Ms All Seasons Hemp Canvas Double Knee Pants - Regular

So close, but pretty far

A+ on the fabric/ material. A very durable and light material that keeps you cooler than other work pants. BUT, this work pant gets an F rating in practical design. These are work pants, they need side plier/ utility pockets on both sides. After two years of use, I still get frustrated every time I wear these pants while working on a project and ha... Read Moreving no place to quickly stow my hand tools. Yes, they have deep rear pockets but they are poorly placed for any type of hand tool storage or access. Sadly these pants are a complete neutral rating to me. The excellent, lightweight and durable hemp fabric is 100% offset by the poor work pant design.

Replaced my jeans for work

I kept going through the knees on jeans I typically wore to work. These were a comparable price and so I switched. I bought one pair to try the fit and within a week bought two more pairs. They remind me of the Japanese farmer pants I once wore but can no longer find. These pants are so comfortable and fit me so well. And the pockets, the pockets: ... Read MoreGenius! I can carry all the tools I need and not even notice. Gripes? Well, my days often find me in pricker patches and the fabric will snag and break threads. But I no longer go through the knees. The other gripe, a more serious one, is the design of the zipper fly. Is it just me, but the zipper tends to slip down with activity. With all three pants. Fortunately, my wife usually reminds me to zip up before we meet other people. Perhaps the least of her virtues. Thanks, Patagonia. For my next set of pants, I may upgrade to the Iron Hemp model for the sake of the briars.

Roomy and Manueverable

Great fit. Maybe a touch on the baggy side, but surprisingly maneuverable (great for ranch work). Might even try for climbing.

Great Work Pants

Comfortable, not heavy of stiff, made with hemp, recycled poly and organic cotton. the are as comfortable as a pair of jeans but will stand up better and hold my kneepads.

August 22, 2023

Perfect work pant

This hemp pant is the perfect work pant. It is comfortable and the fabric and construction are durable enough to withstand even harsh treatment.. I will never work outdoors in cotton jeans again - my new go-to work pant

Great work pants!

Super comfortable so far! Seems to be rugged enough for outdoor maintenance work. Only small complaint is they are a bit baggy in the calves. Other than that seems to be the real deal. Long time Carhartt fan but can see switching to these as they continue to get better and possibly offer some different colors.

Worth it

These are fantastic work pants. Feel great, durable, huge pockets. Will buy more.

Finally something substantial

I'm so happy to find a pair of pants that have some weight to them and fit nicely. It seems everything well made these days is light and has some lycra in them. These are old school and are the complete opposite. Thank you for making a real work jean that fits well! Now if only the technical fishing jackets had some of this philosophy.

Holding up well.

Have held up to a few weeks of abuse doing masonry and carpentry. Would love a leg pocket on the left side as well. Fit is perfect for me, not too loose or tight. Comfortable to wear alone in 25 degree weather. Would recommend.

Strange Fit 2

Found the sizing chart confusing - ended up only receiving 1 of the 2 sizes I wanted to try on. Great outdoor work pant

The durability and motility of these pants make them superb for working in the yard or climbing. I like the heaviness of them too for cooler days.

Great work pants!

Im 5 10 , 180 lbs, and have a 32 inseam and 34 waist. The waist size is perfect but they are a little long. I just wear them to cut firewood and do yard work so its fine. They are fairly light weight compared to the Car H@rts not in a bad way though they are still tough just not as hot. I like them and would buy another pair when these wear out.

Really nice pants

I'm really happy with these pants. The material feels durable but soft and moves well. I bought a 38 (my usual size) and it has plenty of room in the seat and leg (though is a little tighter at the waist as though just that band is cut a little small). Light, tough, roomy, warm

I found myself reaching for the utility pocket to put my pencil away as you hand in every other brand work pant. The back pockets are the best. Soft but way too heavy

I love Patagonia so I really wanted to like these work pants but I just cannot stand wearing them anymore. Pros: -The fabric is very soft and breathable. I work in a woodshop in Hawaii and the pants do not cause extra perspiration, which is great since I'm already sweating plenty as it is while I work. -The pockets are great: Very roomy and d... Read Moreeep. The rear pockets, especially, have a low-cut entry and are very easily accessible. If I need to do work away from my bench, they hold small tools, a utility knife, pencils, permanent markers, etc., very well. Cons: -Length: They are too long. I ordered the "regular" inseam length and I have to roll them at the ankles several times or else they are bunched up uncomfortably around my boots. Perhaps I should have ordered the short length but I am 5'11", a very average height, so I didn't think that would be necessary. -Weight: the biggest problem for me, and the main reason they just sit in my closet now, is the weight. They are way too heavy, even without anything in their pockets. At the end of an 8-hour + work day, I am dying to get these pants off and relieve the pressure on my hips. I just dealt with it for a couple of months but no longer. Disappointing.

