Tailored in both size and fit for a woman’s torso, the Paxat Pack (our largest daypack) features a roomy panel-loading design that holds a full day’s worth of gear and keeps everything organized and accessible so you can move freely through town or across mountain passes. The main compartment holds sizable items like books, lunch and a pair of running shoes for your afternoon workout. Inside, it has a padded and lined tablet sleeve. The back-panel pocket holds most 15" or smaller computers and lies flat via a clamshell zipper, so you can glide through airport security without removing your laptop. This pocket also accepts a hydration reservoir when you break away from the plugged-in world. A third, zip-closing front pocket provides a secure place for smaller items like energy bars, lip balm and keys. Zippered side pockets expand to carry sunglasses, a charger and electrical cords, or water bottles. A front stretch stash pocket makes quick work of anything extra. The Paxat’s suspension system uses heat-venting, ultrasoft mesh on the shoulder straps and back panel to keep you cool, and the straps have a straighter cut with more taper to fit the female torso. Other features include a sternum strap and compression straps to stabilize the load. Made from 630-denier 100% nylon (50% recycled/50% high-tenacity) plain weave. The lining is 200-denier 100% recycled polyester. Both with a polyurethane coating and a DWR (durable water repellent) finish.

Durable Water Repellent

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Recycled Nylon

Although we’ve been using recycled polyester in our garments for 20 years, for some reason locked deep in polymer chemistry, nylon is more difficult to recycle than polyester. After years of research, development, and testing, we’re finally finding some recycled nylon fibers that are suitable for apparel.

Some of the recycled nylon we use comes from post-industrial waste fiber, yarn collected from a spinning factory, and waste from the weaving mills that can be processed into reusable nylon fiber.

We’re diligently searching for a success story with recycled nylon. The challenge lies ahead of us, and we’re committed to discovering the best methods to recycle nylon fiber, but it appears this evolution will take many years.
