bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Recycled Polyester

In 1993, we adopted fleece into our product line made from post consumer recycled (PCR) plastic soda bottles. We were the first outdoor clothing manufacturer to do so. PCR® clothing was a positive step towards a more sustainable system – one that uses fewer resources, discards less and better protects people’s health.

Today, we’re able to utilize more sources for recycled polyester and offer it on more garments such as Capilene® baselayers, shell jackets, board shorts, and fleece. We now recycle used soda bottles, unusable manufacturing waste, and worn out garments (including our own) into polyester fibers to produce many of our clothes.

Using recycled polyester lessens our dependence on petroleum as a raw material source, curbs discards and reduces toxic emissions from incinerators.

Women's Seabrook Skirt is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from fun and flirty with coverage At nearly 55 years old, I don't want a skirt to hit at the mid-thigh. This skirt is comfortable, cool and has flounce. It maintains it shape wash after wash and hits just at the knee (I am 5'4" 140 lb). The waist panel is flat and wide so no muffin top to worry about. I am fit but carry a little weight at the waistline (always have) and this skirt doesn't seem to mind! I am a medium and ordered a medium. If you have a true defined waistline you may want to order down a size. It is longer than shown, so if you are a petite gal beware but this works in my favor. I want one in every color.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love, love, love! I bought two of these skirts a year ago to wear while working out. I've worn them in the ocean, washed them frequently, and they still look great! I was so excited to see them again this spring. I bought two more. They are my favorite skirts, so comfortable and cute. Hope to see these skirts available for a long time!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from love this fabric The skirt is more A-line than it looks in the picture. I thought it may be tight on the hips but it definitely was not. I usually like skirts with the fitted drop waist, since I never tuck anything and shirring at the waist just creates bulk. But this one creates the appearance of an extra tummy roll since the fabric stretches more than the seam. I would have liked it an inch or two longer as well, but I'm tall. I still kept it because I love the fabric.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice fabric and drape of this skirt I bought the Ink Black in a size Small. It's more of a heathered charcoal gray (to my eye). Love the fabric and "swing" of this skirt. My waist measures 27, hips 36, 5'2" and 116 lbs- and the Small hangs on me, so I need to exchange for an XS. I usually don't wear dresses or skirts, but I WILL wear this one! I'd even buy another, if it came in more colors! (like denim blue/navy/taupe/true black/or a cool print!)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Soft material Nice flowing skirt with very soft fabric. Washes well and does not wrinkle. Great Patagonia quality - I can see this will be a staples for years. 4'10", 90lbs and the XS fit nicely (relaxed/loose). More colors please!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice swish! I like the material and swing of the skirt. As always, I wish Patagonia offered more size options, i.e. petites.