Comfy

These pants are, as expected, very well made and comfortable. I would recommend them in a heartbeat, but advise to order (2) sizes up. Workwear throwback with updated style

I came across this pant in the Stone Blue colorway at the Freeport, Maine store and was immediately taken with the color (like a true, but slightly lighter, denim blue) and the kind of throwback workwear aesthetics of them. Tried them on in a 38 W (I wear a 34/35 depending upon brand) knowing they would not fit but trying to get a feel for overall ... Read Morefit. Ordered the 35 W Regular and was surprised on a few fronts. First, there is some color variation; the Stone Blue that I received was a bit more muted. Second, these are Patagonia snug; the 35 works for me but is a bit tight after a meal. Third, the regular length deserves a cuff or two to wear with sneakers or boots; I intended to wear them this way but if you wear a 30 inch inseam and do not plan to cuff the legs I might recommend the short style. I would say that the waist is a mid rise; not worn at belly button level like traditional workwear but also certainly not sitting on the hips. The hemp blend is PERFECT for warmer weather and the pant has an overall relaxed fit without unexpected bagginess. A few reviews mentioned the drop crotch being an issue but I think it fits well and allows for great freedom of movement. Intended for these to be everyday pants and handle light work and I cant see them disappointing. That being said, if you intend to use them as primary work pants I could see them not being the heaviest of duty items. But for me these are both a fashionable and functional pant that I was surprised to see Patagonia making!

They also seem quite durable. I bought them used over a year ago and there are no significant signs of wear. I hope the fit of these doesn't change based on other reviews. With the looser fit I can fully articulate without fighting the pants. Also I usually break pants by ripping them at the crotch or the pocket wearing through where I keep my keys, but the loose fit alleviates those concerns. My only complaint is that they're partially made of synthetic material. I hope some of the workwear line starts being made out of all natural materials for those of us who do hot work(eg. welding), since I don't like the idea of my clothes melting into my skin.

I want to like these pants. The fabric is great, rugged, lightweight and does great in warm weather. Almost Great

I like almost everything about these pants- material, weight, pockets and most of the ways it fits. That's an easy fix though. My bigger gripe and a f... Read Moreix that is beyond me is with the gusset. Don't get me wrong- I love me a crotch gusset, but on these pants the gusset is so large and situated just so, that when in a standing position, it feels like I'm wearing a canvas diaper. Crouched or climbing, its fine. Standing and walking, the gusset seams rub against the insides of my poor thighs and instills in me a sensorial anxiety effect reminiscent of my mom trying to get me to wear socks and shoes to kindergarten. But I'm 30 now and have mostly conquered that and still wear these mostly great pants and do my best to enjoy them.

Super comfortable

Amazingly comfortable material, thick and durable yet soft and comfortable at the same time. A unique blend of strength and comfort. I would 100% recommend to anyone who needs a durable pair of work pants, if your in the trades. Not sure they would be appropriate office wear, they do look like work pants, after all.

Overall keepers.

I have two of these . The first was a 36 and a little tight in the waste but otherwise fine. These I had to change the 36 for 38 as the waste was over an inch to small. This new pair is very loose in the leg and seat.

The hemp blend fabric is very comfortable and early use indicates it should wear very well. Very pleased with the available odd inch waist sizes. The 33" waist is true to size. As a carpenter, Ive been through a fair pair of work pants. I decided to give these pants a try. I love the hemp material, much softer than traditional work pants. I got these pants for my boyfriend. The only complaint, size wise, I'd say is that they are quite long. He is 6'0 and I just ordered a regular in length, but he has to cuff them at the bottoms. I don't understand the cut of these pants. They are the same width all the way down the leg. Whose calves are the same size as their thighs? Horribly baggy, tight crotch

I was really excited about these pants. Build quality seems nice and the fabric feels soft and comfortable. I can't imagine how they'd fit with someone skinnier! As many others have stated, the crotch is too tight and has no give, thus serving as a "weggie factory". For work pants, having your underwear cause you physical pain isn't the goal. I find the inseam stitching rough and irritates my thighs, which I can't imagine how that would feel after a whole day of working in these. Sitting on logs and rocks. They are... Read More still going strong with little sign of wear. I wear them almost daily even on warm Minnesota humid days. The new pair are 36. A bit large around my waist with only a t-shirt but they cinch up nicely with a belt. My only wish for them is to be a size 35.

