Organic Cotton

In 1996, with an increased awareness of the dangers of pesticide use and synthetic fertilizers in growing conventional cotton, we began the exclusive use of organically grown cotton in all of our cotton products.

The quality of organic cotton is equal to or better than conventionally grown cotton, yet organically grown methods support biodiversity and healthy ecosystems, improve the quality of soil and often use less water. Growing organically takes more time, requires more knowledge and skill, and, for now, costs more. But it’s worth it.

To ensure we are buying cotton that is organic as defined by the USDA’s National Organic Program, we require numerous certificates issued by an accredited third-party certification body for every step of the supply chain, from farm to factories.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great layer! I am 5'5", 120lbs, 30D and XS fits well. It's certainly not curvy, and there's no stretch. It's a little tight buttoned up, but I use it as a lightweight jacket to block wind and sun. It's great! It's very comfortable and washes well. I have not put it in the dryer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hopper Take note this is relaxed. Unfortunately I ordered a LRG at 36D knowing that some Patagonia shirts used to be tight in chest - that was years ago - looking at my recent purchases, it appears Patagonia has tailored their line for a more authentic, athletic, muscular (muscles - yes we have them) build. This is really a large fit allover, more than just roomy, remembering when a LRG was trimmer in the waist

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Shirt! This is very good for sun protection in warmer climates. It's another versatile shirt and at home on the beach, farmers market, and around town. I'm enjoying how the fabric breathes and have found it to be very easy care...washes great and after 5 minutes in the dryer I just hang to dry the rest of the way...comes out perfect...no shrinkage. For size reference - I am usually an 8 or 10 in Patagonia's LS shirts. I am 5'5", 140, 37 chest, athletic build with broad shoulders. I purchased a 10 and it is a nice, neat fit...could probably wear an 8, but was not looking for form-fitting in this shirt. Can wear this shirt most of the year in Florida so consider it a great purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks and functionality. This shirt is built for fishing, which it does well. It is also a good looking travel and grocery shopping shirt that requires zero care. This print might look "girly" but it stands up well Baja sink washes and cactus cloths lines.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shirt for any activity I got this shirt in the blue checkered color and really like it. It has slightly stiffer fabric that gives it a little more formal look and feel than you typical fishing shirt. It also feels like it will hold up well to hard use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's back! THANK YOU for bringing back my favorite travel blouse fabric! Wore 8's in old sizing; in this I bought blue in S and the coral/pink in M and ended up keeping both though with wear the S looks better on but no extra room. Only 4 stars as the pockets are a bit small, and the shirt no longer has feminine shape. Old styles all had more side seam shaping, new one fits like a man's shirt so baggy in waist, bit snug on top and hips. Pattern is nice, muted plaid that goes well over tanks and shells. And fabric still wonderful, cool, easy care but enough cotton for comfort. Thanks for bringing back the Island Hopper for women!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from just not a great fit there are those shirts you reach for and then those shirts you just wear...this has become the latter for me. material is good, colors are cute, but my biggest complaint is the fit...a regular fit can still be feminine, but without any darts in the torso area whatsoever, it just falls straight off my chest and is not that flattering. i'm 5'5" 135lbs and a medium feels a bit bulky, while a smaller size doesn't leave enough room for casting, although maybe that's just a result of my shoulders. i like the zippered chest pocket for when I'm fishing...my cell phone/fishing license/etc doesn't bang around on either arm while casting.
