It’s been said that cities like Seattle and mountains like the Cascades have two seasons—wet and wetter. So if you find yourself in the grip of one of those two seasons, grab the Windsweep. Built with a durable 2-layer 80% nylon/20% polyester H2No® Performance Standard shell, the Windsweep stops rain, wind and snow to keep you dry and moving forward, despite contrarian weather. The waterproof/breathable barrier and DWR (durable water repellent) finish block water on the outside, and when you’re burning calories, they release perspiration to keep you comfortable on the inside. A lightweight, supple tricot mesh liner wicks moisture and glides smoothly for easy layering. The 2-way-adjustable hood has a drop-collar design to provide exceptional storm protection with unobstructed visibility. The front zipper has internal storm flaps that block wind, and it parks neatly away in a zipper garage at the chin for skin comfort. The collar is lined with soft, smooth microfleece. The Windsweep has one chest pocket and two handwarmer pockets—both with watertight Slim Zips to reduce bulk—and an internal stash pocket for valuable secures with a zipper. The dual-adjust drawcord hem seals in your warmth and prevents cold drafts. Hip length.

Weatherproof

2-layer H2No® Performance Standard shell fabrics are completely waterproof, windproof and breathable.

Designed for a wide range of uses, from backpacking to snowboarding, 2-layer H2No® Performance Standard shell fabrics utilize a taffeta or mesh lining rather than a bonded scrim to protect the waterproof/breathable barrier. The lining increases the garments wicking ability, durability and next-to-skin comfort.

2-layer H2No® Performance Standard shell fabrics are coated with DWR
(durable water repellent) fabric finish that repels light rain and snow. In conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

All products bearing the H2No mark have been vigorously tested for durability in our Killer Wash.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another great product from Patagonia The fit is right on. I purchased a size large. I am 175 6'1in height with an athletic build. The quality is everything I expected. I am sure to enjoy this jacket for many years to come. Athletic fit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Feels like a solid jacket I received this jacket today and the feel and fit are great. The only reason I am writing this review and giving them 4 stars is because there is not a way to secure the hood. I used the chat feature on the site and was informed that it was not designed to be secured. I have had similar jackets from Patagonia in the past and they all some mechanism to roll up and secure the hood. This is my only complaint but it is important to how I want to use this "super versatile" jacket while skiing and fishing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great urban rain jacket! This jacket would be too heavy for me to use for hiking and backpacking, but I've been spending more time in the Cities and this is a perfect shell for rainy days. The fabric is soft and tough and the color is perfect. I don't like helmet-compatible hoods but this one isn't too bad and cinches down decently on my bare head. The hand pockets are soft and the zippers seem high-quality and water-tight in anything but extended driving rain. Very comfortable jacket - quite warm for a shell - comforting when a real thunder-boomer rain and hail storm hits! I can keep my phone protected in the inner pocket and the cuffs are shaped well and tighten down nicely too. Good length, too. Protects down close to the tops of my thighs. Very happy overall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid all around rain jacket I bought a similar Patagonia rain jacket 2 years ago but did not use it much because of our drought in California. When I pulled it out for the first rain storm, the old jacket leaked in the hood and shoulders. Patagonia issued me a credit right away and I bought this jacket to replace it. This one is lighter, but designed and totally water proof. Very comfortable for everyday wear, but would work for a backpacking jacket. Excellent quality construction and I really like the material. Great jacket!!
