Heading up the coast gets you far from the crowd, but the trade-off is thumping beachbreak and plenty of cold westerly wind. With a light and fast-drying 88% recycled polyester/12% spandex microgrid thermal lining, the durable R3® Cap offers additional warmth for your head and ears, keeping you comfortable through chilly surf, kite or bodysurf sessions. Made from flexible 3mm neoprene, the 3-panel construction conforms to the head for a comfortable fit, and a Supratex neck strap with spandex binding keeps the cap secure. Seams have spot tape reinforcements for strength and durability; a PU-laminated brim shields your face from the sun.

Recycled Polyester

In 1993, we adopted fleece into our product line made from post consumer recycled (PCR) plastic soda bottles. We were the first outdoor clothing manufacturer to do so. PCR® clothing was a positive step towards a more sustainable system – one that uses fewer resources, discards less and better protects people’s health.

Today, we’re able to utilize more sources for recycled polyester and offer it on more garments such as Capilene® baselayers, shell jackets, board shorts, and fleece. We now recycle used soda bottles, unusable manufacturing waste, and worn out garments (including our own) into polyester fibers to produce many of our clothes.

Using recycled polyester lessens our dependence on petroleum as a raw material source, curbs discards and reduces toxic emissions from incinerators.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Functional I love this bonnet for when it's warm enough to not wear my hooded vest! It's easy to put on with and I don't have to deal with tucking anything into my wetsuit. I've had other bonnets with Velcro straps that always come undone. I really like that this strap is all one piece!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great warmth, wind blockage Perfect for those days where its still warm and the wind is howling. Keeps the heat in and fits well. The chin strap is comfortable and non-irritating. Almost a little too stretchy (had it parachute on me once getting dragged after a wipeout), a perfect fall staple.
