Sophisticated, yet simple, the Long-Sleeved Overcast Shirt shields you from sun and chilly dusk seaside winds as expertly as it does insatiable mosquitos. UPF Fabric

Lacking fur, feathers or scales, we humans have to think up clever ways to protect ourselves from the sun. Products with the UPF designation provide built-in sun protection that won’t wear off.

To achieve sun protection, Patagonia takes a varied approach, depending on the degree of protection desired and the fabric used. Elements of the strategy can range from yarn selection to fabric construction to the use of special finishes (especially for light colors which generally provide less protection).

Women's Long-Sleeved Overcast Shirt is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 43.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from My favorite for fishing on hot & sunny days! This shirt does the trick of being lightweight & comfortable while offering protection from the sun. It is a much thinner material than the Island Hop or Sol Patrol shirts. I like this shirt, but I did want to mention that it runs small. I own both the Island Hop & Sol Patrol shirts in small and have this one in a size 4. This one fits significantly tighter (especially in the shoulders) and is also a bit shorter. I would recommend sizing up!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good fit and styling - terrible wrinkles Purchased a few of these overcast shirts over the years with no wrinkling issue at all. This year, the fit and styling are very nice - but the fabric wrinkles so badly it requires ironing. Not sure how they changed the fabric but the blue plaid is like an accordion after washing. Please keep the fit - but go back to the earlier fabric.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Preppy to Outdoorsy The Orange and White style can easily go from preppy, with chino shorts or a vest with skinny jeans, to outdoorsy, with hiking pants. This shirt could fit into anyone's wardrobe. I am a size 0 but my broad shoulders worked best with a size S.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the shirt, but it feels a little small I purchased a size 6 and it feels a little small. I purchased the Island Hopper shirt in a Medium and it seems pretty large. Maybe I am just in between sizes. Also, the material seems to wrinkle a little more compared to other travel shirts.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from lightweight fishing shirt Went to the fabric for the Overcast shirt a couple of years ago, as the fabric change for the women's tropical flats shirts became too hot, wrinkly, and stained badly. So this fabric has been a life-saver for fishing in hot temps. This year's shirt seems to have changed from the past three years, and now wrinkles more, however, remains quick drying, cool, and comfortable for rowing, casting, and travel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cool comfortable fabric, lots of wrinkles This is a much more comfortable sunshirt than the polyester ones, which I find to be way too hot. I was really excited when I saw the shiny gray fabric. It looked kind of dressed up, despite being a sun shirt, so I could wear it outdoors and even to work. After washing it though, it got wrinkles that are impossible to iron out. I don't mind a few wrinkles, but it doesn't look as nice anymore, and they advertise it as wrinkle-resistant (it's the opposite). Also, I have broad muscular shoulders, and the L was pretty snug. I agree that the sizing is smaller than usual. But, it is very comfortable in hot weather so I give it a high rating for that! It's the most comfortable sunshirt I own.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New fabric is better I have already reviewed this and wanted to add that I LOVE the newer fabric. After spending consecutive days on a raft alternating between the old version and the newer (starting last season I believe) I find the new fabric to be much cooler and better breathing. Also, although slight, I do think the newer ones fit a touch smaller than the older version. Love them either way but would love some better colors next season!
