We go to Whitewater for 2,000 vertical feet of Backside Bowl bliss, which on most days translates to a heaping helping of damp cold to go along with your serving of overhead. The Rubicon combines a tough shell fabric and stay-warm-when-wet insulation to keep you warm and comfortable ripping it up while everyone else is holed up with a latté and chili mac. The exterior is made of durable, 100% polyester ripstop with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish to snub wind and moisture. Inside, a soft layer of compressible 150-g Thermogreen® polyester (90% recycled) insulation (100-g Thermogreen® in the sleeves) adds heat to thwart icebox temperatures. Finer points include articulated arms; pit zips; an easy-gliding liner; a zip-off powder skirt (with webbing loop that attaches to any Patagonia® Snow pants); a helmet-compatible hood with a single-hand adjustment; and zippered pockets, including two handwarmers, one chest with media pocket and cable routing and one internal stash. There's also an internal drop-in for gloves and goggles, and an embedded RECCO® avalanche rescue reflector.
  • Durable, polyester ripstop fabric is breathable and water-resistant
  • Lightweight, compressible 150-g Thermogreen® 100% polyester (90% recycled) insulation in the body and 100-g Thermogreen 100% polyester (90% recycled) in the sleeves, stays warm even when wet
  • Helmet-compatible hood has an easy-to-use, single-hand adjustment; soft microfleece panels at back of neck and chin; pit zips quickly release heat; articulated arms increase mobility
  • Removable, lightweight stretch-woven powder skirt; snap-secured webbing loop at center back connects to any Patagonia® Snow pants
  • Zippered pockets: two handwarmers, with soft fleece lining for comfort; one interior stash, and one interior media pocket with cable routing. Other pockets: one chest with snap; one internal drop-in for goggles or gloves
  • Adjustable low-profile cuff secures over or under gloves; drawcord hem; drawcord exits into handwarmers for adjustment
  • Concealed RECCO® reflector

Men's Rubicon Jacket is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for the cold I bought this jacket a few months ago and couldn't be happier with it. First of all, the fit: I'm 6'1'' and 175 lbs. with fairly long arms and I usually wear a large but the medium was a much better fit. Secondly, the functionality: I wanted a snow/ski jacket that wasn't too bulky with material but still kept me warm. This jacket does that exactly. It's comfortable/lightweight enough that it doesn't feel like a snow/ski jacket and warm enough that I could just wear one layer underneath and still stay warm during the winter in Colorado! Also, I love the all black look so I was glad that they had that option. The only thing I would complain about is that chest pocket button that fell off much too easily. It was, however, an easy fix with some super glue. ALSO, I love having a lot of interior pockets. So clearly this was the jacket for me. I would highly recommend anyone to buy this jacket! Great job on this one, Patagonia.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovin' It I love puffy jackets. My previous puffy was worn out and starting to tear, so it was time for an upgrade. I've always been a fan of Patagonia's products and their philosophy as a company. This jacket did not disappoint. It's comfortable, extremely well made, and super warm, almost too warm. Perfect for blizzard conditions. The only recommendation I can make, is that it would be nice if there were wrist gators to go under gloves so snow doesn't go up your sleeve.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Functional, sleek I get cold fairly easily, so I wanted a jacket that had some insulation but was not overly bulky. This jacket does the perfect job! Some of the more expensive jackets that have less material are amazing, but if you are looking for something that is a little easier on the wallet, this is your jacket. I am 6' 5" and a thin build, so it is difficult for me to find clothes that fit me well, but I would give the Rubicon a 9/10 for fit satisfaction. Would definitely recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, functional, comfortable Everything I wanted from a ski jacket. It's actually so good at keeping me warm and the hood is so good at keeping out rain/snow that I'll often wear it around Boston. It regulates temperature very well, makes it hard to overheat. Was perfect for skiing this past weekend, and the yellow color gave great visibility.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great jacket, sizing isn't great Bought this jacket for skiing on the coldest of Canadian days, it is amazingly warm just a base layer under it skiing at minus 15 Only problem is the sizing make sue you try all the sizing and get the right one!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from True to description except.... We bought this coat in November. It's incredibly warm and true to size. The only issue we had was with the front pocket button. The first time we opened the pocket the button came apart from the flap, therefore it no longer clasps shut.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for work and play! Purchased this for my husband as a Christmas gift, and he has been wearing it nonstop! The black color has accents on the hood, but is very sleek. It's been great for both work and play. It's got a lightweight feel, but keeps you toasty warm. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a versatile option.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent cold weather jacket I bought this jacket right before the Holidays and luckily Utah has been been getting some solid storms. This jacket has kept me warm in high wind days on top of the mountain where temps have read close to 0 degrees. I highly recommend this jacket.
