The soft comfort of this deep-pile vest makes every day feel like quitting time, even when you’re just getting started. Made from plush, high-pile 100% polyester fleece (30% recycled), the torso traps heat, wicks moisture, and feels light and comfortable on the skin. The side panels feature a combination of low-bulk microfleece and motion-friendly spandex for reduced bulk, mobility and moisture control. Handwarmer pockets secure with zippers to keep you organized, and a zippered chest pocket holds your carpenter’s pencil. The full-front zip extends to the chin for cold-weather protection. Hip length.

bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Recycled Polyester

In 1993, we adopted fleece into our product line made from post consumer recycled (PCR) plastic soda bottles. We were the first outdoor clothing manufacturer to do so. PCR® clothing was a positive step towards a more sustainable system – one that uses fewer resources, discards less and better protects people’s health.

Today, we’re able to utilize more sources for recycled polyester and offer it on more garments such as Capilene® baselayers, shell jackets, board shorts, and fleece. We now recycle used soda bottles, unusable manufacturing waste, and worn out garments (including our own) into polyester fibers to produce many of our clothes.

Using recycled polyester lessens our dependence on petroleum as a raw material source, curbs discards and reduces toxic emissions from incinerators.

Men's Los Gatos Vest is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this vest I bought this at the end of last season so haven't had a chance to wear until. Fits well, cozy, well made - everything I expect from Patagonia. This has become my go to.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ages/Wears VERY Quickly! I have a few other Patagonia "deep pile" fleeces, and love all of them. I bought the Los Gatos vest in November of last year. I wore it more at work than anywhere else, which, in the winter, is typically indoors all day. The vest fit great, was the perfect weight, and overall, I was incredibly satisfied... at first. The only issue I've had has been with how the deep pile fibers have worn. Maybe once or twice a month I'd have to travel requiring more than half an hour in the car. My commute each day is only minutes. I only mention the driving to point out that I really don't do much of it wearing the vest, but if you check out the pictures I posted, the minimal amount spent behind the wheel was enough that the seatbelt completely flattened the pile leaving a pretty interesting pattern. The only reason I can say with confidence that this is the cause is because of the pattern. I tried washing the vest with towels in cold water to revitalize the fibers, tumble dry with no heat, even went as far as using a hair brush to try to restore the pile. No dice. Functionally, the vest is awesome, but from an appearance angle (lets be honest, which is a significant factor in the decision to buy this item over a plain fleece vest), it just aged wayyyyyyyy to quickly from very minimal contact with a seatbelt over it's useful life.
