Adaptable Barely Hipster underwear is beautifully suited to the chilly climb up Kili’s Rongai Route and the heat of the surrounding savanna. Its soft, featherweight polyester (73% recycled)/spandex fabric blend wicks moisture, breathes and dries quickly—making it ideal for cold or hot climates. Contemporary, geometric jacquard is engineered into the fabric for a feminine appearance; seamless construction won’t chafe, roll or bind. Merrow-stitch finish at leg holes is ultrasoft next to skin. Recycled Polyester

In 1993, we adopted fleece into our product line made from post consumer recycled (PCR) plastic soda bottles. We were the first outdoor clothing manufacturer to do so. PCR® clothing was a positive step towards a more sustainable system – one that uses fewer resources, discards less and better protects people’s health.

Today, we’re able to utilize more sources for recycled polyester and offer it on more garments such as Capilene® baselayers, shell jackets, board shorts, and fleece. We now recycle used soda bottles, unusable manufacturing waste, and worn out garments (including our own) into polyester fibers to produce many of our clothes.

Using recycled polyester lessens our dependence on petroleum as a raw material source, curbs discards and reduces toxic emissions from incinerators.

Women's Barely Hipster is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 69.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from They actually fit! I had almost given up on finding underwear that actually fit and didn't make me sweat to death, but on a trip to REI, I bought a pair. They're amazing! I went back and bought 6 more! They are thin and comfortable and are actually wide enough in the crotch! (Some underwear makers think everyone is a size 0 and make a terribly narrow crotch....tmi? Sorry). Some reviews have mentioned the old version being cut bigger, and I can't comment on that since these are my first ones, but these are super stretchy and I actually sized down a size as compared to the active hipsters with the thicker material. They washed well, dried quickly, and I hope they last. I'll be wearing them as an every day favorite, not just for activities. Also, others mentioned the tags....they rip out easily and don't tear the undies. They appear to have an extra stitch just for holding them in, so you won't need scissors. In any case, even at full price, they are the most comfortable undies I've worn and I'll be buying more! Give them a shot! I bet they won't be pushed to the back of your drawer with the rest of the brands you wasted money on buying and then hated over the years. :-) These will surely be worn!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very comfortable, wears quickly This underwear is all one piece of fabric, with only one seam. They're very light, comfortable, and breathable. The only issue I'm seeing is durability. After three or so washes, I'm already seeing some snags in the fabric, which I imagine has the potential to end up with a run like a pair of tights (something another reviewer mentioned). By comparison, I have regular Hanes underwear that's held up for years. I got my two pairs at 30% off, but if I'd spent the full $22 for each, I'd feel like I wasted my money. If you're looking for a pair of underwear like this, I'd recommend taking a look at Patagonia's Women's Daily Hipster. The fabric is thicker and slightly less breathable, but they're still exceedingly comfortable, and seem to be higher quality. I got a couple pairs of those at about the same time I got these, and I have no durability concerns. They're also cheaper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best. Underwear. Ever. I have the Barely Hipsters in a bunch of colors. So comfortable - like they are barely there! (see what I did there?) Love them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I was so nervous...... I purchased these becasue I LOVE hipster styled undies- and they were on sale. I was super nervous because of the reviews. I bit the bullet and I purchased two pairs, and here I am back to buy more. I cannot compare them to the older style because I never owned them, so with that said, I think these are fantastic, and do not let the other reviews shy you away, especially if you have never had them in the past. I wear a medium in Patagonia pants- I am an 8 (29) or 10 (30) depending on pant. I purchased these in a large, because I always size up in my undies and swimsuit bottoms. I do not like those garments to be too tight or to even really feel them on. The large fit wonderfully, not too loose and not tight at all. I do not even feel them on, unlike others I own. I have not had them long, so I cannot comment on durability, but I am sure Patagonia will stand by their product. As for the tags- they will tear out of the garment very easily if you gently pull on them. They were designed to do this. Do not use scissors and cut them out, you run a risk of cutting the seam. I do wish the tags were not there at all, but I am sure there is a reason they have to be there?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features I like these panties. I can't even feel them on and they look(or not noticeable) good under my yoga pants.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing underwear I bought these underwear for a month-long wilderness backpacking course that I was embarking on! I was only able to bring a couple pairs of underwear on this course, so I was putting a lot of faith in these to hold up with the high-impact activity that I would be doing every day, and they did not disappoint! They stay super dry and not smelly, and they hold their shape really well over long periods of time, unlike other underwear that might stretch out or lose their elasticity. They're also super comfy and can be worn with any kind of pants. Love these!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Much skimpier than older hipsters. Bad changes. I recently bought several pairs because I loved the fit and feel of the ones I bought previously. I had to return the new ones because the cut has changed for the worse. They are smaller and lower-rise. (see picture for comparison) They expose my "coin slot" and the leg holes ride up in back. They are not even "hipsters" anymore. They started out more like bikinis and, within minutes of wearing, quickly turned into thongs. Fabric and stitching are also not as good as previous. None of the recent changes was an improvement. Patagonia ruined a good thing.
