Cruise to the base of the route, rack up. Climb, belay, repeat until the post-climb beer—all in one jacket. Our Nano-Air® Hoody sets a new standard for technical insulation, merging the comfort and breathability of open fleece with the protection and warmth of a puffy. Its supremely stretchy and breathable fabric package combines a plain-weave liner, warm-when-wet FullRange® insulation and a lightweight yet durable, weather-shedding 100% nylon ripstop shell with DWR (durable water repellent) finish. The hoody has an incredibly soft, supple feel and full mechanical stretch (without moisture-holding spandex) that allow for a close, femininely sculpted fit over baselayers and an uninhibited range of motion. When the belay goes from chilly to downright cold, pull on a lightweight shell and the Nano-Air’s thermal properties skyrocket. The trim, stretchy hood is designed for next-to-noggin use, though it’ll still fit snugly over low-profile helmets. Two above-harness handwarmer pockets and two smaller chest pockets all close with trim, low-bulk zippers. The center-front zipper has a storm flap and zipper garage, while stretch binding at the cuffs and a dual-adjustable drawcord hem seal in warmth.
Features
  • Light yet durable 100% nylon ripstop shell and plain-weave liner offer generous mechanical stretch and exceptional breathability, with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish
  • Revolutionary 60-g FullRange® insulation warms and stretches; combined with the shell and liner, this creates a jacket with excellent mechanical stretch and unprecedented air permeability (40-CFM)
  • Iconic Nano Puff® brick quilting in the side panels, articulated patterning and other quilting details improve shape and durability
  • Stretchy hood with binding pulls easily on or off head, even when jacket is zipped
  • Center-front zipper has wicking interior storm flap and zipper garage at chin for next-to-skin comfort
  • Two handwarmer pockets and two chest pockets are zippered, welted and low-bulk to wear comfortably with a harness or pack
  • Stretch binding at the cuffs and a dual-adjustable drawcord hem seal in warmth

Water Resistant

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great cool weather hiking jacket! My wife used this jacket on a couple of extremely windy hikes in the Lakes District NP in England and it kept her super comfy. Also a great piece for wearing casually.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite piece of kit This jacket is my favorite piece of kit. It is warm but not hot, super comfortable, breathable, and all around fantastic. I primarily use it for backpacking trips but occasionally wear it for cold weather running. No-regret purchase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sizing :( I bought this based on glowing reviews online, and everything about the jacket stands up: the material is fantastic, it's a perfect layer but is also dreamy on its own, and it is commmfy as all get out. My only issue, which has been alluded to in other reviews, is the sizing. I'm a "true medium," including in Patagonia-wear. I have a wide-ish rib cage, a small-ish bust, and am generally an athletic build. Went with medium, and wish daily that I'd gone with my gut when it arrived and returned it for a large. If I'd done that, this puppy would be getting a 5 star review and would be, in my opinion, without a single flaw. I'm still wearing it, but it is just a hair more form fitting than I would've liked. In my opinion, this is a size-upper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Spot-on jacket versatility! I think I can finally adequately review this jacket after putting it through the wringer the last couple of years! It's very warm for its weight and ability to breathe. I rarely overheat in it and love that I can be rowing a raft, skinning up a mountain, biking to work, backpacking in a cold drizzle, etc. and not have to change layers because I'm either too cold or clammy from sweat. One thing I didn't expect but have come to LOVE is the stretchiness of the fabric. It's just crazy comfortable, I rarely take it off in the winter- even indoors! I literally sleep in this jacket nearly every night when camping here in the Colorado Rockies. The fabric is soft and quiet (unlike other insulated "trash bag-like" materials). Great good has snug but stretchy fit with a helmet. Warm, dries quickly, unpretentious. Overall, perfecto!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Glad I bought it I bought this near the end of the season, but the jacket has been very versatile for chilly spring days. It keeps me warm when I need it and breathes well too! Good as a layer or stand alone.
