Nice Sweeter
Really nice but it comes larger than normal and a little bit heavy but thats what makes it nice
Sweaters tend to be a thing I wear around the holidays. Once or twice or three times. I have a beautiful snazzy comfortable Berber wool sweater that I may have worn, over the 40-odd years I have had it, as much as I have worn this one, which I purchased a little over two months ago. (I didnt really know how I was going to feel about sweaters when I... Read More got that one.)
Dunno what it is. Maybe its wool; dry cleaners, yuck. Something I can put in a washing machine, I dont seem to wear much. You can throw this one in with the rest of your wash and it will come out the way it went in. Only clean. That is a great thing with a sweater. The fit and comfort: as right on as any sweater I have used. I am not giving a five because the little teeny hole I have in the front I don't feel I should have gotten with the wear I have given it. (to be fair, cutting a Christmas tree can put a hole in the thing you're wearing to handle the tree with.) But, its not a sweater I am afraid to do things with that might get you a hole, so there is that. And then there is the comfort, the fit, and the wash and wear.
If you dont like sweaters, you might like this one.
Hi Donn, we're sorry to hear about the small hole in your sweater. Please take the time to begin a [free repair](https://www.patagonia.com/returns.html) at your earliest convenience.

Warm and comfortable
This sweater is super comfortable and seems to be pretty warm. I have not tested it in temperatures below 30, but did the trick on a cool fall day.
I have been looking for a commando sweater for quite some time and this one is near perfect. Fit is good for me. I am 6'1" 200 pounds and fits just as I wanted. Not too tight but not loose anywhere. Would be five stars, however mine came with several snags and loose threads on the right sleeve.
This sweater is, as is everything I have from Patagonia, of nice quality. It is comfortable, fits well and is well made. However, I am not, in love with it. Really my fault but cotton and hemp does not make for a super warm sweater. It looks like something one might wear on the Scottish highlands but for that you would need wool or something other ... Hey Joe, thanks for the review. We're sorry that this sweater was not as warm as you were expecting. You're correct that something with wool would be a better choice, and we have the perfect alternative that still has that Scottish Highlands feel you mentioned; our [Recycled Wool Cable-Knit Crewneck Sweater](https://www.patagonia.com/product/recycled-wool-cable-knit-crewneck-sweater/51085.html?dwvar_51085_color=HEXG).

Lovely, casual sweater for a gift X2
I purchased this for my husband who loves the color, fit, quality and overall vibe. We then purchased it for our adult son and we know he's going to love it. These are outdoor guys who live in the Rockies, but who occasionally get to town for a nice meal. Perfect piece!
I can't wear wool and struggle to find a good sweater ; the hemp/cotton fabric feels fantastic on bare skin, is warm without being oppressive, and fits really well with enough stretch to know it'll be good when very active. Looking forward to seeing how well it wears long term, especially the shoulder pathches.
This is a very well made and quite hefty sweater. My only concerns would be how well the stitching of the cable knit will hold up at the seams as I can already see the exposed loops.
Hey Alex, thank you for your review. We wanted to touch on style cuts as you mentioned the sizing on this sweater. This sweater has a relaxed fit, so it is designed to sit looser on the body, which could be why you've experienced other items being smaller in fit but marked as the same size. You can check the cut on an item by looking underneath the size range options on the product page. Hopefully this was helpful!
Hi Andre, thank you for submitting this review. This sweater is cut for a relaxed fit, and it sounds like it may not have been right for you. If you like, we'll be happy to help you [return](https://www.patagonia.com/returns.html) it. Please let us know if we can be of any help!

Cool looking sweater
This will be a useful cool weather piece for sitting outside at the brewery this fall. Nothing you would pack when space or weight are important, but great for around town!
I had bought one of these originally at the full price & was delighted to see it on sale. I bought another color and once it cools off, they will be in the regular rotation... again, right out of the bag comfy & fit great after a wash!
I've always wanted this military like sweater. At present it is 95 degrees in new jersey so it hasn't been worn yet. It does seem very well made and as advertised.
The sweater is just what I was looking for - heavy and warm enough for outdoor activities without needing another shell. Also reminds me of the one I used to wear in the army....
Hi John! Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. We're really sorry to hear that you were disappointed by the quality of the sweater. Your satisfaction is always guaranteed so you're welcome to [return](https://www.patagonia.com/returns.html).

