My go to fleece for teaching sailing in Maine. Perfectly warm for chilly mornings or evenings. Even stays warm in the pouring rain. Spent about 3 hours installing docks in the cold rain. Every part of me was freezing except my core that was protected by this fleece. Also great as an insulating layer under a rain shell. Love the Torrential shell and... My to-go casual fleece when fishing for compliments. I love micro-fleece from all brands but these knock in out of the park. It looks great and feels great. Fits me perfectly. Does not feel tight, but nice and comfy.
Warm, nice softness- and 100% recycled fabric! I really like it. A touch small, maybe, but that's the way I like it, w a tee under it and a vest over it.
I am 6'0" and 160 lbs. and seem to be in between sizes. I first bought the Large because it is typically what I wear. They were too big in the shoulders, sleeves were too long and the waist loose fitting. I switched to medium and got a much better fit. I also prefer the old style engraved logo to the current sew on but i'll stop whining now. The piece itself is great. Comfy, great fleece material and perfect for my uses. Good looking, a bit of warmth, packable and versatile. Recommend!
I was looking for something to replace a light fleece I've been wearing and skiing with for years that wasn't tight to the body and I could wear over a base layer. This piece totally fit my needs. I enjoy it so much, I find myself wearing it all the time now. light and warm.
I have been wearing Micro D 1/4 zip for 20 years and it is absolutely my favorite shirt. It is the softest most versatile piece I own. Just purchased two more of these comfortable and versatile garments. The new ones are for social occasions and the older ones are great for layering for anything outdoors or simply lounging around. Fortunately my wife and I can share the same size. Love em.
Im a dog walker and use fleece in 3 seasons. I love this fleece. It is warm and extremely soft. Washes well. Very cozy. My only desire is that it come in more colors.
I love the comfort, style & functionality of the Mico D 1/4 Zip Fleece. My only concern is after a couple of months use and 3 - 4 washings the fabric begins to pillar. The fleece after only six months looks like a fleece 3 or 4 years old. This is very disappointing. Can Patagonia improve the pillaring affect of this garment?
We're sorry to hear about the fabric. For product care, we recommend closing the zipper, gentle machine wash with similar items and mild detergent with no bleach and no fabric softener. You can hang or lay flat to air dry naturally or tumble dry briefly on low heat, again with no fabric softener. Luxurious fleece
Great weight for cool mornings before I gear up and late afternoons/evenings when all I care about is getting comfortable. This fleece is a mainstay for me and I have it in several colors because it always looks great!
Wanted something to wear around the house and when in and out. I wanted something not as heavy as my other fleece, yet would keep me warm. This is perfect. A little snugger than other small wear but thatokay. Great for layering. I am happy with it. Wish there were other colors.
It is a great, comfortable, warm, great looking, upper layer with Patagonia quality. Please dont quit making it! Actually Im ordering another just in case you get the urge to change or eliminate it!
Usual great Patagonia quality. Comfortable, warm and worth the cost. I purchased a Large based on a 42" chest but found it way too long in the sleeve and length. Exchanged it for a Medium and while better in length, its still a bit long (both sleeves and waist). Might be me but I find that all Patagonia apparel runs a bit long and tight unless... Read More I size up, then swim in way too much fabric. That said, love the products and corporate governance.
You almost need two versions of a size large. Your model must be tall and lean. I am stockier with 44" chest, 36" waist, and 5'8" tall. If I buy a medium, the chest and armpits are too tight.

We appreciate this feedback, James. Thank you! While we currently make garments in one of three overall fits (slim, regular, or relaxed), maybe there is an opportunity for accommodating different shapes as well.
Fits just perfectly! I don't want to take it off. Not baggy so it works great as a layer. I cant believe how soft it is. I will now order the other two colors. This is THAT good.
I've had lots of fleece over the years including coats and pullovers. This is a great fleece pullover for the money. The fit (at least for me) is spot-on. While I haven't had it long, I believe it'll be great for casual use and hiking.
Ive had a few of these, great mid layer. However, they are now running way larger than two years ago. A full 1.5 inches in the sleeves and length of the body, and fuller through the body. I am 5 foot 10 and a solid size medium in literally every brand, except Patagonia now. Ive tried size small at REI and irs too small. Very disappointing.
