Finely tuned for self-supported travel into deep, wild places where the commitment is greater, but the rewards are deeper, our Reconnaissance Pants are made for all-day movement through the changeable backcountry. Our most breathable snow shell, they have a supple, double-weave soft-shell fabric throughout the legs, paired with waterproof/breathable 3-layer fabric reinforcements with 2-way stretch for a hardworking blend of breathable comfort and durable weather-protection. A DWR (durable water repellent) finish prevents saturation and sheds snow and muck. The snow-seal gaiters form a tight bond over boots when you’re postholing, and scuff guards add durability. Zippers on low-profile cuffs allow easy access to boot buckles and a two-snap closure system, with integrated cord management, provides a snug fit when you’re using crampons or climbing shoes. For long uphills or big spring days, side vents allow a cooling airflow. Expandable thigh pockets lay flat for aerodynamics yet easily hold your hat and gloves when you break out the thermos for lunch. With an articulated fit designed for freedom of movement and an embedded RECCO® avalanche rescue reflector.

Men's Reconnaissance Pants is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Alaska Certified I bought these pants a month ago and have been in them quite a bit. 6'1'' and I wear 34/34 length jeans. I bought a large and these fit great. I was concerned about the pants being too short, but they are perfect. I have worn these backcountry skiing (25+ F degree days) and at a resort on cold (single digit days) and have not had a problem with being either too hot or cold. ...and since I am not cold, the hybrid flex is soooooo welcome. Only complaint, suspenders or bib style is preferred. Right now I have added suspenders with clips, which seem to be working fine. This is my one and only pant and so far, it seems to cover everything.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Pants, but... I used these last week for one dat of resort skiing and 3 days BC skiing. The only problem or improvement would be to have two zipper pulls on the fly so you don't have to unbutton the waist buttons and pull the zipper under your pack belt. Put another zipper that pulls from the bottom like all BD pants have. This will make pit stops much better!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's like you're wearing nothing at all! Recently purchased. Have worn a few days each skinning, lifts, and x country in the Northwestern Mountains of Maine. The Carbon color is more of a dark evergreen, not what I expected but a great color nontheless. I'm 6'5" 36+ waist and the XL fits great, fairly slim cut but easy to move around in. The cuffs fit fine over my alpine boots and are plenty tight to keep the snow out on my x-country boots. They are weightless, which brings up my only concern, long term wear. Time will tell. On the coldest of days you can feel the breeze in the crotch, but the ventilation is a fair trade off. Just don't forget your long johns! They are light enough, I look forward to wearing them as a canoe pant for fishing the ponds in the spring.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Dope Nice new edition to these pants! Many of the areas that wore one the old version have been updated. These pants are a great value with goretex outer and Patagonia inner construction. I bought medium and have a 32 waist and 34 inseam and they fit great!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful pant. Needs a higher avy pocket. Beautiful pant. Light-weight, well made. I think they ran into trouble trying to market this to climbers and to skiers. The hook for boot laces was really weird and sticky on ski boot buckles; the thigh pockets are too low, big and deep for an avalanche beacon (but great for dropping in a hat or gloves). Great pant that is only a few modifications away from being perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BASIC BUT FANTASTIC I HAVE BEEN SNOWBOARDING ALL WINTER IN THESE AND THEY HAVE KEPT ME DRY AND WARM. THE BELT KEEPS THE PANTS UP. THE LEGS ARE JUST BIG ENOUGH TO GET OVER MY BOOTS. I DON'T USE THE POCKETS VERY MUCH. THE STRETCHY MATERIAL BETWEEN THE LEGS IS ACTUALLY REALLY NICE AS FAR AS EASE OF MOVEMENT AND COMFORT GO. HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR ANY TYPE OF SNOW SPORT.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best pants that I have ever had I have been skiing for 45 years and I spend of a lot of my ski days in the side country or backcountry. These pants are well designed for protection from the variety of elements, while being unrestrictive in any needed movement. Top drawer
