Lovely jacket for our Iceland trip ... it's pretty much the required tourist uniform in Iceland.
However - after using my camera sling bag the first day of the trip for about 5 or 6 hours, I noticed the outer shell of the jacket was being worn out where the bag touched it. I ended up baby-ing this jacket through the rest of the trip and did n... Read Moreot continue to use the camera bag.
To me, that severely limits the usefulness of this jacket - if I'm nervous about wearing through it when using bags/backpacks, then I don't really see the point. Have a pic to attach, but there doesn't seem to be a way to do that here.

Great fit, style and warmth!
Fits true to size. Comfortable shape. Just the right amount of insulation and weight
I am 5'6'+ and 150#. The Micro Puff jacket which seems to be a good design I would not have returned except for the fact that the Medium had been too loose with long sleeves and the Small was too small across chest and shoulders. The color choices were curious with a Smolder Blue and a Black that were too similar in appearance. I was not ... Read Moreshopping for a red color, the third choice. I have long appreciated what Patagonia represents but I was surprised at the sizing and minimal color selection. Still a fan and will be back again soon.

Compact but Warm Layering Piece
I keep this stashed in my touring pack due to its low volume but very good warmth. I can layer it in multiple ways. Since it's synthetic fill, there are no worries about getting wet. This is a great, minimalist layer to keep stashed in your kit.
This is in the middle of the Patagonia "puffy" lineup and it the perfect mid layer in the 30s-40s, or an outer layer in the 50s-60s. As a synthetic, it doesn't lose warmth when damp, and can be scrunched up in a tiny stuff-bag for traveling. This is the Goldilocks of layering pieces....wear it everywhere.
Overall, I really like this coat. It is light and warm as advertised. The style is great. However, as others have noted I have a bit of an issue with the neck. It seems the Patagonia product designers are overthinking things. The neckline tapers upward too much, creating an annoyance whenever the coat is not fully zipped. Reduce the neckline taper ... Read More(and add a zippered interior chest phone pocket) and the coat gains another star in my rating.
I really like it. I wear it in the snow and freeing conditions while walking, exercising, or running around town and it keeps me just right. Definitely has that high warmth to weight ratio. The fabric is tough enough, though I do keep in mind how light weight ten denier ripstop is and try not hammer on it too much. Over all I am impressed. Cozy fee... Read Morel. Very versatile jacket.
The Micro Puff is a very nice jacket.
I particularly like the new sewing pattern -- it is much, much better than previous seasons, which, in my opinion, look either too square (like a brick building) or too round (like rolls of bubble wrap). Please keep this pattern and keep experimenting with new designs. I really strongly prefer the new design.... Read More
I think there are two small areas for improvement:
1. Warmth. The jacket is very warm *for its weight* but is not quite warm enough to wear with only a shirt in 40-50F/5-10C. If it's possible to increase warmth a bit more while adding marginal weight, that would be perfect for Santa Barbara County pretty much year round.
2. The breast pockets are pretty deep. I appreciate giving us large pockets, but the pockets are a little too big. When I have my wallet in the breast pocket, it weighs on my hands in the other pockets, interfering with comfort.
The Micro was ordered in appreciation of its more muted fabric. Also a draw, the more novel sewing pattern. Upon arrival it revealed itself that one can approach the envelope of what a flyweight piece offers ~ at least this being so where general non-technical use and wear is expected. While the size M fit well in the chest, shoulders and sleeves..... Read More. the cut of the collar didn't come across as 'accommodating.' More confining was my take. It also rode up more than it should (unless it had been cut more loosely so you had more protection.) Being able to fully zip a piece like this ~ it's not an area of reasonable concession. Not one where there's latitude. Something either fits well enough and you can use it. Or it doesn't and you can't. * My frame is much like those here that are serving as the models. Ok. One can't have it all. Trade-offs arise. And this was a piece clearly designed with a more directed purpose. But noting that the pockets came off as more borderline insubstantial... this too helped to decide that this become a return.
We're sorry that the fit wasn't quite right on this piece for you, Charles. You're welcome to send it back and check out our other options [here](https://www.patagonia.com/shop/mens-jackets-vests).

