If we have any hope of a thriving planet—much less a business—it is going to take all of us doing what we can with the resources we have. This is what we can do.
I hope Patagonia keeps this garment around, so I wanted there to be at least one review to help guide others.
5'9" (176cm)
~41" Chest (104cm)
~34" Waist (86cm)
~39.5" Hips (100cm)
~32" Inseam (81cm)
Size recommender puts me at a Men's Medium (which is why I wrote the Small as being kinda large), but I called cus... Read Moretomer service to get the garment's actual dimensions & I went with Men's Small because I did not want to be swimming in this pullover & I am glad I did. The small fits me more closely & is easier to layer beneath jackets while also being able to fit a 200 weight wool tshirt & 260 weight wool longsleeve beneath.
The length of the garment is just below my mid hip; arm length is long, easily fitting over my watch without being in the way, collar is wide to allow easier on off; shoulders fit well & the raglan cut allows for good range of motion.
The only issue with fit for me is in the chest where it is slightly tight in the armpit, not uncomfortable & something that does fade into the background for me, though I would not use this for anything dynamic or wild, the lack of much fabric elasticity is likely a major culprit along with my sizing down (though a medium would likely have been cumbersomely baggy for my preference in the other dimensions).
I do like the soft feel, matte finish & quieter properties of the Silent Down fabric. Along with the fabric, versatility & subdued aesthetics (Navy is a great uniform colourway), the zippered pockets are excellent, perfectly placed, useful, comfortable & why I chose this garment over other Patagonia products (Alplight Pullover).
I appreciate the lack of an entry zipper. I cannot speak to durability beyond light tasks around the home, I would use a durable shell if planning to abuse, there has been minimal feather shedding, no down leakage of note. I do not know the total fill weight, but 600 fill power down amount seems sufficient to keep me warm around the house & in spring/fall temperatures 0degC to -10degC (32degF to 13degF) with another jacket or vest (of course this is all very subjective).
Overall, I highly recommend as an alternative to a light down jacket that is versatile across situations.
