Learn More Close
The pitch of a lifetime rises above. There’s only one way to decide who leads it. Rock, Paper, Scissors, best two out of three. Throw your magic and rack up. Our RPS Pants give you unrestricted movement on techy routes; they’re our lightest-weight rock climbing pants, made from a nylon/polyester stretch-woven fabric with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish. They transform easily into capris with a simple pull of the hidden elastic draw cord at the hem. A modest, loose fit allows freedom of movement on steep, sticky hikes with room for a baselayer during an open bivy. The waist features a unique adjustable button closure, zip fly and low-profile belt loops. Two front drop-in mesh pockets lie flat under a harness, while two integrated rear patch pockets offer an extra layer of protection for your seat on ledge belays. A zippered thigh pocket holds a topo, lighter, lip balm and other small goods.
  • Light and breathable synthetic-blend fabric has modest stretch and a DWR (durable water repellent) finish
  • Articulated pattern, darted knees and a gusseted crotch enhance movement and comfort under a harness
  • Separating zip fly with belt loops and unique OppoSet™ adjustable waist offers a customized fit
  • Drop-in hand pockets have breathable mesh pocket bags, darts for a lay-flat entry and a coin-catch bartack that doubles as a toothbrush holder
  • Two rear, top-entry pockets create a reinforced seat for added durability
  • Right-thigh security zip pocket sits comfortably above the knee and below harness leg loops
  • Cuffs adjust with an ultralow-profile shock cord and sliding knot
  • 4.5-oz 52% nylon/48% polyester stretch plain weave with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish
  • 274 g (9.7 oz)
  • Made in Vietnam.

Water Resistant

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Women's Rps Rock Pants is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sweet pants, sizing runs small I own various Patagonia pants in the same size and every pair has been consistent until this pair. I found them very tight around the upper thigh/butt area. Still love the fabric and colors though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable and Durable I bought my first pair last summer for hiking and exploring in the woods and have just ordered a second pair. They are comfortable and durable with a fit that allows a good range of motion -- pretty much perfect for roaming in the forest. I'm hoping that the future will bring some more colors from nature -- greens and browns to blend in with the trees. Perfect fit out of the box, too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light weight and easy. I bought these for work and for play. I am an EMT and these pants are perfect for my job. They're light weight for those hot days and still super durable, there's a pocket on the side leg for my scissors and note pad. I'm 5'7 and 150lbs. I bought the 12 so I'd have room to layer on colder days. I could have easily gone with a 10 but am happy with the fit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wonderful light weight comfy pants! I was so excited when these arrived but unfortunately I felt like they run a little small. Usually I wear a size 0 pants in Patagonia but these were super tight, so I'm exchanging for a 2. But otherwise I'm so happy with them! They are going to be the perfect weight for climbing and seem durable but also stretchy. Also they are mid-rise which I love and the yellow color is amazing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight, tough so far I bought these pants for work (at a plant nursery). I needed something that would stand up to dirt and wash up handsome, give me freedom of movement, and stay as cool as possible. So far, they've been great. My only complaint is the strange pull-tab thing to which the button is anchored. It's not a means of adjustment so I don't understand why it's there.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from nice pant, crazy size differential from 2 to 4. This is a great pant. I just lived in a pair for 3 days of climbing & hiking at Joshua Tree, including sleeping in them on during the night. They performed well. I would take this pant through hiking. That said, the the sizing differential is nuts! I bought a size 2 & a size 4. I find Patagonia's sizing is really a guessing game for me, not only from season to season, but garmet to garmet. The size 2 was short in the leg length, barely reaching the top of my ankle bone. I had over an inch gap from being able to close the top button. The 4 was a winner, but almost too big. I'm using the pull strap at the waist to avoid using a belt. They're a little bit baggy through the seat & legs, and long enough that I've slightly cinched the draw cord at the bottom hem to keep the back of the pant hem off the ground. FYI: I'm 5'7", 122, athletic build, long arms, wide shoulders, but 'skinny' upper body, with a healthy butt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable, reliable, awesome! These are the best pants I have owned for working outdoors. They are reliable, don't snag like other brands under a harness and even bead up water in mild weather conditions. I purchased one color and went back for more only to find them being made in black. I purchased the black, but I would love to see more color options in the future.
