The Quandry Pants are excellent. I think these are the best pants Patagonia makes. Truly goes from the trail to city. They also look great rolled up. I have them in 3 colors. The width is stylish as well as practical. Keep it up Patagonia!
I have worn them twice so far and they seem great. I live in Colorado and started at 11,300 feet. Hey Cameron, thanks for sharing your thoughts with us on the Quandary Hiking Pants. You might find that the [Women's Altvia Alpine Pants](https://www.patagonia.com/product/womens-altvia-alpine-pants/82965.html?dwvar_82965_color=UPBL) are better suited for your needs. There are many pockets and reinforced knees but there is also plenty of room for movement. If you're still wanting a heftier fabric, then we'd recommend checking out the Women's Iron Forge Hemp Canvas Double Knee Pants - Regular. They won't be as breathable, but the material is very durable.
Great for rainy day
Wore these to Niagara Falls and the water that got under the supplied ponchos ran right off. It was a warm day but the material is quite comfortable. Wish I could get a womens jacket of the same material (no additional linings).
Hey Judith, thanks for the review. We're so happy to hear you're loving the pants! I hike a lot and Im a Levi lover. I purchased these pants to take to Iceland and decided to wear them until the trip. Im hooked. Great pockets-deep enough to be useful with some that zip for security. Light weight, rapid drying and an added perk: they're flattering (or so Ive been told) even though theyre roomy. I bought a second pair!

I bought this pant a couple of years ago and I liked it so much that I bought another one this year. Unfortunately there were a few changes made. The Women's Quandary Hiking pants are excellent! The fit is perfect and they look great on the trail or in town. Amazing fit, lightweight stretch
I love these pants. Right out the bag, I knew they would fit exactly how I wanted them to-a tad looser, not too short, not too long. The ONLY negative about these pants, and the reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5, is the difference in rise from my old pair to the new; it has become significantly shorter. The older pair sat closer to my natural waist which I loved whereas the newer pair sits lower on the hip, below my belly button. Im not a young female, not old but I have a womans figure and would prefer it if these were made with the higher rise as on my older pair. Not sure why Patagonia changed that? That said, I still love these hiking pants, the quality is unmatched! For reference, Im 56 and 128lbs; I purchased a size 4. I highly recommend them!

Great color,light & comfortable!
I bought a size 12 and I am 5'9' & weigh 158 lbs. I really like these pants and get compliments on the color every time I wear them. They're soft, mostly comfortable and look great. The only negative (or weird thing) is that they have a drawstring,as well as a zipper fly,and that the knot in the drawstring rubs on my tummy someti... Read Moremes uncomfortably. I guess it's there in case someone doesn't want to wear a belt? Not sure.
These pants are the perfect weight fabric, and they fit great in the store. I was so happy I found them! However, they stretch out SO much when I wear them they just sag and fall down. The drawstring is useless because it's a stretchy material as well,so I can't tie it tight enough. Maybe going down a size would help, but not sure it would. ... I wanted some quandary pants but past seasons were too short. Now that there's a 32 inch inseam I can have a pair. I usually go for neutral bottoms but I really like the craft pink and also got a top in that color. Probably won't wear together though... I'm between a 10 and 12 on the size chart and between a 8 and 10 in these pants. ... Read MoreSince I don't want them tight it's good there's a tie in the waistband to take up the inch or two of slack. Good fit, fabric, pockets otherwise. I'll use these as a lighter weight version of my sidesend pants, which are too warm for more than mid 70s hiking.
Great pants. Could be perfect if...
