Rated 5 out of 5 by Akersofivy from Awesome active undies Admittedly I never tried the older model, but I picked these up with the matching active mesh bra on a Red Rocks trip in March and I'm in love. The breathable and quick drying fabric is comfortable and perfect for hiking, climbing, backpacking, travel... everything!

Rated 1 out of 5 by deb24 from New design is a no go I have been purchasing this product for over 10 years and every couple of years there is a design tweak. This years tweak is too much and I will no longer be purchasing this product. The small fits like at least an XS. The band around the hips is slimmer. And the fit is much smaller and lower. I've attached an image of the last 3 times I have purchased the exact same product. You can see how over the years it has shrunk.

Rated 3 out of 5 by tiggeribby from Added an uncomfortable tag to the design I just received an order of 5 pairs and was very disappointed to find tags sewn into the panties. In underwear, particularly that designed for sports, tags are incredibly uncomfortable and their removal is essentially mandatory. This product did not previously have tags; my older pairs have the care instructions printed on the inside with your logo. It took me 20 minutes with nail clippers to cut the tags out of these 5 pairs, and it is not easy to remove them without damaging the underlying fabric and seam. I hope Patagonia will reconsider the use of tags; most companies are moving AWAY from tags and certainly are not adding large, stiff, difficult-to-remove, uncomfortable ones. I have been buying these for 15 years and this is the first time I have seen tags. Not a good addition. In addition, I should mention that the main reason that I have to buy replacement underwear is that the seam at the waist is not terribly durable and tends to give out if I catch it on a fingernail while putting them on. Adding the tag to the weakest point of the garment (i.e. the waist seam) means that it is easy to inadvertently damage the seam while removing the tags; if there MUST be tags it would be better to attach them above the waist seam rather than right on top of it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by BigLittle from Different cut this year, no longer a "hipster" For the past few years I've been wearing and raving to everyone who would listen about these undies. I hike every day and these felt comfy and stayed put. Ordered a new pair this February 2017 and the cut is now way too low. Usually they sit on your hips but this new pair barely covered my crack, and definitely not if I had the audacity to bend over or squat. I am so disappointed in this change!

Rated 2 out of 5 by montanamama from Bummer The active hipsters have been my all-time favorite undies for a few years now, and I was looking forward to putting a new pair in rotation. Disappointingly, the cut and fabric have both been changed. The cut is a bit skimpier across the backside and the fabric is flimsier than the original. I am so bummed to say that I won't buy these again unless they bring back the features that originally made them so great.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Snowhouse from Smaller Every Year First bought these in 2011 approx, and they were perfect fit---even though I am a small in everything Patagonia, I needed a size Large for some reason. But still, excellent fit. Was very happy with that design and still have them. Then the new style/design came out (32408)and they were smaller, with thinner waistband and less coverage overall. Very sad I did not buy more previously. I returned them. Now another new design (32409) and they are smaller still. Returning these as well. Please bring back the older design. I believe it is style #32407. Or something similar. From the reviews, it looks like many people would like to see the old fit come back. I'm with them. Thank you!
