The 7" Strider Pros blend enhanced protection and coverage with additional storage for the long haul. The polyester crepe boxer-brief liner (with Polygiene® permanent odor control) wicks, adds chafe-free comfort and is light, fast drying and highly breathable. Four overlapping, stretchy-mesh back hip pockets (2 on each side) carry what you need for a full day of mountain running; an additional stretchy, card-sized center-back pocket closes securely with a zipper. The durable and stretchy pockets lie flat and won’t flap when empty, but expand generously to hold everything from energy gels to a Houdini® Jacket. A smooth, fast-drying 100% polyester micro dobby forms the shorts’ body, while 100% polyester mesh panels (on the outer thighs) and side splits increase ventilation. Brushed elastic lines the low-bulk waistband and the sturdy drawcord ties externally. With a reflective logo on the left hem, a locker loop for hang drying and a DWR (durable water repellent) finish.

Odor Resistant

Polygiene® odor control permanently protects your garments from smelling like a middle school locker room. Sweat itself is odorless, but it creates the conditions that bacteria need to multiply, and some of those bacteria produce odors. Polygiene permanent odor control stops the growth of odor-causing bacteria on fabrics, so you can wear more and wash less.

Active only on the fabric surface, Polygiene permanent odor control does not interfere with perspiration or with the skin’s natural bacterial flora. Polygiene particles are more than 100 times larger than nanoparticles and therefore are too large to penetrate to the skin’s barrier. Polygiene-treated fabrics have received Medical Class 1 approval in Europe, the same class that includes bandages.

Men's Strider Pro Shorts - 7" is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite running/workout shorts of all time I love the update compression short liner. The liner does not ride up and feels very comfortable. I am also a huge fan of the pockets, which fits my iPhone X easily and tons of protein bars, Houdini, car keys and wallet, etc. I highly recommend the shores.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely love these shorts. I've used these shorts for trail running, mountain trail days and about everywhere in between and love them. I was skeptical of the boxer-brief liner and now can't imagine running shorts without them. I've had no trouble with chafing or with the liner riding up. Super comfortable and great for long days on the trail.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Shorts Ever! Pocket design is awesome, fits my iPhone 6 in its case. The back zipper pocket is slightly uncomfortable when doing situps on hard ground, but with some adjustment that is avoidable. Love the liner and fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good in the wet I did the Boston 2018 marathon in these, torrential rain and wind and no chafing. Smooth and comfortable as you like, had 4 lots of GU gels and my Iphone 7 stored away for the run and hardly knew they were there. Hold up well in extreme wet conditions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Evolution of running shorts... My old running shorts are now only, "good," since I've started wearing the Strider Pro shorts. Chafe --> Impossible. And, great for the gym, as well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Compression short liner is weird The liner makes the shorts disheveled all the time. A brief liner would be better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very comfortable for long runs An excellent product. I now own two! The long liner is comfortable, and does not ride up or chafe even after 10+ miles of running (I've personally run up to 20 miles in comfort). The pockets work excellently, though an older model does not hold a cell phone in the zippered pocket (I think this was corrected with the current model). One comment indicated odor issues with these shorts. I haven't had that problem, at least not yet. I haven't had these too long, but so far the odor issues are not nearly as bad as with other synthetic clothing. I personally wear wool whenever possible for its comfort, and wool is known for excellent odor resistance. So far, these shorts do not smell much worse than my running shorts with a merino wool liner. I'll have to see how the odor issues work after more washings. Overall, I am very pleased with these shorts! Thanks, Patagonia!