Rugged, heavy and warm, reminiscent of the Ex-Army sweaters I used to buy in the UK.
I originally. purchased two, Olive & Black, both large. The olive was fine, the black was WAY too big, it became obvious it had somehow been mislabeled. Patagonia as ever, made it good no questions their customer service & products are primo and would unreservedly recommend!
Wears exactly as expected and gets better after washing. Perfect for those days with a slight chill in the air. Only negative from my perspective is that it should have a locker loop to hang up on a hook and it does not.
We appreciate your feedback, George! While we do put a hang loop on many of our products, that feature would lead to stretching and misshaping of this heavy knit fabric so we recommend a hanger or folding when not in use.

great casual sweater
Like the working/functional aspect of this cotton blend sweater. Shoulder patches prevent catching of a shoulder strap and increase durability. Nice weight. If it was wool, it would be too warm to wear indoors. Typically the mediums fit me in the shoulders but I need a large for the length. I can wear this in a medium; also bought a large and it fi... Read Morets too, just a little more slouchy in appearance but wearable. Somewhat concerned about shrinkage with washing; best if dry clean.
The sweater is comfortable and fits well for not being a tall size. I am a little disappointed as I got 3 sweaters and 2 of them already have a small hole in the cuff seem. It is a simple fix, but makes me leery of the garments lifespan. Otherwise I am pleased so far and wear them almost every day.

Rugged sweater. I work in this sweater and it holds up very nicely. I normally where wool so the feel of a cotton garment is different but Im getting used to it. Better sweater is my first choice.
Looks great with great fit. Super comfortable with nothing under and even better over a shirt for extra warmth. Also, excellent quality and extremely well made.
Classic Patagonia quality design & execution.
Im 63 205 lbs athletic & the large fits me perfectly.
My wife luvs it on me too.
40% off in the sale made it the Best Buy of the season!
Thanks Patagonia, you never disappoint so I keep coming back.
Bought it as a gift and the person who received it was really happy with it. True to size. Quality - unquestionable. Designed in a manner that one can wear it both casually and for hiking/outdoor activities in the cold weather. Very pleased with how well made the product is. Thank you.
Im 510 155lbs. Originally ordered a small and returned it for a medium. Its comfortable and warm. I wear it to work in an office settling, its versatile.
The Fog Cutter sweater is heavy and provides plenty of warmth for the winter months. The material is durable, while comfortable at the same time. The only thing I was worried about was the fit. As a small guy its hard to find pieces that fit just right, however I was pleasantly surprised that it runs true to size. Extremely satisfied with my purcha... Read Morese!
Over all its a great sweater. Im 65 with an slender athletic build. I run into sleeves being too short often, thats the problem here. This is a very comfortable warm sweater. I have always liked the military style sweaters. This is warm sweater that wears great with a little breathing room. Would recommend.
I love it but if I had to complain about something it would that the sleeves are too long, and torso could be a little shorter for small sizes, Im short so its something am used to when shopping for clothes. I still highly recommend it, got a lot of compliments when I wore this.
Bought as a gift for my husband who is a very particular dresser. He loves this sweater.
The fit, color and design is not only comfortable but distinctive as well. Kudos Patagonia!
This is a great sweater.
The sweater is heavy but not too hot because its cotton.
The fit is right on for me, fitted on shoulders and not too loose in the body.
The color was a little different than the picture but looks good in real light.
I love the new sweater, its perfect for cold or cooler days when you dont want to bundle up just to run into the mall or a store to shop. I always get compliments on the sweater.
I am 5'10"/145 lbs and bought S/black. I used to buy Patagonia M and always the sleeves were too long, and this sweater the size S is perfect. I also used to wear Patagonia R1, R2, nano puff, and Houdini in winter, which are warm, light, durable, and comfortable. However, these synthetic materials generate a lot of electricity, it sparks ... Read Moresometimes! Therefore, I decided to wear non-synthetic materials this winter. This sweater is not wool or cashmere but looks nice and warm enough, and most importantly, no electricity.
I ordered a size down, took a few wears to break in
I wear a Medium in most Patagonia (and most major brands) clothing but I took the advice of reviewers and sized down to a Small for this sweater. It now fits like a slim medium, which is perfect. It took a few wears for the sweater to get comfortable but I'm very pleased with the style and comfort.
Wonderful fit except for the arms. Another inch would be appreciated. Excellent warmth. A bit coarse on the skin, but a daily cool hoodie underneath is perfect.
I really like the look of this, and will keep it. Sleeves could be in inch longer, would make it a five. Its slightly coarse against the skin, but the weave is perfect for holding body heat. A lightweight base works well under it. Its very warm, the weight feels good. I wish Pategonia would consider a 2xlt size category. The 3xl sleeve on a 2XL gar... Read Morement would be perfect.

