So light. So warm. The Ultralight Down Jacket combines 800-fill-power Traceable Down (goose down traced from parent farm to apparel factory to help ensure the birds that supply it are not force-fed or live-plucked) with a superlight 15-denier 100% nylon Pertex Quantum® shell for a lightweight, toasty-warm down jacket.

One minute the wind howls and your breath freezes, and a second later the clouds part and the sun shines. A shoulder-season staple, our Ultralight Down Jacket features 800-fill-power Traceable Down (European goose down traced from parent farm to apparel factory to help ensure the birds that supply it are not force-fed or live-plucked) and an ultralight nylon ripstop shell fabric that’s nearly half the weight and twice the strength of our other down shell fabrics. The sewn-through construction, tight channel pattern and just the right amount of down increase versatility for use in more moderate temperatures and diverse activities, while a DWR (durable water repellent) finish sheds snow. A slim silhouette maximizes thermal efficiency and suits its ideal uses: belay jacket over light layers at shaded crags, minimalist summer alpine bivies and unmatched warmth layered under a shell. Pockets include two zippered handwarmers and one zippered chest. The jacket self-stuffs into the left handwarmer to become a travel pillow, and into the chest pocket for storage, with carabiner clip-in loop. A drawcord hem keeps in the heat.
  • Ultralightweight Pertex Quantum® shell and liner fabrics use interlocking Y-shaped nylon fibers to enhance the performance of the DWR (durable water repellent) finish
  • 800-fill-power Traceable Down (goose down traced from parent farm to apparel factory to help ensure the birds that supply it are not force-fed or live-plucked)
  • Variegated channel construction stabilizes goose down; side panels with narrow channels provide shape and reduce bulk
  • Longer-length hem; center-front zipper has interior storm flap and wicking kissing-welt zipper garage at chin for next-to-skin comfort
  • Two zippered handwarmer pockets and one zippered chest pocket have zipper garages; jacket self-stuffs into chest pocket with carabiner clip-in loop, as well as left-hand pocket as a travel pillow
  • Elastic-bound cuffs and hem with single drawcord adjustment seal in warmth
  • Shell and lining: 0.85-oz 15-denier 100% nylon ripstop Pertex Quantum® built with Y-shaped filament technology; with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish. Insulation: 800-fill-power Traceable Down (goose down traced from parent farm to apparel factory to help ensure the birds that supply it are not force-fed or live-plucked). Fabric is certified as bluesign® approved

bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Traceable Down Insulation

Patagonia Traceable Down provides the highest assurance of animal welfare in the apparel industry. Every down cluster, in every one of our down products, comes exclusively from birds that were never force-fed and never live-plucked. How do we know? We hired an independent third-party expert to trace and verify our down supply chain from farm to jacket–and every step in between. Learn more

Women's Ultralight Down Jacket is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 25.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Impressed I bought this jacket because my previous Patagonia Down Jacket is nearly unwearable after hiking the Pacific Crest Trail (just because of the smell, hard to believe I was that stinky!!) but after putting this jacket on, I wondered why I hadn't taken this on the PCT! It is incredibly light, super warm, and flattering. I honestly think that it is warmer than my other down jacket, yet somehow it's also lighter... my mind is blown and I would definitely recommend this jacket, especially for a thru-hike. I purchased during a sale, so I had to get a medium and I am normally a small (they were sold out), but it fits well and seems TTS for a M. Yet another piece of Patagonia gear I've fallen in love with.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sizing is off. Runs large I have been a Patagonia customer for 20 years and have always worn a size medium so I didnt have any concerns about buying online. However, this jacket runs extremely large and was way too boxy on my frame. I can't wear it so it's going back. That said, I really like the weight and warmth of the jacket so I'm going to try a size small, but I've never been a size small in my life. For the record, I'm 5'8" and 145 lbs, athletic build.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great color and cozy I bought this a few weeks ago in the periwinkle blue (not sure of the exact name)and love the color. Plenty of room to layer on top, it does taper a little around the hip, which provides a nice line and covers your assets.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super lightweight and warm I've had the ultra lightweight hoody for several years and love it. It still looks good and keeps me warm despite getting wet every year and being used a lot. Because of this I just bought the shirt and it looks like it will be just as warm and lightweight but beware if you order the French Red it's really ORANGE. I don't know why they call it red. It looked red on my computer but alas it's bright orange. I'm going to have to seriously consider weather I want to keep a jacket that's this bright. I'm considering returning it and paying $20 more for the blue one but I'm afraid that may really be purple. Also, if you are busty, size up.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Light weight, not too warm It is lighter than expected and comfortable but not too warm for the price. Makes swishing sound when moving, not flexible. Would love for it to have small diddy bag to store in.
