Men's Tropic Comfort Hoody Ii is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 55.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I lived in this shirt... For 16 of paddling in the Grand Canyon I lived in this shirt. This hoody made hiding from the death star, aka the sun, an almost enjoyable experience while I floated through the grandeur of the canyon. I put the Tropic Comfort Hoody through about as much wear as a normal person would put this shirt through in a couple years, and it still looks new. No sunscreen, no problem. I didn't get sun burnt once with this on. Truly full coverage, without sacrificing comfort.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 3 Years in... 3 years in, and the Tropic Comfort Hoody II is showing no wear and is still a preferred item in summer months. It has multiple uses from daily wear, to airplane travel as primary layer or extra layer. I really like the fact that its a a little big, allowing for layering. The material has shown NO catches, pulls, or tears, unlike some of your other tropic weight shirts have. I'd pocket other designs in this material... SUGGESTION for DESIGNERS: This shirt & fabric with a kangaroo pocket front-center for hands +. A zippered pocket would be too much in the front, but would work at center back which is done a lot for women designs. I would buy 1 of each. Can envision a use for both. Thank you for your hard work. I'm finally buying a new color today.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but needs zip Really good material and fit. Would be excellent if it had a 1/4 zip and a way to secure the hood more-tightly under the chin so it stays on better in the wind.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great protection and comfort I purchased this sun hoody for protection from the Mojave sun. Last fall I was doing desert tortoise surveys and we were walking anywhere from 10-20 kilometers per day in the desert heat. This hoody kept the sun off of me and kept me cool. I love the hood feature. I can put the hood on over my ball cap and get great protection but can still feel the breeze, if there is one. I also use this hoody for running, kayaking and SUPing. Great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great flats shirt Bought this shirt for sun protection during a recent fly fishing trip to the Yucatán. Absolutely loved it. Great sun protection while still feeling very light and airy. Hood was much easier to deal with and more comfortable than wearing a buff. I liked the convenient thumb holes as well, but usually chose to wear gloves for better protection. Only negative was the button closure at the base of the hood. Would often come unbuttoned on its own, especially when making a run in the boat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Essential piece for people who play outside I love this piece. Its one of those things that you don't realize is essential until you have one. Now that I've got one I can't go back. Anyone who goes outside could find a good use for this piece. Alpine climbing in warm weather? This piece keeps you safe from high-alpine sun. I am not kidding you, every climbing guide in the Tetons wears one of these. Are you planning to be on a big river, mid summer for hours on end? Pull up the hood on your Sunshade and find refuge from the heat and glare. A flyfisher or river enthusiast absolutely needs on of these hoodies. The fabric is light and very airy, a subtle breeze actually feels pretty cold while wearing this piece. For spring skiing or alpine climbing, I like to layer a lightweight synthetic t-shirt underneath for a bit of core warmth. The fit is baggy and relaxed, which is great for comfort but not always ideal for layering underneath something, but its not too big of a problem, I would not recommend sizing down. Get yourself one before they sell out!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Deep sea survivor. The SPF protection is a huge plus in this light weight shirt. The hood protected my ears and neck well, and was plenty warm on the ride out when teamed with a cotton t-shirt. After a full day of run and Mahi Mahi fishing I thought the shirt was done for from all the mess that comes with catching and cleaning fish. However, a little bit of detergent straight onto the shirt and then into the wash and it came out looking new. Well done Patagonia team. I'm 6’2” 225 and got the XL, but L would fit better.
