Alaska Needs You
More mining and drilling in America's Arctic will push us away from a livable Earth and further into climate chaos. Right now, you can help protect our climate, local communities and biodiversity by asking our government to stop extraction in three areas under threat in Alaska.
If we have any hope of a thriving planet—much less a business—it is going to take all of us doing what we can with the resources we have. This is what we can do.
Been looking for a pair of Orange ski/board pants for some time. And these fit perfectly and look great.
Looking forward to years of great skiing/boarding ahead, as I still have a similar pair from 1996.
Thanks Patagonia!
Runs Large and long which mostly works for me, but noisy?
I am a weird shape and size-- short and stout legs, longer/leaner torso. I'm 5'5 1/2", and am on the leaner side of the average 165 lb person (some gristle for sure, largely carried in my thighs, but also a competitive strength sport athlete, so weight is a bit misleading for size judgement). Pants tend to be long on me, tight in the... Read More thighs and maybe hips, and loose in the waist. I bought the short Large and was pleasantly suprised that they were indeed a little loose in the waist but not crazy loose, and maybe a smidge tight in the thighs but doable. They were VERY long, though, especially considering I bought the short seamed ones! I would say, still maybe 4 or 5 inches long. Thinking wearing them over hiking boots will take care of that, or I'll roll them up a little as I do with many pants! Overall pleasantly suprised with the fit. Question, though: I want to use these for hiking but they sounded very loud walking around. If I'm walking in the rain, will that just ease the friction and sound? Or, does Patagonia have a better match for pants suited for hiking in an often-raining climate?
Thank you for submitting this review, Amy. We're sorry these pants didn't work out for you! You're welcome to [return](https://www.patagonia.com/returns.html) them, if you haven't done so already. In general our ski and snowboard pants are going to be long, as they are designed to be worn with ski or snowboard boots, and the waterproof fabric is likely to be swishy. Other waterproof options would be Torrentshell 3L Pants or the Dirt Roamer Storm Pants, though both may still swish. We have a number of water repellent pants that will be quieter. Our Customer Service Team would be happy to help, if you'd like to reach out.

Poor fit
I have tried 2 Patagonia snow pants. Both were a poor fit. First I tried Storm Shift in XXS. They were acceptably baggy for a Regular Fit but way too small in the waist. Going to an XS would simply be too baggy. Then I tried Stormstride, which is called "slim fit" in XS. (I thought the waist would be too small in XXS.) These pants were no... Read Moret at all a slim fit - they were baggy and also too big in the waist. It would be great if Patagonia would give the same attention to getting sizing right as they do getting materials/sustainability right.
