Men's Thunder Cloud Down Parka is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Jacket Picked this jacket up around Christmas 2016 and I've been really happy with it. I'm 6ft 4 inches and weigh 160lbs and I went with the large. The medium was a bit too tight and XL would be good if I weighed another 25+ pounds I'd imagine. The large fits tight but not too tight so I can still get a sweater on underneath, which is nice for when I get to school or wherever and I take the jacket off. I also live in Saskatchewan, Canada and a typical winter day is -30°C and often we get -40°C with some seriously cold winds. The jacket is nice and warm; you can tighten the waist up and despite what others have said about wanting hand pockets towards the bottom of the jacket I think it makes more sense having them where they are at the chest since your body is producing more heat there. All in all I'm very please with the jacket as an every day commuting and casual jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fit I am 6ft, 185. I purchased a Large -- returned for a medium. I like a tighter fit and don't plan to layer with such a heavy jacket. Works for me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Really warm, but.... I work in Boston, and my commute entails a .9 mile walk each way across town every day. This parka is definitely warm, even is the coldest, windiest, worst weather. This would be a perfect 5 stars except for two bigger issues, and minor one. First, The biggest annoyance as noted by many other reviewers are the hand pockets. I know I was warned by other reviews on this but I thought I'd be ok anyway and could get over it but it's really bothersome! These chest pockets are terrible, uncomfortable, awkward, and not even warm. And so are the two lower ones! They are even worse! Why cant there just be two regular, normal, hand pockets at lower level just like the pockets in the down sweater jacket (which i give 5 stars to!!!)? Also the lower pockets are barely large enough to hold gloves. And also not warm. Second issue - also noted by others is the cheap junky zippers! Serious? This is lot of money for this parka and you put terrible, fragile cheapo zippers on it? My third issue is just that when this is zipped up high near your face, the fabric is definitely not comfortable touching your face - it is stiff and rough - they could have sewed in a patch or two of that softer stuff many jackets have. Minor but would be a nice touch... Otherwise, pockets aside, this is a great brutal weather parka and does the job.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great coat I love the coat but wish there was down in front of the top pockets to keep your hands warm when using the pockets. The wind went thru.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Nice Jacket! After returning the Wanaka Jacket that i bought in size Medium, which was WAY to big. I bought this in Small which fits perfectly. I'm 5'10", 140. My only gripes, and these are pretty small grips: Collar is VERY tall, and hand warmer pockets should be fleece lined. Other than that, i really like this jacket.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nearly 5 Stars I bought this parka last fall and have used it in the New England winter since. It's a I've had this for one New England winter and it's a great coat. From the position of the lower snap for easy sitting to the two layers of arm cuffs that keep out snow and cold, it's well designed. I can fit a water bottle, a pair of gloves or Kindle in the lower pockets. The insulated hood is very comfortable and the outer layer feels bombproof. I was looking for something to wear while waiting outside for the trolley or bus that would not require a lot of layering and thus taking off tons of layers onboard. It mostly meets that need. The few downsides are 1. the location of the uninsulated hand pockets, which are not only too high and awkward, but also leave both my hands and arms cold, which brings me to 2. the overall warmth of the parka. I bought this parka because it claims to be for extreme cold. I just am not feeling that to be true. I was expecting to be warm with just a tee shirt and button down in below-freezing temps, but unless I was active (walking) it didn't do that. Part of this is because of 3. the length, which did not come to my mid-thigh. It's more like top of the thigh at best. It does cover my butt, which is what I needed, but I wish it was just 2-3 inches longer. It fit's perfectly in every other way (I got an XS and I'm 5'7, 135 slim/athletic build). Overall, great winter coat most of the time with a few disappointing details. Hand warmer pockets in a more typical position along with the same amount of 800-fill-power down would have made this a 5-star parka for me for standing around or taking photos outside. It's an improvement from my last winter coat, the Down Sweater, but the price leaves me wanting more.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from NO HAND WARMER POCKETS! I bought this coat and love everything about it except for one fatal flaw, and i do mean fatal, as I am going to be sending it back tomorrow. No hand warmer pockets. Every Patagonia winter coat i've ever had, and I've had a bunch over the years, have nice, warm, soft interior, insulated hand warmer pockets that you love putting your hands in when it's cold outside. This coat has no such thing, I guess you could un-flap the lower front cargo pockets and shove your hands in there, but they are not insulated, and clearly not meant to warm up your hands. And it's not like there wouldn't be room for hand warmer pocket right behind those cargo pockets. This is a bonehead design flaw on what would otherwise be an awesome winter coat for the coldest winter days. Sad.
