We make our Strider Shorts for the most devoted trail runners. These ultralightweight, breathable, fast-drying running shorts use a 50-denier 100% polyester fabric with DWR (durable water repellent) finish that resists moisture, while 100% polyester mesh panels on the outer thigh use a highly breathable fabric to ensure you stay cool. The built-in, open-knit, 100% polyester crepe liner (with Polygiene® permanent odor control) dries fast, weighs little and wicks and breathes freely. The covered elastic waistband has a sturdy internal drawcord that secures the fit, and the pocket sits in the center back (with zipper closure), keeping the front clean for a smooth stride. Reflective logo at left hem; 7" inseam with a 2" split.

Odor Resistant

Polygiene® odor control permanently protects your garments from smelling like a middle school locker room. Sweat itself is odorless, but it creates the conditions that bacteria need to multiply, and some of those bacteria produce odors. Polygiene permanent odor control stops the growth of odor-causing bacteria on fabrics, so you can wear more and wash less.

Active only on the fabric surface, Polygiene permanent odor control does not interfere with perspiration or with the skin’s natural bacterial flora. Polygiene particles are more than 100 times larger than nanoparticles and therefore are too large to penetrate to the skin’s barrier. Polygiene-treated fabrics have received Medical Class 1 approval in Europe, the same class that includes bandages.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice shorts Nice shorts, but they have no side pockets, and run very tight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shorts I use these for running and all other gym work outs. Easy to move in and very comfortable. The pockets are great. I am built lean (muscular not stick) and wear a large. Accidentally ordered a medium and they were very snug.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really light Great supportive shorts. Like the brief liner better than the boxer brief liner in other shorts. No problems with chafing and they breathe really well. The external key holder/pocket zipper in the back is a definite improvement over the internal pocket that was in the previous version of these shorts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Shorts Great pair of running shorts. Perfect fit, loose but not too loose. The back pocket just fits my iPhone7 and you can barely notice it back there. Just bought the 'Pro' version I loved these so much

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 200 Grit About 2.5 miles into a 5 mile run, just at the point where I couldn't be any further from home, I began to experience some mild chafing on my first run in my new Strider Shorts. By mile 3 it was getting critical. By mile 4 I tried to substitute the sleeve of my long sleeve shirt for the liner of the shorts. 4.5 miles in I gave up on the support of the liner all together and let everything hang free. Had the tagline for these shorts been "There Will Be Blood" I would have been better prepared for my arrival home post-run. I'm not completely opposed to lining a running short with sandpaper, but the grit has to be right. If the Strider were lined with 60 grit, I would have immediately known to put on an extra pair of briefs for protection. 1600 grit and everything would have had a nice gloss polish at the end of mile 5. Patagonia's choice of 200 grit is interesting as it really only goes noticed about 20 minutes into a run, at which point you can over-sand if you keep going. The good news with the Strider Short is that skin heals & coconut oil works wonders on nasty abrasions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As good as shorts get Simple and very well designed. The back-pocket for a card or keys is an improvement over the previous version and is in general a very handy feature.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect combination of light and supportive These shorts are fantastic. Keep everything "together" while not weighing me down. Will definitely be buying another pair.
