Odor Resistant

Polygiene® odor control permanently protects your garments from smelling like a middle school locker room. Sweat itself is odorless, but it creates the conditions that bacteria need to multiply, and some of those bacteria produce odors. Polygiene permanent odor control stops the growth of odor-causing bacteria on fabrics, so you can wear more and wash less.

Active only on the fabric surface, Polygiene permanent odor control does not interfere with perspiration or with the skin’s natural bacterial flora. Polygiene particles are more than 100 times larger than nanoparticles and therefore are too large to penetrate to the skin’s barrier. Polygiene-treated fabrics have received Medical Class 1 approval in Europe, the same class that includes bandages.

Water Resistant

(durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Women's Nine Trails Shorts - 4" is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light & Flexable One of the "Nine Trails" these awesome little shorts can handle is the cross-training 'trail' that I call lap swimming. I'm only sorry that I have just one pair.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Yes! I wear a 6 in pants, not much booty, not much waist definition, I ordered these in a Medium and they are wonderful. They do fit looser than on the model, but I prefer that. I have Striders from a couple years ago and the medium is snug, especially the liner, but I do not have the same issue with these. Would LOVE these even more if the draw string was elastic. What's the point of a stretchy short and waistband if the drawstring has no give? I like these enough to pull the string they come with out and replace it with something functional.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New and improved fit I am an avid trail runner and have 3 pairs of nine trails from 3 years ago- previous models never fit great and were tight around the hips and too short. This years model is fantastic- low rise, slightly roomy, not fitted at hips, comfy, and look great. I can put in the miles in these shorts with no chaffing or riding up. This is by far the best years model of these shorts and please don't change them. I wear a small- I am 5'4 and 119 lbs, muscular legs and a booty.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Like wedgies? If you like wedgies, these are the shorts for you! I wear size 8 or 10 Patagonia pants, so I ordered the Medium. The outer shorts fit fine, but the inner lining (panty) is WAY too small! I had already cut the tag off by the time I realized this, so I went ahead and wore them on a run. Just like I feared, the panty rode up really bad! I spent the whole run digging it out of there. I don't think that ordering a larger size would solve the problem; the panty seems to be the wrong shape in addition to being the wrong size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from IN LOVE For reference: I am 5'5" 110 lbs more legs than torso and ordered the XS. This is the largest xs bottom I have received from Patagonia, but I LOVE IT! They fit PERFECTLY! I'm always somewhere between an xs and sm and these fit the bill. I wear an xs in the baggie shorts and they've always felt just a touch too tight around the hips/waist, but a small was always too baggy in the butt. I have a flat stomach AND a flat butt, so I chose a tight waist over a saggy butt. With these shorts I don't have to choose! The best part is you can adjust the drawstring so it moves to the tightness of your choosing. The fabric is comfortable, the liner is the right size, and the color (turquoise) is nice. These will go from running, to lifting, to time doing water sports seamlessly. I love the length, which feels modest for this mommy, but not so long that I look old before my time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from comfy and great fit I love the look of these shorts and the way they fit me. I am 5'2 117 Pounds with a small waist and very muscular everywhere else. They are a little loose in my waist and I absolutely have to tie them or else they will be to my knees. I purchased 2 of the xs and I feel like they would be flattering on many different body types. The only downside to these shorts is that I ran my first half marathon in them and chafed to the point of bleeding! I have never experienced this before and feel like the material is prone to this unfortunate situation. I personally would not wear these for longer running, but more for long hikes, biking, kayaking, etc. Overall I love the shorts and the material (as long as I am not running more than 6 miles :)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice but run large My two favorite running shorts are Patagonia 9 Trails from two seasons ago. I purchased this year's model and they are two inches larger on the waist compared to the others. (Quality control?) I recommend going down one size or risk losing them on the trail. :) Otherwise they are very nice.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light weight These shorts are a little bigger then the strider shorts in the same size. I bought a Large and I am a size 10. I might go smaller next time. These are perfect for hot temperatures. I loved the pocket.
