Additional Information

For trail running and other high-aerobic activities in cold weather, the Wind Shield Gloves provide lightweight soft-shell protection from the elements while still allowing excess heat and moisture to escape through strategically placed breathable panels.

We made the Wind Shield Gloves because the screaming meemies suck. Low-profile, wind-blocking, modern-functionality gloves, the Wind Shields are finely mapped for ultimate dexterity and protection against the cold while running, cycling or Nordic skiing. A fully windproof fabric covers the back of hand, while the wrist cuff and the spaces between the fingers use a warm, stretchy brushed jersey fleece. The palms and palm-side of the fingers are comprised of low-bulk Capilene® Thermal Weight fabric. Synthetic chamois reinforcements cover the palm, and the pads of the thumb and first two fingers (the joints are un-reinforced for dexterity). Within those reinforcements, the thumb and index finger are lined with magic to allow the transmission of touch to your smartphone or music player, making you wonder if one of these days they’ll figure out how to put a man on the moon.
  • Lightweight, stretchy soft-shell fabric with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish provides protection from wind and elements on backside of hand and fingers with Polygiene® permanent odor control
  • Combination of breathable Capilene® and warm Speedwork fabric provides warmth, breathability and wicking on the inside of fingers, palm and wrist
  • Synthetic chamois fabric is durable for grip and protection on palm and fingers
  • Touch-screen-compatible panels on thumb and index finger
  • Back of the hand: 3-layer, 3.5-oz 20-denier 100% polyester laminated to a polyurethane film and treated with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish. Palm: 3.8-oz Polartec® Power Grid™ 92% polyester (62% recycled)/8% spandex with Polygiene® permanent odor control. Palm overlay: 7.6-oz 50% nylon/50% polyester microsuede. Cuff and between fingers: 6.9-oz 85% polyester/15% spandex brushed jersey with Polygiene permanent odor control. Fabric is bluesign® approved

Water Resistant

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Wind Shield Gloves is rated 2.0 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect lightweight gloves My second pair in XS size in case I want to wear them under mittens. I also like the size S ones that I wear alone.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ripped seams after just a few times wearing I only got to wear these gloves a few times before the seams ripped on one of them! I really liked them otherwise. Obviously not meant to be a warm glove, but a breathable one for high aerobic activities. I thought they worked great. Poor construction if the seams are already ripped. I noticed another reviewer said the same thing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from warm weather Not for cold weather or anything I can think of.......I'm a huge Pata fan but this is a big miss.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NOT for cold weather I've had these for less than a month and couldn't be more disappointed. These are not insulated anywhere near enough to run in below 35-40 degrees, and not particularly windproof. Only the very back of the glove is wind resistant, the sides of the fingers and seems will let wind in, rendering the entire design useless. Patagonia really missed the mark on these. Waste of money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Split seams and cold hands Seams keep splitting now on my second pair within two months. Nice touch pads. Not warm at all, even layered. Trail running in MT the wind is bad and these have not helped. Maybe good sun gloves.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Okay glove but not for cold weather I had high hopes for this glove for mild cold weather running, mid-20s F to 40F. Despite the web description, It's not a cold weather glove for running or biking -- except perhaps to Californians. During strenuous runs, it may work to freezing. Below that, my hands froze in these. There's not enough insulation on the back. It should be lined. I wish this were a real running glove and the palm reinforcements were dropped. They serve no purpose for running and only block the sweat venting. The cuffs are a bit too snug if you plan on wearing these with shirts/jackets that have thumb holes (e.g. Windshield hybrid jacket.) These gloves are well-made, thin, and packable. They also make a good base layer for fleece gloves. I was able to bring all my fingers in for extra warm.
