I have been searching for great overalls for years and here they are
I am 5 ft 3 in 125 pounds. Small SHORT fits perfect. I typically do not buy short pants because I do not like them even a touch too short but based on other reviews this was the perfect length for me. The fabric is nice, the pockets are great. Recommend
The perfect overalls
These overalls are a dream! I'd buy every color if I could afford it. They are super soft and comfortable yet feel really durable. I also love how lightiweight the fabric is - its not thin but it also doesnt feel like Im carrying around 15 pounds of fabric like some denim overalls do. Im 5'5 and the short length is perfect for me. I found... Read More that they run a little big - Im usually a M but took a small in these.
Finally overalls for shorties!
I love these overalls. I am 5'0, 100lbs and just super petite overall. I have been trying to find overalls for working outside forever when my husband found these. I ordered the xxs short. They are still a little long but with boots it's not a problem. They're so comfy and I can wear leggings or long johns underneath with no issue. T... I'm 5'4", 123 pounds, and I went with the S - short length. I'm wearing these as I write this, slouched on my couch and super comfortable; earlier I wore them out cross-country skiing because I couldn't be bothered to change, and they worked great for that too (with some good knee-high gaiters.) They arrived already soft an... Read Mored broken-in, yet the fabric feels sturdy too. The color was a bit lighter than I'd expected and then it appears in the pictures--it's a light golden tan, not the acorn-ish color it looks online. But I have not worn overalls since I was a little kid and I really like these. Bonus: they make my bum look pretty good! Overalls! That never happens. Good pocket placement and size, Patagonia!
I recently got a pair in blue which is probably one of the best fitting overalls I ever had. For size 4-6 and the size S fit perfectly. The fabric is pretty and feels nice. My one concern is that on the first day of wearing it, the fabric snagged and pilled from working near plywood, which makes it not durable enough as a work garment. I hope more ... XL needs work
I am 5'5, 202 pounds. I carry my weight in my midsection and thigh's. The bottoms of these overalls are like bell bottoms and even tho they were "short" it was still too long for my height. Its so annoying getting XL-plus size clothing and the legs and ankle areas are always huge. XL people are not the same all over! I really wa... Read Morent to keep these and have them fixed to have a slimmer fit on the legs but whats the point, for the price i might as well return them.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review and we are very sorry to hear about the fit issues you've encountered with your overalls. Please rest assured that we will be passing along this information to our Product Design Team so they may look into updating the style in future iterations. In the meantime, please feel free to [return](https://www.patagonia.com/returns.html) your overalls at any time as we want you to be completely satisfied with all of your Patagonia products.
I got a pair of these overalls in the green (xs) for my birthday and I loved them! So I decided to buy them for work. I got the small this time so I could wear layers underneath and it was the best decision I made! Also getting the short overalls was better as I am 5'3". The small is a bit bigger in the waist and butt area, which is great... Read More so I can move around. It is also a little too big in the chest area (but I am small chested so that is likely why). I would definitely buy these again in blue if they had my size! 10/10 recommend for anyone who does any kind of field work (construction, geology field work etc) or if you want a cute casual look.
Sent it back
I really like these overalls but returned due to the shoulder straps being way too short. I read other reviews that had the same problem.

We're sorry to hear the fit wasn't quite right on these, and glad that you were able to return them to your local Patagonia-owned store. Please reach out to our Customer Service team if you'd like any measurements before you purchase. We'll be happy to help!
Very comfortable fit, true to size!!
I love these! They are so comfortable. The fabric/material is soft and gives easy for work and casual wear, not too thick and not too thin, just right. They are also warm on cooler days. Pockets hit just right at the hips and the waist and legs are roomy but definitely not baggy. Highly recommend these overalls!!
Super Comfy and Durable
These are my go-to farming overall. I can be on my knees all day, in mud, gravel, wood chips, etc. and these overalls stay comfy and functional through it all. I haven't seen any rips or wearing thin of the fabric through three years of use. I have noticed some pilling on the front of the overalls from carrying lumber and having the wood grain... Read More drag across the fabric, but that's not surprising. I've also ordered these in a small for a more form-fitting overall, but I miss being able to squat low, which is hard with a snug thigh. Both sizes are great for different reasons. Size down if you want a snugger, more stylish look, and stick to a true size if you're going to be squatting/moving extensively in them.