This was my first Patagonia purchase online. I purchased a fleece 1/4 zip pullover for my son and another one for my husband. I was concerned that the fleece material may be very thin. It was not. I was also concerned that the pullovers may be too short. My husband and son are both over 6 ft tall. They fit perfect. Very happy with my purchase.
This is my second micro D Fleece. Got the first last year & it became my go to fleece when it got colder. Highly recommended. Warm without bulk. Great quality & durability.
Really like this new fleece pullover - the fabric is patterned and looks nice. It's warm and comfortable - definitely a slim fit, but the larger size up works for me. This is my dress up fleece :-)
Some fleece is too thin, some fleece is too thick, but this one is just right and still feels luxurious. I'm a 36 inch sleeve length and this one has me covered perfectly. I like that when it's fully zipped up it holds its shape and doesn't choke me. It allows me to wear it for a family Christmas picture in Texas or out on the river ... Best Value
I have been wearing this fleece since circa 1995, and it is hands down the best value. I have tried the wool capiliene ari, the air R1, etc., etc. All are great layers, but this is my go to and my always back up- if I sweat hard or get cold due to any base-layer saturation- i strip everything off, put this baby on as a baselayer (in addition to my ... Read Moreextensive body hair) and I am golden again with my shell on. Then I head out to some more biking or skiing for the afternoon. Value is the operative word = performance/price. Get one!
I own two of these for work. Four out of five stars. Really soft and warm. When compared to similar pullover from The North Face, this feels a little thin and runs a tad large. TNF version also uses a larger gauge zipper and feels a little more rugged overall. All that said, still worth the price and would buy again.
Hi Sam! Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. We're continuously working on expanding our sizing with every season. So we'll definitely continue add 3XL options in further items. We truly appreciate this feedback, and we'll share it with our design team.

Well Made
I wear this gear both outside and inside my house. It can be used as a mid-layer if desired. Easy to care for and dries very fast. Warm over a windbreaker for outside use.
Living in the foothills of CO I need versatile layers that can range from outdoor activities to indoor. The fit, function and comfort of the Micro D 1/4 zip fits this bill. I have one in every color!
I enjoy how soft it is and how warm for such a lightweight fleece. It is cut a bit small. I am 5 10 and 160 pounds. The fleece fits kind of like a second skin. It takes a fair amount of adjusting once I put it on. Looks great, but is not something I quote throw on unquote.
Great business casual sweater or great on hike/camping. Fully endorse Patagonia twith their corporate mission. Great quality clothes and even greater company.
The Micro-D pull over came in handy for a recent trip to the Great Lakes region. Being on a cruise ship there were mornings with temperatures in mid 50's even in July! Fits funny
I bought 2 of these on line to replace a similar Patagonia fleece that I've been wearing for more than 20 years. I like the new ones, but not nearly as much as the old one. Cheers
The Micro D is my go to fleece. It has a classic fit and is the right weight for taking the dogs out in the morning or layering for a casual office day
I gave an older one (10 years) of this to a chilled buddynever got it back! Replaced it recently,no change in quality. Im bigger,so the new size fits great. Patagonia saves me again. Thanks
This fleece is just right under foul weather gear at night in SoCal.
I wanted a fleece warm enough be an effective layer, but light enough to wear indoors, with a tee shirt - the Micro D does it, and the fit and feel are excellent. I didn't put in the dryer, and it dried quickly indoors. The collar is a little floppy (not a real problem) and a pocket might be useful - hence 4, not 5 stars.
I own three of these because they are the best pullover you can buy. I like to be warm but not too warm and this provides that great balance. I wear it anywhere between below zero to 60 degrees above because you stay warm when it's cool and when it is cold, you can use it as a great baselayer under a coat.
Love the fleece pullover. I also purchased a navy version (this one is gray) earlier in the season. Very soft and warm. Snug in the shoulders, but in no way restrictive. I'll probably buy another color early next winter.
If it was socially acceptable to have like five of these and wear them solely from fall to spring, I probably would :). Warm, light weight, comfortable, easy to layer if needed. I use these for just about any outdoor active stuff, and hanging out in a 68 deg house, sometimes sleep in it, lol.
High quality fleece in a medium thickness. A little loose fitting. Neck is large and very loose fitting. Great for a variety of uses, but loose neck not ideal for skiing.
