R2 Hybrid Booties is rated 2.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Please offer non-split toe booties! The cut, quality and lining are exceptional, as with all Patagonia wetsuit items I own. However, I use them to abalone free dive, not surf, and the split toe is terrible. It is uncomfortable and chafes horribly. I realize the focus of this product line is surfing, and am assuming the split toe offers a dexterity advantage for surfers, but even when scrambling over cliffs to get to that rare location (wearing water shoes over the booties), I find the split toe to do the opposite...I can grip the ground worse than with a traditional, toe box bootie, so I am a bit baffled. Also, there aren't enough sizes. A booty needs to fit extremely well if it is to be worn at all outside the water (e.g. on the way to your water activity), and having each size encompass multiple American shoe sizes forces you to usually choose between too loose and too tight.