Almost Perfect

As a hands on general contractor I need durable, comfortable pant to get into the trenches on site and still look presentable when the clients show. These pants have been in constant rotation and have not let me down. 4 stars only because they are not 5 pocket.

Great pants for work

Have only worn these for a week so far. Comfortable, hoping they dont shrink much after first wash. I work on trails for a living, and these pants seem perfectly capable of holding up to the work involved.

Great Pants need darker colors

I love the pants I work as an arborist apprentice and these are really comfortable pretty durable and great for climbing trees. I just wish the colors were a little darker to hide the dirt a little.

Best work pants I've tried.

I'm a commercial electrician, and own a farm. These pants are my everyday wear for work and farm. 2 years on the first pairs, still going strong. 100 times more comfortable than Carhartt, and just as durable.

If you like loose fitting easy to wear pants you'll like these.

Fantastic in both all weather and the heavier weight

I really just love these pants, what can I say? I wear them 6-7 days a week all year round for my job. I work with lots of dogs, messes, movement (we average 12miles a day walking) and also working on the actual ground. The double knees last a long time and even with a tear I still dont have to worry.

Very comfortable

Although I am a long time happy customer of Patagonia, this is my first purchase of this particular pant, and I really like it. I only wish it came in black too, like the heavier duty version. Otherwise, I recommend the pant.

Great fabric

Fabric feels great, soft like theyre already worn and broken in. Overall size ran a little big. I own a different pair of work wear pants the same size and they fit great.

Not flattering (on me)

I really like the materials and look of pants... Until I put them on lol they look horrible from every angle. They make melooks like I'm wearing adult diapers. Also, I hover around a 36" and 38" waist. The 38's I have are super tight around the waist and not forgiving at all. I have two pairs, one blue and one green. The middle ... 5th pair

I have 4 pairs from the first run a year or two ago? and I love them, these ones are equally good so far. I wear these pants year round in Virginia for work (Aircraft Mechanic) and at my small farm. The only thing I've noticed is that these ones seem to be thinner than the OG's. I still think they are awesome I just hope they hold up.

So much better than Cotton Duck.

Second pair of these, wearing well. Not stiff and scratchy like cotton duck. I would love a tool pocket on the side for my pruning shears.

Comically small

Wish I'd read these other reviews more carefullyy instead of trusting Patagonia. To say these are not true to fit or "runs small" is an understatement. I ordered a 34 and had to double check I'd ordered correctly. I can't review the rest of the pant since I was never able to wear them.

Excellent pants

These are excellent pants. I am a field ornithologist and I bought a pair for work pants in the summer in Montana and the winter in northern Mexico. I wore them every single day this past winter managing an off-the-grid field station and studying birds in coastal thornscrub forest. They are the perfect warm weather pants for pretty much anything sh... Read Moreort of vigorous hiking or something equally high energy. They're tough enough to resist mosquitoes, thorns, and abrasive surfaces. They also breathe well enough that I don't overheat when I'm bushwacking on surveys, handling camp chores, or running errands in town in the hot desert sun. But they're substantial enough that they are warm enough for me most months of the year (though I run warm). They fit loose but move with you well. I thought the oversized back pockets were gimmicky at first, but I've come to really like them. I use to them hold notebooks, tools, work gear, I'll even stuff a windbreaker in a back pocket when going out for a walk. They're also very durable. Heavier weight pants from other companies have never lasted me more than 2 seasons. My first pair of these lasted 4 seasons before wearing out this summer. I just bought two more pairs on sale. I think they are my favorite pant.

Comfortable

I have tried several brands of work pants. These are by far the most comfortable and least hot of the canvas style pants. They are quite durable and the pockets will hold almost anything. I love that the double knee covers the entire front from seam to seam and extends far enough down to still cover the knee when kneeling. However, I have had sever... Read Moreal pairs at this point and the crotch gusset fails on them eventually. They could also use a version with some smaller side pockets like the denim pants and a pair with zippered pockets. True to their iron clad warranty, Patagonia has replaced the pants or the gusset on every pair I have sent back.

Workwear pants without a knife pocket?!?!

I want to love these pants but without a knife pocket they just aren't functional. The hemp material is extremely comfortable and seems durable, and the design is great otherwise, but farm pants without a knife pocket don't work.
