Skin to the base of the route, rack up. Climb, belay, repeat until the post-climb beer—all in one jacket. Our Nano-Air® Hoody sets a new standard for technical insulation, merging the comfort and breathability of open fleece with the protection and warmth of a puffy. Its supremely stretchy and breathable fabric package combines a plain-weave liner, warm-when-wet FullRange™ insulation and a lightweight yet durable, weather-shedding 100% nylon ripstop shell with DWR (durable water repellent) finish. The hoody has an incredibly soft, supple feel and full mechanical stretch (without moisture-holding spandex) that allow for a close, femininely sculpted fit over baselayers and an uninhibited range of motion. At chilly belays or in frigid conditions, pull on a lightweight shell and the Nano-Air’s thermal properties skyrocket. The trim, stretchy hood is designed for next-to-noggin use, though it’ll still fit snugly over low-profile helmets. Two above-harness handwarmer pockets and two smaller chest pockets all close with trim, low-bulk zippers. The center-front zipper has a storm flap and zipper garage, while stretch binding at the cuffs and a dual-adjustable drawcord hem seal in warmth.
  • Light, yet durable 100% nylon ripstop shell and plain-weave liner offer generous mechanical stretch and exceptional breathability, with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish
  • Revolutionary 60-g FullRange™ insulation warms and stretches; combined with the shell and liner, this creates a jacket with generous mechanical stretch and unprecedented air permeability (40CFM)
  • Iconic Nano Puff® brick quilting in the side panels, articulated patterning and other quilting details improve shape and durability
  • Stretchy hood with binding easily pulls on or off, even when jacket is zipped
  • Center-front zipper has wicking interior storm flap and zipper garage at chin for next-to-skin comfort
  • Two handwarmer pockets and two chest pockets are zippered, welted and low-bulk to wear comfortably with a harness or pack
  • Stretch binding at the cuffs and a dual-adjustable drawcord hem seal in warmth
  • Shell: 1.3-oz 20-denier 100% nylon ripstop. Lining: 2-oz 50-denier 100% nylon plain weave. Both shell and lining with mechanical stretch and a DWR (durable water repellent) finish. Insulation: 60-g FullRange™ 100% polyester stretch insulation
  • 334 g (11.8 oz)
  • Made in Vietnam.

Water Resistant

(durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite Layer of All Time I punched my Nano-Air a year ago after learning about it while attempting to climb Mt. Everest. Due to the earthquake in Nepal, my trip was cancelled and I returned home to plan my next attempt. Purchasing my Nano-Air was the first thing on my list. This past spring I returned to Mt. Everest and am happy to report a successful summit! My Nano-Air became my everyday coat on the mountain. It was great for added warmth under my big down expedition suit, or when I was climbing through the Khumbu icefall in the early morning and wanted to control sweating. This jacket is versatile enough for summer camping, trail running, rock climbing, skiing, and summiting Mt. Everest in! Sadly, after wearing my coat on the summit it somehow fell out of my backpack on the descent and was forever lost. Sad to not have my favorite layer anymore, I jumped at the opportunity to return it, and make some new memories in my favorite jacket :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More Nano-Air! I bought this jacket when it first came out and it did not disappoint! Perfect for a range of temperatures. It's been to Southern California beaches and deserts, the mountains of Colorado in winter, working outside in Midwest winters, and to/fro in New Jersey. Easy to access the many pockets when carrying a backpack. I love the hood! So easy to pull it up when jacket is fully zipped. Long body and sleeves (important for an active 6' 170lb woman, size L). I've been considering a second one only for a new color. My original teal one has held up fantastically despite my near daily use of it when it gets below 45F for the last two years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this jacket!!! I bought this jacket a month to go, and him continually psyched about how well it performs when I'm out working up a sweat. The material is so soft and breathable, it's my go to jacket!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit, and fun colors! This is a great jacket but it is really hard to keep clean.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A little too long, but great! I really love this jacket, but it's really long (almost past my butt) and tight fitting at the bottom (uncinched). I weigh around 110 and I'm 5'3", so a little on the shorter side, but I've never had this as a problem before. Maybe the jacket is supposed to be that long, but I personally don't like it. I probably should have gotten it in a small, but they didn't have that size in the color I wanted, and I'm afraid it would have been even longer. It would be nice if it came in a short size or something. Other than that, I love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Most Comfortable Jacket This is a fantastic jacket - it stays dry in light rain showers and is super flexible.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poor fit again this season I ordered this jacket for the 3rd time in 2 years. I keep hoping for a pattern change, but each season, as new colors arrive, the cut has not changed. The XS fit's perfectly through the chest and shoulders, but is too tight around the hips. And I am built pretty's not like I have large hips for my size. I'm disappointed, because I'd like to have this jacket. I've found that many Patagonia jackets and vests seem to fit like this in recent years, so I've had to turn to other brands.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome lightweight versatile layer I used this jacket during our summit push on Rainier, and I couldn't have been happier with how it performed. I had actually intended to bring my 800-fill down Arc'teryx puffy as an extra layer for the summit, but I forgot it at the bottom of my sleeping bag that morning. The Nano-Air Hoody did an excellent job insulating in the cooler part of the climb before the sun came up, and it breathed enough once things got a little warmer. I never had to take it off, and combined with my hard shell it kept me warm enough to stand around at the summit for a little while. It was also pretty packable, especially for synthetic, packing down within its sleeve to about the size of a Nalgene bottle. It's going to be my go-to mid-layer for a long time!