I own about 5 of these because I like them so much for wearing at work. They are very comfortable, light, and look formal enough for a professional setting. I wouldnt recommend these for very cold temps, but it does the job for cool spring and fall temps. I highly recommend these!
This has been my go to top for 16 years or so! Super comfortable, I usually wear it over a t shirt, but it also goes well over a flannel shirt for more warmth. Once they get tatty looking or stained they are strictly for work, but new or newish I am happy to go out to gallery walk or for a casual dinner with friends.
This size medium was purchased by my wife to replace an old one that I had and was worn out. This medium was smaller than the original medium. We exchanged it for a large. Fits good. Wearing it a lot. Live in NYS.
I own four of these in three different colors. One was stolen out of my car, another has a bunch of burn holes from campfires. The other two are still pretty new. This is one of my favorite go to pieces of clothing. It is light weight, but keeps you at the right temperature. I am wearing it often and would definitely purchase it again!
I bought this to use as a layer under a light or heavy jacket. But, it can hold its own when I wear it all by itself. Good looking and warm. I have it in three colors!, good quality.
Really cozy. Makes a great layer piece under a coat or can stand alone with a base layer underneath on a cool day. I love wearing mine around the house. And out and about!
I would highly recommend this product. Its super warm, the fitting is amazing and it looks good. The material is super soft. I use it as casual wear, walking, hiking and biking!
Ordered size Large based on website size guidance on chest size. Product was far too tight to wear. Returned for XL which fit well. Unfortunately, desired color (red) was no longer available.
I normally buy L/XL in womens but struggled to find a thinner fleece that wasn't restrictive in the shoulders compared to the rest of the sweater. Love this so much, bought 2 for me, 2 for the wife, 2 for my brother. Perfect mid layer for harder weather yet stylish enough on its own as an outer with T-shirts or collars. Great value, too.

Great piece
I love this pullover. Its perfect alone for cool temps and layers well on colder days. My only complaint (and its far from a deal breaker) is that its a bit long on a shorter guy like me who buys a large to fit my shoulders. But its otherwise great and I own several.
I typically wear a size large and this is a good fit. Micro D fleece is great for indoor and outdoor activities. Not too hot for hanging out at home. Fits over a base layer easily. My wife bought the fleece pullover shirts for me and I just love them. I have all the colors as wife made sure of that. Very light weight material and yet keeps me warm, easy to wear, and washes well.

I was looking for a thinner / lighter fleece for hiking in the mountains with lots of elevation changes and temperature fluctuations. This fleece did the job perfectly. Best Fleece I Own
This is the best fleece I have ever owned. Very warm and super soft! I definitely need a few more of these.
This is the perfect lightweight fleece. Excellent for layering and for those cool fall and spring days. (Being tall, XL fits fine, but I do wish there were a "tall" option in sizing.)
I bought this for work (auto mechanic) on days that are chilly to cold. I plan on using it in the garage while working. So far on 40 degree mornings this is more than enough for how light it is. This was a replacement for similar product that was stolen. The micro fleece version of your fleece is perfect for cool mornings and evenings. I found it most useful as an element of layering in dessert climates that start the day freezing and slowly evolve to toasty afternoons.
This a good garment when there is just a slight chill in the air, such as early am in the spring. I have had many heavier Patagonia fleeces and Better Sweaters. This has the same high quality of material and workmanship.
Fits well and allows full range of motion. Warm, but breaths, so allows for use in a broad range of activities. After a few washings the texture becomes less soft and more coarse but still functions well for years, though the insulation effect wanes with time.
I love the product. I have it in two other colors. However, the sizing has either changed or this particular pullover was miss-sized. My previous two pullovers (same product) were larges and fit perfectly. This one was way too tight. I sent back for a XL. Otherwise very pleased with the material, color and style.
I wear a large and this fits me well. What I was most surprised about is that the fleece is warmer than I expected it to be. Given how light it is - especially compared to other brands I've owned - it is surprising warm.
I have a very old capilene pullover with half zipper, size medium, which fits great, over a long or short sleeved layer. Looking at the picture of the 6 foot model with a medium micro fleece, I thought the medium might be too big so I ordered the small: kinda of tight over a tee shirt. Otherwise great.
