Your chalkbag might weigh more than our Merino Air® Crew. This is our lightest yet warmest merino pullover for days that start and end by headlamp. It has the warm feel of our Merino Air baselayer fabric: a blend of merino wool sourced from the grasslands of Patagonia (51%) and recycled polyester (49%). We spin the wool fibers with an innovative technology that creates a loftier yarn with a superior warmth-to-weight ratio. The lofted wool and recycled polyester yarns are then knit directly into a seamless garment with minimal waste. The result is a baselayer with superior performance qualities; it offers a stretchy, chafe-free fit, lightweight warmth, exceptional breathability and the natural odor-fighting properties of wool.
  • Fine merino wool from the grasslands of Patagonia blended with Capilene® recycled polyester for improved wicking, durability and dry time
  • 18.9 micron-gauge yarn; zigzag waffle construction
  • Fabric is soft against skin and stretches to move with the body
  • Seamless 3D construction eliminates chafe points through the entire garment and has almost no wasted material

Recycled Polyester

In 1993, we adopted fleece into our product line made from post consumer recycled (PCR) plastic soda bottles. We were the first outdoor clothing manufacturer to do so. PCR® clothing was a positive step towards a more sustainable system – one that uses fewer resources, discards less and better protects people’s health.

Today, we’re able to utilize more sources for recycled polyester and offer it on more garments such as Capilene® baselayers, shell jackets, board shorts, and fleece. We now recycle used soda bottles, unusable manufacturing waste, and worn out garments (including our own) into polyester fibers to produce many of our clothes.

Using recycled polyester lessens our dependence on petroleum as a raw material source, curbs discards and reduces toxic emissions from incinerators.

Women's Merino Air Crew is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 30.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite new Sweater I bought my first Marino air crew several months ago and it quickly became my go to. I took it on several hikes which started with cool mornings or ended with chilly evenings. I began leaving it in my car to wear out after work because it's also a good looking sweater that goes with jeans, skirts and shorts. I now have two of them in grey and teal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it. Soft and yummy Bought a month ago and have worn a few times. Warm and cuddly, yet lightweight. Great layering opportunities and fabulous color. Could dress up or spend the day working in the garden, all perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and functional This sweater takes up almost no space in my suitcase, but when I pull it out and put it on it delivers major warmth. It has a textured surface that I'm sure helps add warmth. It's also very professional looking and goes with anything. Very happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for everyday Girlfriend is often cold and wears a base layer with day-to-day clothing. This is a step up in quality and layers well due to the crew neck (vs. quarter zips). It's softer than I thought it would be, has good stretch, covers her hands a bit, and looks great on its own. Works well with her longer torso. She's worn it frequently for more than a month now and is very happy with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Baselayer I originally bought it in size small but it was 5 inches too long on the torso and the arms... so I reordered as an XXsmall and it fits perfectly. For those of us vertically challenged with short torsos downsize 1-2 sizes as it is meant for taller women. Despite that sizing issue, it is perfect. I purchased this for my trip to Whistler to ski and it is very cozy and retain heat really well and wick sweat very well. Surprisingly when I tried the small one on it was in fact very sheer as another review noted, but the ones that fit right are not sheer at all! I have one crew and one hoody and they are great! I will also plan to use these layers when I climb and need something lightweight but warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So comfortable! This top is so comfortable and versatile. It is a great layering piece for any outdoor activities but it is cute enough that I have also worn it out to a nice dinner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful, soft and warm! This is such a great base layer but also stands alone as a beautiful sweater. It is wearing well and the color is gorgeous. Great for cold weather traveling as I can go from active day to evening out.