Useful and Cute
I kept wanting these overalls but hesitating because I didn't know how they would fit. While I am on the slim side, I am a bit rounder in the abdomen than the average 107-pounder, I guess, because I have been unable to wear Patagonia pants for several years. I hoped maybe because of the shape of these they might work, and they do. They are gre... Read Moreat. The overalls felt ever so slightly tight and stiff when I first put them on and must have eased a bit, because they are now perfect. I love that I can adjust the straps, and the short length means I don't have to roll them up. So far I am using them primarily for gardening. The deep pockets hold my iPod and headphone case without the chance of their falling out. The center pocket's snap secures my phone from falling into whatever I'm pruning. The material seems thick and durable - great for working in the garden - but the style is cute enough to wear just about anyplace. Great job and thanks, Patagonia!
So long forever, blue jeans
For starters, this is my 2nd pair. The medium fits my small, pear-shaped, 60+ frame perfectly. I wear this short inseam uncuffed with boots or cuffed with a pair of flat espadrilles. The weight of the fabric feels lighter and softer than denim yet substantial, and even though they're bibs I think they are cute enough for running errands. My fi... Read Morerst pair (in blue) are my workhorse pair, and these (in green, it's gorgeous) are the play clothes. A really nice casual option, they look good with a sleeveless tank or a chambray button shirt. Well constructed as one expects of a Patagonia garment, care is simple: cold wash, line dry, and you're good to go.
Really durable for grimy work
I've worn my short bibs to work every day for the last two summers (I trim horse hooves and run a stable). They are basically indestructible, so I decided to give the longer bibs a try. They are ridiculously soft on the first wear, and I think mine may have stretched a bit, but I still am happy. I bought the "short" length but they a... Read Morere plenty long to wear with boots. I also got a large size so I could layer over longies and sweaters: I think a medium probably would have worked, too, but I'm keeping the large because I already love them. If they're anything like my short bibs, they'll clean up well in a cold wash and a line dry. I keep hoof picks in my pockets, the horses love to rub their heads on the back seams, I kneel in dirt and sometimes manure, I hold hooves on my knees, and these bibs are fine with all of that, and still look pretty darn cute at the end of the day. My new uniform.
I absolutely love these! So much so that I came back for another pair in a different color! They are soft right out of the box, lightweight and breathable, and are just roomy enough that I am not constantly pulling the legs down every time I stand up. I have an athletic build at 5 feet 4 inches tall, and weigh 150 with a long torso and short legs. ... Read MoreThe size medium *short* fit me perfectly! Thanks for the short option for us vertically challenged folk!
Let me start out by saying I love the idea and the fabric behind these overalls. I am so sad that the designers didn't take into account how important it is to have shoulder straps that are truly flexible in their adjustability. I am 5'1/2" and weigh 110. I initially purchased the size S and I could've made them work (rolling up... Read More the hem) but the shoulder straps were awful. They wouldn't adjust to shorten enough for me. I am shorter waisted but not overly so. I'm simply a petite woman. I thought I'd give the XS a chance b/c I truly love everything about these overalls (if they'd only fit). The XS were too short in the rise and the legs were a bit too tight across the thighs. If I were tall and extra skinny, these would possibly work. But I am neither so they don't. I desperately wanted these for my work in the garden and on the farm. I would've bought one in every color if they'd fit. I'm so bummed. I know I'm not the only one that found the straps awkward and unusable.

Hey Mary, thank you for the review. We're sorry to hear that the fit on our All Seasons Hemp Canvas Bib Overalls did not work for you. We have recently made changes to the straps on these to allow for a larger range of adjustment, but it sounds like it still is not working for you. The good news is that our designers do check on reviews for feedback to refine designs, so thank you for taking the time to let us know. We do have an entire Workwear line so you're welcome to check the rest of it out [here](https://www.patagonia.com/shop/womens-workwear). If you need garment measurements to make sure something will work, feel free to reach out to us.
Hemp overalls...can't beat them for comfort and durability. I liked the previous incarnation, but there were minor challenges that made them not as great as they could be. But now - wow - amazing! These overalls are very comfortable and lightweight. The fabric is not too thick, perfect for a spring or early fall weather. These overalls are not too heavy for hot days. I am 53 34/26/37. 118 pounds. I have athletic thighs and hip area. I didnt want these to cling so I sized up to the Medium Short.
