bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Traceable Down Insulation

Patagonia Traceable Down provides the highest assurance of animal welfare in the apparel industry. Every down cluster, in every one of our down products, comes exclusively from birds that were never force-fed and never live-plucked. How do we know? Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super warm I am very cold natured and so far this jacket has done very good at keeping me warm. I wear a 12-14 size top but usually layer my clothing. I purchased an xl to allow for layers and I am so glad I did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Jacket. Awesome Quality I got this jacket in the purple/navy color and it is absolutely beautiful; I received many compliments. The quality and material is absolutely amazing! It's so comfortable and warm, it makes those "below freezing" days bearable. Very insulated. I haven't really had any serious problems with lint; the material of the jacket is bound to attract some type of lint, but I haven't experienced any of the severe lint problems mentioned in the previous reviews. Overall, this is a great jacket. Well worth the price. If you're contemplating on buying it, do it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this jacket! I love this jacket so much! I seriously want to wear it every day! It's so comfortable, warm, and best of all, waterproof! I usually wear a medium but bought a large so I could wear another jacket/sweatshirt underneath!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super warm! I've had this jacket for a couple months. I'm from Alaska and this is by farm the warmest coat I've had in years. I think the extra outer shell with a down interior does the trick! Coat looks good too and I get a lot of compliments. minor issue, is the exterior seems to collect lint, hair and other things pretty easy, so its slightly annoying but overall serves it purpose well- keeps me warm in Alaska's super cold winter and looks good! Good job Patagonia!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrific All Purpose Forever Jacket After wearing my Bivy vest all Fall and loving it (for warmth, wind and water resistance, and palette), I couldn't help but get this sleeved version a month ago to be well suited for winter in MN. I'm very, very happy I did. My torso is never cold, in all types of winter from icy-snowy to sleety-frigid. This is now my go-to everyday jacket that I expect will last a lifetime.
