Odor Resistant

Polygiene® odor control permanently protects your garments from smelling like a middle school locker room. Sweat itself is odorless, but it creates the conditions that bacteria need to multiply, and some of those bacteria produce odors. Polygiene permanent odor control stops the growth of odor-causing bacteria on fabrics, so you can wear more and wash less.

Active only on the fabric surface, Polygiene permanent odor control does not interfere with perspiration or with the skin’s natural bacterial flora. Polygiene particles are more than 100 times larger than nanoparticles and therefore are too large to penetrate to the skin’s barrier. Polygiene-treated fabrics have received Medical Class 1 approval in Europe, the same class that includes bandages.

Women's Active Hipster is rated 2.8 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from New design is skimpier Having had these before, I ordered my usual size. I returned my original first two pair due to them coming unsewn around the waistband, so hoping these new ones would last longer. I’m so bummed to find them cut lower than the previous ones of a few years back. They are way too low cut for active wear, in my opinion. Now I wish I had kept my older ones, and just had them repaired instead of returning them. So, two issues; they come unsewn around the top elastic easily, and now they are made much skimpier. I’m looking into returning these as well, and trying the brief instead. They look higher- like my older Hipsters were. Grrr... what a hassle and disappointment both. Size SM fits my 5’4” , 115# body pretty good.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Majorly disappointed in redesign Years ago I bought a couple pairs of these and swore I'd never have to search for comfortable, active underwear again. Since then I bought 6 more pairs, and they have been through a lot of wear. As others have said, the waistband does come unraveled after what I'd call a year of heavy use. I still use them anyway. It's annoying but hasn't really bothered me enough to stop wearing them. What has changed my opinion of this product is the redesign. I bought 3 pairs of the new design over 8 months ago and man was it a disappointment. As others have noted, they are smaller, with a thinner band, a lower rise, and not only that but the rise falls at a weird spot on at least my body. They also seem to be more cheaply made. Either way, I thought alright, they are probably still better than others out there on the market, so I kept them. Now I avoid wearing them at all costs... they sit untouched as the last resort in my underwear drawer. Save yourself the money and don't buy again until Patagonia goes back to the old design... I certainly won't! Such a disappointment to see Patagonia designs no longer working for so many women!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable, good fit, functional I bought two of these underwear prior to a weeklong camping trip to south central Alaska. I've bought other synthetic blend underwear for backpacking/camping (basically any sweaty activity), and these are easily the most impressive, my favorites. They are super comfortable, stay in place, soft fine-knit fabric, and they breathe and dry quickly.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not durable Most comfortable underwear I've ever worn, however, out of 5 that I purchased, the waistband stitching of 4 came out in a very short time. I'm disappointed that a product at this price point doesn't last longer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent for comfort, but perhaps not durable? I bought two pair for hiking the Mont Blanc trail, and I instantly fell in love. I agree with other reviewers that they are smaller than other hipster cuts--they fit more like a bikini--but I gave them a shot and am SO glad that I didn't. They are super comfortable, and they dry very quickly after a handwashimg. They really are the only underwear I ever want to wear now. The only problem is that one of them already started to unravel by the leg. And I just saw that Patagonia doesn't do repairs on underwear. Major disappointment, as I've already recommended these to people and I want more myself!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from even better Love these active undies. I use them for fishing and hot yoga. The dry well and are never heavy feeling, even when soaked. Buy them, they are the best.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Waistband comes undone I'm having the same problem with these as with the Active Brief. After a year or so of light wear, the waistband sewing comes undone and the band unfolds. I have worn Patagonia briefs for decades and this only started happening to items made in the last few years.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from ITCHY!!! I bought these, along with the Active Briefs, two months ago. I really liked them at first and was tempted to get rid of my old Wal-Mart underwear, I am glad I didn't. After wearing them for a while they have become itchy and uncomfortable to wear. Instead of reaching for these in the morning I am looking for my old, cotton undies. I don't know if it is the type of materials used to make them or if it is something else entirely, but either way they are very itchy. I usually love Patagonia products, but this was a thumbs down for me.
