If we have any hope of a thriving planet—much less a business—it is going to take all of us doing what we can with the resources we have. This is what we can do.
I like that layering this vest, either indoors or outside, gives the right amount of added warmth without restricting my arm movements. Also, the pockets are great!
This indestructible vest is still a favorite to wear everywhere, all the time. That said, it shed terribly on my shirt even after first washing. A second wash and a very brief run through the dryer seemed to resolve issue. The zippers are very small and fumbly, especially the main one. Also, the knotted cord zipper pulls are not nearly as useful as... Read More the very simple, cheap ribbon pulls you used some two decades ago. Chest pocket so small as to be kinda worthless (maybe make it slightly larger?) The black color attracts all kinds of dust, lint and animal hair. IN SPITE of all this, the (black) synchilla vest remains one of my very favorite pieces of Patagonia clothing to wear in a cold house or office, going to the store, working in the field, hiking, camping, backpacking, or on the water, as both outer or inner layer. Throw it in the truck, jam it in your pack, drag it through the dirt. If it gets grimy, throw it in the washer, shake it out, and BOOM you are ready to use and abuse it some more. Fix the zipper issues and it is a perfect five star piece of gear.
I appreciated getting this vest for my husband in a size large and for a change, this vest fits nicely. Other brands in large vests are too long or too big in the armholes. He also likes zippered pockets. Yay. Finally a vest that fits!
It's warm and fits well in the shoulders. I'm 5'2" and about 120 lb. My only complaint is the bottom hem is a bit too tight, and doesn't have an adjustable feature, so if I raise my arms above my head it pulls my shirt up which can let cold air in.
Your products run small so I ordered one size up, l normally wear 2X, but ordered a 3X and it fit. The only thing I don't care for is the chest pocket, l would rather have it run up and down instead of sideways, my cell phone fits better that way.
a great layer for the insulated flannel shirt that i also have
i use this vest in so many ways. layering or just by itself and a tee shirt. and i like the new version with the patch chest pocket.
i have patagonia products that are 20 years old.
Surprisingly not warm at all. I have 3 other fleecy vests, all are heavier and warmer than this one.
The fit is good, the zippers are smooth, it looks nice enough.
I'm basically keeping it for fair-weather occasions when I need to wear something with pockets.
