seal out wind and seal in warmth.
  • Lightweight, 100% recycled polyester ripstop shell and lining fabric has a DWR (durable water repellent) finish
  • The most thermally efficient synthetic insulation available now with 55% post-consumer recycled content, 60-g PrimaLoft® Gold Insulation Eco is water-repellent, highly compressible and maintains 98% of warmth, even when wet
  • Brick quilting pattern with horizontal quilt lines on side panels stabilizes insulation and uses durable thread for abrasion resistance
  • Center-front zipper has wicking interior storm flap and zipper garage at chin for next-to-skin comfort
  • Two zippered handwarmer pockets have cleanly finished zipper garages; zippered internal chest pocket doubles as a stuffsack with a reinforced carabiner clip-in loop

bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Water Resistant

DWR
(durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Men's Nano Puff Jacket is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great jacket but front zipper problems. I also own the hooded version and love these jackets but both front zippers are always catching wheather it's zipping it down or up. Finally had to send my jacket in for repairs or replacement because the front zippered failed and tore the fabic. Waiting for the same thing to happen to my hooded version. Need to come up with a different zipper.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Was a great Jacket... I bought the Nano Puff late last winter and now less than a year later the threads are coming free and falling out of the outside of the jacket. I have maybe worn this jacket for 3 months or so total. I have another warmer/bigger coat from Patagonia that I love and I like this coat also but the quality of mine is horrible for the minimal amount of wear I have put on it. I will be looking for a different brand next for this weight/type of jacket next. Considering the cost of this jacket I would expect a lot better quality. I have followed the label as to washing and drying the coat the two times I laundered it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple function I pair my Nano Puff with a R1 pullover and find this combination perfect for most winter days in Bend, Oregon. I am 5' 7", 150#, and fit a medium with a relaxed fit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Jacket that is functional and classic style I have had my nano puff jacket for over 3 years and it is perfect for the weather in the PNW. It is great for layering, looks good and when folded up in the inside pocket has been my camping pillow on several occasions. It has held up well with some threads unraveling and and few tears here and there, and the rip stop weave makes the tears stay small. The only drawbacks is that water will go right through it in moderate rain or heavy rain, soaking under layers if you are caught in an unexpected storm for longer than 20 minutes. It will continue to be warm, but you will be wet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Jacket When Layered Wore this jacket everyday for 3 months straight on a NOLS course. When layered correctly with a capilene base layer and an R4 fleece it is quite warm. Nice and lightweight for backpacking. Have worn for anything from walking to get coffee on a cold morning to windy days on the Deschutes chasing native red sides and have always been satisfied. Again it is not something that you can wear as just a jacket by itself but when used correctly it is one of my favorite pieces of gear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sizing I really wanted the Nano Puff Jacket, but wasn't sure of the size. I used the online chat to ask a customer service representative and she came to the conclusion that I'd need a medium (she even sent me the measurements of the garment, which was nice). For me, it seemed that I would be in between size M and L, so I decided to go to a retailer locally to try on both the medium and large. I'm 6'1" and weigh 175lbs. I have a 45" chest, 34" arms and a 32" waist. I am very athletic and lean. I tried on both the medium and large. The medium was like it was tailor fitted to me. My shoulders had enough room, the chest wasn't tight and when I reached out with my arms, they didn't ride up or pull on my back. The waist was perfectly fitted around my hips with very little space. This is exactly what I was looking for. I tried on the large as well to compare. There was a little more space in the shoulders and chest, but it wasn't too big and very fit very nicely. The arms weren't too long either, they were actually very close to the medium. The waist area is where there was more room. Around my trunk and my waist is where the extra material was apparent. Again, it wasn't too much and I actually considered buying the large for extra space if I wanted to wear a thick sweater or sweatshirt under it, but I don't usually do that anyway as I run pretty hot usually. I'd say if you have a bit of girth in the middle or have a 34 - 36" waist - get the large. It'll still fit very nicely and give you a little extra space. In the end, I ordered a yellow Nano Puff in medium directly from Patagonia since the store I tried them on only carried dark colors. I can't wait to try this out in the fall/winter this year. Hope this review helps. I know it's always difficult to figure out what size to get without trying it on. I'll follow-up with a performance review later in the year.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Tight neck I had an older version for 3-4 years. It was perfect. I'm 5'9", 185 pounds. Athletic build but putting on the pounds in my mid 40s. Unfortunately, I lost my jacket over the summer and ordered a new one online (from REI). I knew it changed the second I zipped it up and it hit my chin. I recommend you try on this jacket before ordering. If it fits you then you will love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from "Sculptured fit" is right, but it's good Just picked up a new Nano Puff in the carbon color. Fit is great...I got an L. I'm 6'0" 190 and it's perfect. Sleeves are slightly long, but I'm a 34" sleeve. I have two down sweaters and I think this is warmer, and I like the quilted pattern that allows no slippage. One thing...the carbon color is a brighter green than depicted here.