amazing warmth
From ordering to delivery Patagonia does not disappoint
Awesome jacket, super light weight and warm, Breathes well and does not over heat or get clammy inside. Ive used it fly fishing in 30 deg weather and in 50-60 deg days, Its been comfortable every where i wear it!
This is an excellent addition to my down jackets ( down sweater and down FitzRoy). This jacket is superb light and very warm in Chicago windy cold wet weather. Blue is great color too. I wish Patagonia adds zipper top pockets like FitzRoy ( one would be fine, inside or out). Must have for outdoor activities and travel.
Picked this up because I needed a packable jacket to wear in damp windy conditions. This worked perfectly, jacket packed down small and was warm enough 30-40 degree weather with a wind or mist. Was also stylish enough to wear around town.
This jacket is surprising light weight to the point I don't feel like I'm wearing a jacket. Despite its light weight the jacket keeps me very warm. So far I've been able to wear it in cold temperatures down to 25F and kept comfortably warm. I've been able to wear it against moderate winds and the jacket held up well. The pocket ... Read Morezippers stick a little so I sometimes need two hands to open/close them but other than that minor sticking point this is a great jacket.
For the most part this is a great piece of gear. Its very warm and lightweight. Works great as a medium-warm puffy, or as an extra warm (albeit non-breathable) mid-layer.
I find this to be warmer than the nano-puff line of jackets. (And its lighter of course.) It fits in a nice place just below the Das Light and Down Sweater in warmth.
My problem... Read More with this jacket, and a few other jackets from Patagonia, is that the neck is too tight when zipped all the way up. It presses uncomfortably on my Adam's apple. I'm 6'0, 174 lbs, and I don't have a huge neck. The Micro Puff hoody does the same thing when zipped up all the way with the hood down. (As do the R1 Tech Face Jacket and Thermal Air Shed Jacket.)
By comparison, the Nano-air Jacket's neck is not too tight. But its not as warm.
I really wanted to keep this jacket, but had to return it. Wearing a jacket like this zipped up all the way is a requirement for me.
We appreciate your detailed and thoughtful feedback, and we're sorry it didn't work well for you. We're glad to hear you returned it and hope we have a better option for you in the future. Thanks for taking the time to send us a valuable review, Kris!

Super lightweight and warm but tight on neck
Love this jacket. It's super lightweight and warm but it's very tight on the neck. The zipper gets caught on the inner thin lining when zipping it all the way up when it's tight.
Hey Chris, thanks for this feedback. We'll share your thoughts with our product team. If you find the neck to impede on this jackets performance, you're welcome to begin a warranty evaluation [here](https://www.patagonia.com/returns.html).

Great Mid Layer
In a moment of bad judgement, I bought a nano puff jacket in XL. The idea was to be able to wear a layer underneath it comfortably. It works that way, but is baggy/goofy on me when worn alone. In the interests of Patagonia research, I decided to get a micropuff jacket in large. It fits perfectly. You see someone in Manhattan wearing a nano puff jac... Read Moreket approximately every thirty seconds, so wearing a micro puff is a nice change of pace. It is a comfortable jacket. I really like the dark blue color and the drop in pockets. I cannot tell if it is truly warmer than the nano puff or not. I have worn it over a shirt and tie to to work and over a t shirt on the weekend. It, along with my better sweater, will be a Swiss Army knife travel garment. It Is worth the premium for a more unique look.
The jacket fits well, looks good, and is warm despite it being quite light. I wore it on several days when the temperature was well below freezing and the wind was blowing quite hard. I was surprised that the jacket did such a good job of keeping me warm.
I got this jacket at the recommendation of reddit/onebag community. Didn't disappoint. It is extremely light and yet still very warm, perfect for packing small.
I love this jacket! I've only worn it a couple of times at this point, but that's all I needed to leave a review. I've worn it in 40 degrees F and around 0 degrees F. It's super warm with a good base layer and it's low profile enough to wear underneath a rain shell. I haven't tried packing it yet, but I imagine it comp... Read Moreresses well. Overall, this is a great lightweight jacket that hits above it's weight class!
This is the lightest insulation jacket I have and I love wearing it anywhere. If I wear a fleece or something alike underneath, I could wear it even below freezing. The only issue I have is that it is very tight at neck when fully zipped. Hopefully Patagonia will fix the issue in the near future.

best patagonia piece to date
I've owned nano puffs since the first pullover, I love the nano puff for its weight warmth and being windproof also very durable, But this micro puff is next level. Compare to my older, forge grey Patagonia insulated jacket, this is a great upgrade. Jacket is overall lighter but feels just as warm. Plus, size feels more like a medium (old medium jacket felt too bulky).

Best Jacket I Own
This is probably the best and most versatile jacket that I own. I'm 6-1 and 225 lbs and this fits me true to size. More importantly it is dang near too warm for its size. It is thin and incredibly packable (important for my line of work), but also INCREDIBLY warm. Will definitely be buying more of these and recommending them to everybody.
Surprising warmth, very light, great overall design
No downside to this jacket. Put it on and feel the warmth. Longer sleeves let you stretch out or up. Under a rain jacket +++ but fabric sheds water in a light rain. Nothing not to like if you are looking for lightweight warmth. Love it, protect it, wear it everywhere. Hiker, kayaker and bicyclists dream when the temperature suddenly drops.
Pull it... Read More on.
Beautiful sewing, cool colors.