I've worn this a few times for work and Thanksgiving. Looks great, is very comfy, and warm. Seems well made, but I can't speak to the long-term durability.
I love this sweater, but must echo some other reviews w/respect to sizing. After a few washes, the neck is still quite taught all around, but overall a bit slouchy, making layering tough. Similarly, the mid-section/bottom seems to have loosened. So you end up with tight armpits and shoulders through the neck with a loose fitting bottom, as if the s... Best out there.
Been looking for a sweater in this style for several years now, all the ones Ive tried have fit odd in some way. When I saw that Patagonia made one in this style, I was excited. They did not disappoint. Fits awesome. I usually wear a large in Patagonia, but had to get a medium with this sweater.
Fit is bulky and odd. Loose and wavy at the waist; too short in the sleeve. After the first wash (gentle cycle, low tumble dry), two holes appeared in the sleeves. Would not recommend.
Five stars. I'm 155 lbs and 5'11 and got a small. Fits perfectly. There's not much else to say - it looks great, feels sturdy but not too heavy and is pretty good in terms of insulation. Obviously nothing will beat wool or fleece when it comes to warmth, but this is pretty nice for hemp. Works well as a good mid layer or by itself (m... Read Moreaybe in 50 degree weather). I bought one in green and sediment, but might have to get the black one as well.
One minor suggestion: the shoulder patches are awesome, but I wish the elbows also had patches. Seems like those portions will wear out quicker.
I really like how this sweater fits me, which hasn't always been something I could say about Patagonia products as a short and heavy man. This is a looser fit than is maybe typical for them while not being too long or having sleeves too lengthy. Warm, comfortable, looks good. Very pleased with this.
This sweater feels and looks fantastic. The fit is great, but the only downside is that the sleeves are rather long. I am a medium, and everything from Patagonia so far has fit perfectly, but these sleeves are long. The length of the sleeves, however, will not detriment my love for this sweater.
So glad to see Patagonia making very nice hemp clothing. The shirt, sweater, and jeans were phenomenal quality and really looks great too. Our son is in the business and we are so excited to see such up to date fabrics being used. We will definitely get some use out of these. Thanks!!
I find it difficult to find sweaters that are the right combination of fit, length, weight and style, and comfort . The fog Cutter is the perfect combination these. I would classify the Fog Cutter as a Mid + weight, relaxed fit, everyday sweater that will last. It goes with Jeans or nice pants which makes it a versatile piece of winter wear.
I love Patagonia products but I have a hard time finding ones that fit. I ordered an XXL in this sweater and it is a little larger than I would like. It’s also very scratchy. Since Patagonia offers such a great return policy, I’ll wear it once or twice and see if the fibers calm down a little.
Storming a beach? Planning on going behind enemy lines? This is the sweater for you. Modern take on the classic 'wooley pully'. My only concern was the relaxed fit would be too baggy. I'm tall and slim with wide shoulders and I was worried that I would be swimming in a medium and a small would be too short in the arms and torso. I&#x... Read More27;m after a tailored fit. I finally decided on small and it was the correct decision. I can't get a small in other Patagonia sweaters past my shoulders, but this one fit perfectly. Material is stretchy and a bit scratchy at first. I got the "sediment" colour, which is basically olive drab. So make sure you get a size smaller than usual if you're after the fitted look.
My very first impression of the Fog Cutter was – Patagonia is finally figuring out that sizes XXL and 3XL were never really meant to pair with "slim fit". The whole workwear line has been a revelation. I understand the performance benefits of trim fitting clothes in the technical lines, but it great to see the non-technical/lifestyle item... Read Mores from Patagonia take a fit more reflective of the broader community. Would love to see the same fit across more casual, summery, clothing as well. As I've worn the sweater a few times, I realize, it's not cut a lot bigger, but the knit just allows for a lot of movement without constriction. Drawbacks, it has a fairly rough scratchy feel, I am hoping that'll break in over time. Also wish the black sweater had black shoulder patches rather than grey. Overall a great sweater. Thank you Patagonia for offering clothing to fit bigger folks!
