Happy Warm Kids
It is certainly very large but excellently designed. It will end up being used by multiple kids. Bought for granddaughter. Our kids used the last generation which got passed on to several other kids. If you amortize the cost over the number of kids who will use it, Patagonia is practically giving them away; plus you get warm happy kids.
Love it, but it really is crazy big
My son is pretty massive. Hes above the 100th percentile in all categories. His little dot is just chilling above the graph. This was wayyy too big on him. Im completely content with that because I want it to last but if you would be disappointed by that I might even suggest ordering a size down. However, I love it overall and am super happy wit... Received this as a gift for our daughter. The 12-18 month is still a bit large for her, even with some room to grow in it, but it doesn't hinder her movement. Works great as a toddler snowsuit
We bought this in blue the winter our son was about 9 months old in the 6-12 month size. It was way too big - about twice as large as he was (and my son has been around 90%ile for height since birth). However it was the perfect toddler snowsuit the next winter, and we still get use out of it as a backup now that he is a little over 2.5 years old. D... Best snowsuit around
Even though this suit is very expensive my son wore the 6-12 month version until he was two and it fit well and kept him super warm. Just purchased this last available size in this suit for him to use the next two years. Hes always snug and warm in this suit in the Montana winter!
Gets the Job Done
This suit keeps our 7 month old plenty warm. He sleeps in it when we camp during the winter months, as well as wears it comfortably for daytime outdoor recreation. It is, as other reviewers have mentioned quite large, but I believe its been made that way with a functional purpose in mind. Our son is in the 98% for weight and height and at 7 months ... Read Morethe 6-12 size is roomy on him; allowing for both layering beneath, and growth through the season. The only reason Im not giving this review a five star rating is due to the material being barely water resistant. We live in the PNW and the famed incessant rain is no joke. Since this suit is clearly meant to be an outermost layer, Id like to see Patagonia improve its water resistance. In review, we love this garment and are thankful for it. Well keep it for babes to come, and pass it on to another family further down the road. It deserves a long life of full use.
Perfect cold weather gear for baby
I love these bunting suits. This is the 2nd one I purchased for my son. Hes 18 months and in the 85% percentile for height and weight. Hes still wearing his 6-12 month suit. I am excited to have my child wear this when the right size finally arrives; however, we originally ordered a size 6-12 for our 6 month baby who was approximately 27 inches long (which is normal for a 6 month old) and he was SWIMMING in this. Hi Martina, we're so sorry to hear about the sizing issues with the Infant Hi-Loft Down Sweater Bunting. Perfect Snow Suit - but BIG!
Bought this snowsuit for my son who was going to be turning 1 in December. Thankfully I read the reviews that the suit runs large so I ordered 6-12 even though I was starting to get 12-18 in most of his clothes. I was very satisfy and confident my kid was warm and cozy the first few months. Less than 4 months later I find myself having to buy a new suit because my son's pants (under the suit) are wet most of the time. It started with only a little bit on top of his diaper and on some days it was the entire legs of the inside pants soaked. I read the answer(from Patagonia) to another customer complaining about the same issue. The answer said that the suit was not waterproof but water-repellent. I understand and I am not talking about situations where the snow transforms into rain nor when it's above the freezing point. I was expecting that the snowsuit would be snow repelling ;) Anyway, I am very satisfy with the snow pile one which is warm, dry and resistant but it is not the same fabric. I wish this model would be has great but sadly, I cannot recommend even if I really liked it the first 3 months. If you only carry a kid in a stroller or car and your kid doesn't go in the snow, it could be a good choice, but if he plays in the snow, then I wouldn't buy this model because you'll find yourself having to buy a new suit in the same winter.

Do not buy if you expect to keep baby dry
I have two older kids and we are outside all the time in Vermont. I always buy Patagonia. This one was a disappointment. Within 30 minutes my 9 month old was soaking wet. Going to try and return as it does not withstand snow weather which is like 6 months out of the year.

Perfect for backpacking with baby!
This was incredible for backpacking with our baby in the snow-- it was comfortable for our daughter to sit in the backpack without getting cold or bitten by mosquitoes. This has been one of our most-used pieces of baby gear (even though we live near Santa Barbara, hah!).
Sizing guide way off
Great Bunting, but the sizing guide was way off. Our son is 27" long, so only 1 inch to go in the 3-6mo bunting. We got him the 6-12. His whole body, legs extended, fit into the body (not into the legs at all) of the 6-12 months. Order the smaller size if you're on the fence.
Love this but the sizing is insane!
I purchased this before my little one was born.... when I purchased there was no NB size option (?) so I got a 0-3 month as she was due in feb. There is NO WAY this will ever fit. We received this as a gift in 2017 in the 3-6mo size and she wore it all of last winter (ages 5mo-7mo) even though it was quite large on her. And guess what? She’s getting a SECOND season out of it! That alone makes it worth the price. I am planning to p... Read Moreurchase another, and expect she will wear it for the end of this season and into next. Nothing else keeps her as warm as this bunting and we love knowing that she is toasty warm while she’s in the stroller, the hiking pack, or the bike trailer. No chilly babies in our house! Thanks, Patagonia!
Sizing super off and not practical to take on and off
The quality seems great and it seems to keep our 6 mo. old very warm. However, the sizing is WAY off (we use the 3-6mo size and our 6 mo old wears 9-12 mo in every other piece of clothing). The way it is designed (two zippers that don't go down far enough) also makes it very hard to take on and off which is a huge pain.
WAY TOO BIG
I don't know who is in charge of sizing, but all of the reviews say the same thing. I bought my 19 month old son a size 18-24 and he is SWIMMING in it. It might be too big for him next year! I had to send it back which is a shame because it is a perfect looking warm suit but the sizing has lost my business.
Size.At six months my baby is 75cm long. So 6-12 which normally runs big on other babies is good for us. The hands and feet are long but I don’t mind folding them it has a nice inside color. Warmth: we live in upstate NY so we need something warm for winter and so far it’s pretty warm, it hasn’t been tasted on real cold yet but it’s not thin. I al... Read Moreso ordered one bunting from North Face that one is smaller but the design on this one wins, 1 it’s pretty 2 it’s got two zippers which I was looking for because in the car you can easily open them so the baby don’t overheat. What I don’t like is that it doesn’t have gloves like other bunting for baby have. I wish I could add a picture so you can see how it looks like in real life. First I got the navy color but it’s just too dark for a baby. The light green is just amazing.
This is adorable and looks super well-made and cozy... I just cannot get the sizing right for my 9-month old girl who is in the 80th percentile for weight/ and 99th for height.... knowing it ran big,I still bought the 6-12 month bunting b/c it's expensive... I hated to buy something too small (or on the edge of small). The bunting was HUGE (li... Read Moreke ridiculously big). Returned for a 3-6 month size and it barely fits - no room to spare. I guess we are between sizes? Returning my second one..... Now trying 2 other brands. Bummer. Baby is about 20 lbs and quite long/tall..... Love all my other Patagonia baby stuff... find it mostly does run on the bigger side.
We bought a 6-12 month for our daughter and we were excited to be able to use it from when she was 9-months to two years. With the mittens and boots that flip over this kept our daughter warm and was well worth the money. My only complaint is that for a company that encourages re-use I would love to see gender neutral colours and patterns. I feel s... Read Moreorry for my next child if its a boy because he is gunna have a hot pink snow suit.