These pants are great in my active pursuits. They fit perfectly on my athletic build, and the pocket system is amazing and exactly what I need. The material is fairly comfortable and could be a bit softer. What I wish were different is if the inner-leg seams were softer. Currently, the seaming can irritate the skin at the inner knee. If the inner-leg... Read More seaming and the overall material were softer (maybe like the material of the Tribune Pant,or something in-between?),these pants would be perfect and my one go-to in the backcountry during summer months. These pants would be off the charts if the above happened AND they came in a good green color (like the Hemlock or Industrial greens); in the Bear Brown color; and/or in a camouflage print (maybe deer or bear or eagles or fish shapes in camo colors, like shades of green and tan; or just straight up camo). As someone that needs to blend in to surroundings at times when in the backcountry or when stream/alpine lake fishing,I would definitely buy the Quandary pants in those colorways for high alpine pursuits. (The Oaks Brown in the W's Venga Rock Pants for 2017 is close, but the M's Bear Brown color of 2016 would be much better!!) Thank you product team!
I bought a pair over a year ago,and they have become my favorite pants,so I now have them in another color (and the shorts, too). They fit well (size 2 reg.--110 lbs,5'3). I have used them repeatedly for hiking in warm weather. The fabric is light and stretchy, but durable. I like the roll-up Capri option, and they are flattering. I am very pleas... Best travel and everyday pant I've ever owned!
Just got back from traveling abroad, and had spent what seemed like forever researching the best capsule wardrobe to take over to a cooler climate. I tested these pants out at home first, and wound up wearing them practically everyday for months prior to the trip. Got them in two colors. So comfortable, with superior ease of movement, and durable too! ... Read MoreThey still look brand new with almost continual wear. Very breathable, and even with running through airports sweating,I found that once I was able to sit for any matter of time, the sweat would somehow dissipate. These pants roll up very nicely, take up little space, and any wrinkles that form seem to disappear after wearing the pants for a short amount of time. I washed these in our hotel room sink with soap, and hung to dry. Dried so quickly, too!! Love that I can roll the bottoms up for a Capri style. Also love the drawstring at the waist. The fabric is so soft, and deep pockets at the hip, zippered pockets on the back, and a zippered pocket lower down on the right leg. I can't put my phone in any of the pockets as it seems to weigh down the fabric a bit,but zero complaints about that, that's what my travel bag is for! I'm 5'7,135lb,and size 6 fit perfectly. These do stretch a bit with wear, but not too much. Ten days travel abroad with a child, and only enough room for two pairs of pants? As long as it's not somewhere completely freezing, these are the pants for you! I will wear these pants until they absolutely fall apart.
Sturdy and tough
I bought these at the beginning of the hiking season. I'm 5'6" and 135 pounds. I have the 6,which fits great. I have worn them through all kinds of willow brush, many miles of stinging nettles, and one really hot day. I've hiked 4 times in them now,and 2 backcountry overnight hikes. I am very happy to see these pants hold up to br... Read Moreush and thorns, and are comfortable even in warm weather.
They actually fit!
I am 5'4",125 lbs,and have the worst time finding pants that fit my quads. I have taken back many pants because if they fit the waist, then they are obscene my legs or if they fit my legs,I could stuff a pillow in my backside. This is the first pair of active pants (size 6) I have had that fit,and they are super comfortable, even for a long... Read More plane ride! Only complaint is that I can't fit an iPhone 6 or 7 in its case in the side pocket with zipper and still zip it up (I love to keep my phone there so I can sit down with it still in a zipped pocket). So happy with the fit, though, still gets 5 stars.
The fit I was looking for
I originally bought the venga rock pants because those were advertised as slim. I'm built very narrow and normally wear a size 24 in jeans. The zero in the venga rock pants was still too baggy,so I chatted with customer service who said the measurements of the quandary pants were actually smaller than the vengas,so I ordered a zero in these an... Read Mored they fit much better! I bought them specifically for hiking but I also have an active job and they look nice enough to wear to work as well, which means I'll get double duty out of these.
Lightweight but very tough
I wore my first pair 3x a week for 6 months on and off trail and they still look brand new! They are light and cool enough to wear in the summer and dry quickly, but I wear them all year round. They are also great to wear in the office. I still look professional after hiking all day.
